Funerals are just as bad as weddings... The fractures in this family are crazy uncomfortable. Oh, and Alicent is going off 😂 More to come this week!
You guys 🎸🎼🤘. I will leave a longer comment on the "Watch-Along" Episode.

Just remember, Vhagar is a Dragon of War. She isn't like the younger Dragons of the others, she has seen some things. Vhagar old ass got PTSD from Aegons Conquest. She doesn't play fight, she just fights.

I came to the series quite recently (I had GOT S8 PTSD so just started the series few weeks ago). I was fully expecting to be Team Green. Never loved Dany. Teen Rhaenyra seemed like a horrible brat to me and very Dany-coded. And I seen some great edits of Alicent to Labour by Paris Paloma which instantly endeared me to the character. And then Alicent kept victimizing herself. Like at every opportunity she kept relinquishing her agency. From the first episode yes her father sent her to king's quarters but he was not in there with her. Her successfully endearing herself to the king there? That's on her. She is put in bad situations and she just goes along with it every step of the way and keeps being surprised that things do not go her way. And she keeps surrounding herself with monsters she pretends are 'honorable' people.
By the 10 year time skip I was firmly on Rhaenyra's side even if some of her choices were dangerously stupid.
I think there are horrible people and horrible decisions on both sides, but I am still picking Team Black.

There is no protocol and there is no "line" to try, it never was. Either you have the balls to go up to the dragon and claim it or die trying or you don't try at all. That's all. It's just a kid that really wanted a dragon and saw one unbonded dragon and went for it and Vhagar accepted him. For all we know she might've killed Laena's kids if they tried to claim her, there are no rules on who the dragon wants to bond with or when it happens. These are huge flying beasts, you're portraying this here like dragons just sit patiently in front of castles like dogs waiting for a new owner.

everyone has their own opinions about it but i think aemond did “steal” vhagar.
before all the greens come for me i put steal in quotation marks!!! let me explain LMAO! it’s never discussed in the books or show how the bonding of dragons and free dragons are handled. but it’d be silly to think that there wasn’t a protocol put in place for WHO got to try to bond with a dragon and WHAT dragons they were allowed to try to bond with. especially since dragons are house targaryens AND the thrones power (at this time). accounting for the countless bastards house targaryen had (we see one of aegons in the child fitting pits) and accounting for the houses that the targaryen daughters/sons married into there’s a lot of potential dragon riding blood in westeros and who knows where else! if there wasn’t something in place than all those running around with targaryen blood could just try hopping on to a dragon at any time, which wouldn’t be ideal or smart for the main branch of house targaryen. that’s their power and it’d be stupid to think they’d just let anyone try claiming a dragon whenever. so i think in a sense that aemond did “steal” vhagar. there’s probably a protocol on who would’ve been given the opportunity to claim her. i’d assume her daughter would’ve been first in line to try. i mean we learn of unclaimed dragons in episode 10 that have just been sitting there the entire time so my question is why weren’t rhaena and aemond ever given the chance to meet and claim those dragons? probably because there’s some type of protocol to handling those things and in turn aemond skipped all the protocol the night of laenas funeral and claimed vhagar. i don’t think he “stole” her in the sense that rhaena would’ve even been able to claim vhagar but in the sense that he skipped the necessary steps to getting the chance to claim vhagar. i won’t spoil but i assume we might get more perspective on that in season 2 tho with all things considered.

Honestly I am not on either side because both sides are in the wrong one way or another, but I have more sympathy for the Greens because viewers are unnecessarily blind to Team Blacks wrongs, but overreact on Green's wrongs just because Rhaenyra is their Dany insert lol Alicent was just a teenager forced to live her life the way her father expects, then her husband, then the realm. She had no freedom whatsoever, and the only purpose she managed to find is to protect her children. No matter what anyone says, no one can guarantee Rhaenyra wouldn't one day as a Queen be forced to get rid of Alicent's kids, especially with the whole thing of her being a woman heir and having obviously bastard children, while Aegon is firstborn son of the King, looking very Targaryen. While on the other hand Rhaenyra got to be spoiled and do whatever she likes with her main worry being that she has to CHOOSE between dozens of rich high lords on who will marry her. Also, if you remember what Dany said, dragon is not a slave, Aemond did not steal Vhagar, they bonded. No matter how big of a prick he was about it, he didn't deserve to get attacked and have his eye cut out for it. Which is actually already the undertone on the later events and differences between the Blacks and the Greens. The Greens actually do things while the Blacks just talk about them.

The books have unreliable narrators so Im realy curious to see how they play things out with laenor in the future.

This may come off a bit “sappy”, but, thank you. The two of you have managed to make me smile more than several times now, when I desperately needed it. Your humor is kindred to mine and sometimes I think people pay for some patrons over others because you feel some people just “speak you language”. Totally worth it. You guys are some good humans 💪🏻

Also last episode Haellena said that Aemond would need to close an eye for him to get a dragon. Pay attention to the things she say, Cody is on the right track

I route for people on both sides but I do think Team Green has more interesting characters altogether that I'm excited to see more about next season. Also I just love Olivia Cooke. I've said this before but just watch her interviews she's hilarious. :)

Personally I'm not on Rhaenyras or Alicents side, simply because I see both of their views and I think both of them are in the wrong or do something stupid, about as much as the other, in my opinion. I can understand both of their motivations. I think the show clearly tries to show team black in a more sympathetic light, to us the viewers, so it makes a lot of sense to me that there are more people on their side. Honestly I think the whole situation is just a giant clusterfuck and I'm just here to enjoy it. I honestly can't see either of them as the bad guy. But it's always interesting to see people talk about why they're on Rhaenyras or Alicents side, so thanks for the discussion at the end. (English isn't my fist language so I hope my comment was easy to understand, I also wanted to say that I love your videos, keep up the good work <3)

Dany got away with it because Drogon was small compared to the dragon's of this show. He is likely comparable to a few of the smaller dragons that existed during the Dance. Maybe some of the middle ground size dragons by the end of GOT? He was just large enough for a rider but nowhere near the upper echelons of dragons, meanwhile Vhagar is the biggest dragon alive and has been rode since the time of Aegon's Conquest. Also, Aemond didn't steal Vhagar. Did he take the chance for Laena's daughter to potentially claim Vhagar? Yes. But you cannot steal a dragon, it does not belong to Laena's children just because she rode it. The dragon chooses its rider and isn't owned by anyone. Hell, they mentioned that Vhagar was off fucking around in Essos when Laena was a child because no one could claim her. Also, not killing Laenor was an interesting decision because it left a big plot hole from the books. Either they will off screen Laenor to introduce those two or they will hash them and bring Laenor back into the fold. I would prefer book accuracy, however, I am also extremely curious how the showrunners would throw Laenor back into the fold? Either way, great reactions as always and cannot wait until the next season comes this June!

I'm not sure if yall noticed, but when Viserys was leaving the post-funeral awkward-stare party, he said "I'm going to bed, Aemma" to Alicent. Aemman was his first wife/Rhaenyra's mother. That's something to note.
