But her motherly love, her talk with Alicent, I think prevented that. Also, if she did burn them all, we have no season 2 to look forward to. R.I.P. Lord “my head was smashed into one of those weird balls”. Criston Cole needs to be put into a straitjacket in a padded room.

2024-03-30 03:10:46 +0000 UTCThe feet thing...remember in the episode with the ten year time jump, when Alicent came and ate dinner with Larys, the first thing she did when she came in the room was take her shoes off. 😳 When Otto is giving his speech to the crowd about the king's final words, all I can see is Prince Humperdink from Princess Bride. 😆 Rhaenys. Alicent told her ring the bell when you have your answer and she rang👏 that 👏 bell 👏. Beast beneath the boards, indeed. Some people take issue with her coming up with her dragon, she killed a bunch of people and didn't have to, it wasn't in the book, blah blah blah. Firstly, if GRRM was OK with this change, we should be too. 🤷♀️ As far as her actions. This building is the Dragonpit. Under that huge arena where the people were gathered is individual spaces for dragons. The dragons are chained in. Each dragon room has one entry/exit into the Pit, and one out into the world. They either knew or assumed that Rhaenys would escape, and was highly likely to go for her dragon and they would've posted guards to capture her there. Yes, Meleys could've taken out guards, but only those in front of her at a given moment, leaving her tail exposed to the guards at the other entrance. If Rhaenys had waited until after the ceremony when there were less people, the guards would be more alert. Right now, they're interested in the fuss upstairs and are distracted. This is the only time she can safely sneak in without being caught, and the only way out is up. She couldn't kill Aegon. She is kin, and that's one of the three highest sins in Westeros. Can't kill kin, envoys, or guests without bringing the wrath of the gods (and the ultimate distain of others) down on your head. Plus, she hasn't talked to Rhaenera. She thinks she knows Rhaenera's mind on this, but she doesn't know for sure, and she doesn't know her husband's mind either (if he's still alive). But if she kills Aegon, it WILL start a war, and House Valeryon WILL be on Rhaenera's side where they like it or not. So she just needs to get out of there and get word to Rhaenera.
