INTERSTELLAR (2014) | EXTENDED REACTION
Added 2024-04-14 18:13:49 +0000 UTC
Does it make you happy to make Bridgette ugly cry? Finally it’s here, the epic Interstellar 😭 we weren’t emotionally ready lol but I get why people love this movie and it’s one of my new fave reactions of ours.
Now hang with us while we work on watching both Dunes, and try not to be too behind on Shogun and Chucky this week!
Every single time, this movie gets me to cry at least twice every single time I watch it.

One of my favorite movies of all time. Amazing music, incredible visuals and they tried to break down the complex science to make us normies understand (much appreciated). The ending is beautiful.. but also I feel like as a dad you'd want to stay for hours talking to your daughter about the life she lived and the family she made. I get her point about not wanting to watch her die but damn.

And Christopher Nolan directed it, just like Intersteller and many other great movies (Dunkirk was visually pleasing, and very anxiety inducing following soldiers trying to get home across the sea. I would also reccomend!)

I enjoyed this movie. I'm shocked I never saw it when it came out in 2014. We got to see what going through a black hole might look like. Very cool. Cheers!

FYI: A Black Hole is a real thing, Wormholes are theoretical.
Black Holes are formerly supermassive stars that got so big and dense that they collapse in onto themselves, with massive gravity wells forming as more and more material is pulled in. Eventually the gravity is so extreme light starts to bend around it as space-time is warped until light bends into it entirely and cannot escape (thus the 'black' in the name - its a literal point of pure darkness). The main way to spot Black Holes is they often have a halo around them of matter and light that hasn't yet fallen into the 'event horizon' - aka, point of no return, but also can be found by examining other stellar objects (mostly stars) behaving weirdly (such as orbiting around an invisible axis point). You don't want to be anywhere near one of those things, they devour everything around them in a slow and methodical way while also warping the passage of time (as we understand and perceive it).
Wormholes are a completely different concept, an area of space-time that has folded in on itself. It has no concrete definition because no Wormhole has ever been discovered, its merely a mathematical possibility based on our understanding of physics. But in theory a Wormhole could be a place that spans a large portion of space-time (which is another subject entirely that bends my sanity - space and time are essentially the same thing, just perceived differently) that could in theory be used as a shortcut to a far away place.

So, in the incident Doyal depicted how the gravity was so heavy for him, that's why he was moving so slowly and why it took him so long to do simple things like turn and lift. When they landed coop informed them it was 130 times Earth's gravity. By the time he got to the craft Case and Ann's character jumped in front of him. So he had to wait for them and by that time it was too late. He couldn't move fast enough to get on the craft.
