HOUSE OF THE DRAGON [2x2] | EXTENDED REACTION

BROTHER VS BROTHER! We go another step this week. Can't wait to see everyones thoughts 😭

HOUSE OF THE DRAGON [2x2] | EXTENDED REACTION

Comments

I’m rewatching your reactions for the hundredth time…you are both so hilarious! #marriagegoals I have ms so sometimes I am stuck in bed for a few days at a time during a flare up. And you guys are my relief. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your humor, the way you banter, and how much fun you bring to a show I really love. (And GOT obvi) I’m not a big horror girl, but I’m hoping to try a few anime shows? Any suggestion which one to start with first? My husband and 8 yr daughter and I just traveled to Japan in February. So that piqued my interest. Keep up the great work! Congrats on the new addition! I’m so happy for you both! Hugs, from Boston

Karen

Team black till the wheels fall off but I’m glad you guys felt how I did that she would risk daemons kids but not Jace and QUICKLY to, Regardless WE FIGHT FOR OUR QUEEN n DAEMON IS STILL GOATED🖤‼️

Dylan Gulley

To be fair Rhaenyra isn't risking Baela cause she's her step daughter. She loves all her kids and is closer to Daemon's girls than he is. Jace isn't just Rhaenyra's son, he's her heir remember and cannot risk him above all. Love the comparisons again to Rhaenyra's wonderful parenting to Allicent being the opposite, going for sex instead of comforting her first born son, like Rhaenyra did with Jace in ep 1. Such a shame because Aegon could have turned out so differently raised by the blacks alone. Same with poor Helaena, Rhaenyra always wanted a sister, she would never wish her or the kids harm yet Allicent raised her boys to fear Rhaenyra and her being very willing to slaughter the competition.

King Aegon really did love his Son. I felt bad to see him grieve. I was glad to see him smash "Blood's" head in. I don't know why the guy thought he could rat to get out of it...Maybe because he used to be a cop...🤣 (I don't hate cops, I just thought that was funny...He was a rat maker, and he was hanging out with a rat catcher, in the previous Episode). I was so upset when they were parading Jaehaerys through the City. I was almost certain his head was goung to roll off, when they got stuck in the mud. I felt like Queen Helaena should have had way more emotion in the past couple of Episodes. I have lost a child, and there is no way I would just point to one of my kids. I would bite, punch, scream, etc., until they killed me. I get that she was in shock, but when they asked her which one was the Heir, and she just pointed, I was dumbfounded. I would have started screaming that very second. Even one scream, before getting your throat slit, could have gotten a City Watchman or King's Guard in there quick enough to stop the beheading of her Son. It takes a few minutes to decapitate someone, at least I would think. It isn't like these losers had magical Valyrian Steel. And, with the Erryk/Arryk Twins, all I can do is 🙂‍↔️. At first I thought Arryk (the bad Twin) killed Erryk (the good Twin), but it turns out Erryk (the good Twin) killed Arryk (the bad Twin), and then he committed Suicide out, due to grief. Why would anyone in their right mind give their Identical Twins the same name (spelled different or not)? They are Identical Twins in real life, and they said they had a lot of fun fighting with each other.I will be so glad if someone kills that stupid bit**, Criston Cole. He is nothing but a liar, drama filled ho. And, now he is the King's Hand. What a joke. It was a shame to watch that model get destroyed in the beginning. Alicent is also to blame for her Grandson dying. And, of course Viserys was not a perfect Father. The man was dying from Leprosy. Come on folks. The King was so stupid for hanging all of those men. Now the City is going to be overwhemed with rats and disease. 🧀☠️🩸🧀☠️🩸🧀☠️🩸🧀☠️🩸 ⚰️🦄👼🐴😭🦄⚰️👼🐴😭⚰️🎠👼😭 🐀🪢🐀🪢🐀🪢🐀🪢🐀🪢🐀🪢 ⚔️☠️👬⚔️☠️👬⚔️☠️👬⚔️☠️👬 🔥🐉🔥🐉🔥🐉🔥🐉🔥🐉🔥🔥

Otto Hightower was probably the most interesting character along with Daemon & Rhaenyra, their scenes this episode were so engaging. Otto is a shitty guy, but he is definitely the player of the game of thrones, and he truly knows that Viserys wanted Rhaenyra, Rhys Ifan, Emma D'arcy, and Matt Smith were so wonderful. Along with Luke and Elliot Tittensor were incredible. My only problem with the episode is the editing, I don't understand why arryk & erryk weren't the final scene but alicent & cole sex scene?? It would have been so good, ep 1 - the death of a child, ep 2 - brother vs brother, like this IS the tragedy that is the Dance of Dragons,

mya

In defense of Aegon, Viscerys didn't build the Valyria model. He talked about that with Alicent in the first season. 😂 Also, Cheese didn't kick the dog, that was Blood. So the dog was sad that his dad was hanging. Otto is literally making all the right moves for their success. Aegon is fucking everything up. Not sure how that passes over everyone. Great reaction, this show is fire.

Thrashifice

Cole is the worst b*tch ever i need him to die. the seven kingdoms is being run by two medival frat bros. team green is so stupid and otto just realized the level of stupid.

Emily Rose

People all blame Alicent for how Aegon was raised but they never blame Viserys. He wasn't a good dad even to Rhaenyra. Let's start putting some of the blame on him for how all his children have turned out. I do think Rhaenyra would be a better ruler but she's not innocent either.

Corey

They usually do it for the last few episodes so I'm guessing the last 2 or 3 eps will be watchalongs

Maria Arr.

I absolutely hate Criston Cole with every fiber of my being. I am sooooo ANGRY about what he did to Arryk/Erryk! And now the POS is HAND? Gimme a break. Ugh….

Kristen Lynn

I’m assuming u prolly realize the mistake later in the episode but former King Visarys isn’t Aegons grandpa lol it’s his dad. You called him his grandpa a few different times in the early parts of this episode

Chaz D

I know Alicent was hate f*cking Cole but tbh, this is the best thing she could do so that she still has as much control as she can of him, since her father is out

Mads

Who else panicked when the funeral car got stuck? I thought the prince's head was going to fall off, thank goodness this wasn't based on Monty Python.

Marcos Paulo

He also had silver hair...

MamaSeesa

They really did a good job with the twins. Once Arryk took his helmet off even WE didn't know who was who and that was the point. Rhaenera's men couldn't help Erryk because they didn't know which one was their guy. I bawled over the emotion and grief in the scene, it was such good acting!! Aegon could've been a good guy if he'd been actually shown love and given guidance by his parents and grandfather. Instead he turned out a spoiled brat. Even the event in the first season with the servant girl was more of a 'I see something I want so I'll take it' more than a desire to purposely hurt her. Which is a spoiled rich kid attitude, he didn't think it was messed up, which means he didn't have evil intent, he just didn't care. I felt for him in this ep, because clearly he's trying to get love - he was giving his friends what they wanted last ep and trying to win the small folk, etc. But I'll bet the only person who has truly loved him without expecting anything in return was his son, who loved him with the innocence of a child loving his father. It was the first real love he'd ever had and now it's gone. He's crying more for himself than his kid, and he's still a little shit, but I felt sorry for him there. Edit to clarify: his attitude toward what he did to the servant girl does not in any way justify it, the act was still r@pe and he should've been held accountable more than that weak slap he got.

MamaSeesa

Just wanted to point out Alicent sobs for Helaena in that early scene, not for herself. Peak acting from Olivia Cooke. She said ‘but what they did to my girl…’ talking about Helaena’s suffering now.

Kate

Using someone's kid death for politics, fall into one's own sword for honor/shame. It would have been a shock if I haven't watched Shogun 😂

Marcos Paulo

It took me a minute to recognize him but the man, Hugh, who was with his wife and sick child was the blacksmith from last episode who asked Aegon for an advanced payment in court.

BlueJean452

Good Erryk and Bad Arryk lmaooo. I’m surprised I like Aegon a lot these 2 episodes, the actor is doing a great job. All the acting is superb but my favorite scene is definitely the fight between the twins. Also, such a sweet moment between Baela and Jace💕 I’m so excited for the rest!

Mitchie

Its tricky to notice but there is a very slight difference in the brothers' beards - Arryk's is slightly more pointed, Erryk's is slightly more unkempt.

Laura Thornley

Some podcaster used mnemonic to remember sides - bad Arryk is an Asshole who is sworn to Aegon xd (Erryk is good then :D) I will say there was some masterclass acting all around. I am Team Black but Otto's facial expressions when he realized what an idiot his grandson is might have been my favorite performance of the episode. Also not sure if you guys caught it but Otto at the end mentions going to Old Town where Alicent's son is. This is her 4th child, youngest son (should be around 16) and we were not sure if we will be getting him in adaptation, but he was finally mentioned and named. Daeron.

Sikozu

I just feel really bad for Aegon. Alicent and Otto always gave him shit and pushed him to their high expectations and Viserys didn't pay attention to him because I believe he felt guilty for wanting a son so much, then finally got one AFTER he named Rhaenyra the heir. He never knew affection and then Otto and Alicent pushed him into being a king only to use him as their puppet. Now his kid got decapitated and there's even more pressure on him. Knowing also what happens later to him as well, this dude suffers the most in this war without even wanting to be the king in the first place.

Anna J

Are ya’ll not doing full length watch-along reactions for this season?

Philip Toscano

I feel sorry more for Aemond. He always got the shit end of the stick. He'd be a good person had he not been raised by Alicent lol

Courtney Conover

He's not a good person. His actor says this often.

Courtney Conover

I mean idk if I would consider Aegon a good dad maybe to that kid in particular because remember he had a bastard in the fighting pits in season 1 that he enjoyed seeing kids fight each other in.
