Augustus got to know that he isn't helping anything by opening up wounds. Ignoring it isn't the way, but this is something Mike and Lucy got to deal with. They'll probably never be real friends anymore, but Mike needs to admit he regrets what he said and has done, cause it looks like he does. And tell her it's not true. That he's just a guy who talks before he thinks, emotionally confused and stressed, and that none of it was worth it cause he has lost all interest in Sandy at this point, holding on out of fear of what he might do to herself.

I cannot use the link for some reason qup

Runeru

Completely off topic but Lucy looks so prettyyyy

Candyboi6576

i am LOSING IT this chapter my five hard earned dollars are so worth it to get the scoop early fr

Aria

david is the star of this chapter. in some chapters i feel a character fulfills The Average BCB Reader Reaction and this chapter it is him

Aria

let my girl live her drama free life!!! (except not really because this is juicy reading GIVE ME ALL THE DRAMA)

Aria

i disagree--it wasn't provoked, at least in the moment it specifically happened. mike (unintentionally) bottled his feelings and waited to blow up until lucy was both no longer willing to fight back and was genuinely trying to be a better friend to him. this doesn't excuse lucy's past bullying of mike (i hope that goes without saying), of course. but that doesn't give mike a free pass to bully her back in a different way when nothing she was doing in the moment prompted it. it wasn't self defense on mike's part, it was a desire to intentionally hurt someone back that had hurt him before because he never knew how to make space for his hurt and anger towards lucy before this. which is of course very teenager of him, but now we're watching the teenage consequences pan out..... and it makes a damn good comic!!!

Aria

Repeat what he said to her to her. Autocorrect deleting practically the entire point of the sentence

Fiver

Hey maybe don't have him repeat what he said to her? Maybe?

Fiver

*sprints for cover* HIT THE DECK!

Valiant_bird

Mike: She got cooties! James: O_O David: AAAHH!!! COOTIES!!! (runs away) Augustus: Not that terrible thing! Lucy: >:(

SCD

Man, I'm so excited. There are so many very obvious issues with what is happening here--but how else was this going to go down?? Mike and Lucy have been tiptoeing around this garbage for *so long*. I'm really curious about what this is going to unearth, if anything?

Comacoma

YOU CAN DO THIS MIKE

I get the feeling that the "line in the sand" title is meant to be for Augustus. Even though it sounds like a word play on Sandys' name.

WitchDoll

While I feel like this is a situation that will never be healed by ignoring it, I somehow doubt that reopening old wounds on the track field with mixed company will provide the healing that anyone needs.

M0use

I agree that Mike need to finally owe up and give Lucy a true genuine apology and vice versa so they can finally heal and make amends But I disagree that this should be the way to finally get everything out. August is forcing it and could destroy any chance for a real and genuine healing. All this is gonna do is make Lucy push or isolate herself further. And this will make Mike spiral even more and sabotage himself and everything else. This isn't genuine, it's destructive. August is on a war path for his own sake, and what he believed is helping Lucy. He won't stop till he thoroughly beats Mike to the ground and make sure he loses everything

Look, I don't hate Mike completely- I am mad at his character for how he treated Lucy. Again, Lucy tried to apologise when she saw what she was doing to Mike but he shut it down and that's when he tore her down and apart. I understand if someone hurt you but if they are trying to apologize and take responsibility for their actions- that's what's important. You don't have to forgive that person but they at least saw their ways and wanted to change that. Mike was a jerk for tearing into her like he did when she was trying to fix the situation at hand. Yes she messed up, but Mike and Lucy show us how human we all are (metaphorically speaking since they are cats lol) but I'm so ready for Mike to finally own up to his crap. Lucy deserves an apology. A real and honest one. Is auggie doing it right? Probably not but it's bringing all of it to a head and I'm hoping Mike finally spills it all out right here for both his and Lucy's sake. They both need the closure and Lucy needs that true apology.

Sky TheTiny'mhytee

Even with all this Mike gets off easy. He’s a slime ball coward

Kauphy

If Mike is forced to repeat the things he said to Lucy, I really hope James also asks the question of why. I feel like everyone there needs a reminder that it wasn't unprovoked, including Mike

Kiall Vun Myeret

As much as I want Mike to take accountability and give a much more heartfelt apology to Lucy, she CLEARLY doesnt appreciate what Gus is trying to do right now. Lucy just wants to be left alone and not get dragged into drama, man

esinololly

Augustus is genuinely sick of Mike and probably tired of seeing Lucy tweak whenever he shows up. I’m really curious how this unfolds. The draaaaaaamaaaa

Aesthete Noire

consider how Lucy behaves when anyone treats her differently because of her trauma. of course she doesn't want anyone to know. and even if Mike's the one to say it, it's blatantly obvious who pressured him into it. this is an absurd breach of trust on Augustus' part. for fuck's sake dude, she wanted to help you escape your past, not hire a bodyguard

SomeColourMage

Good on Mike for acknowledging Lucy right away — not running away, lying or changing the subject. I wonder if Mike’s guilt is going to make him spill everything right here or if Lucy (or something/someone else) stops him before he can.

whiteboypizza

Mike haters are eating good (Me I’m a hater)

Frejya

I love guard dog Augustus. Also David just eating his popcorn while watching asindbdkebdmek

Elisa

Way to break someone's trust and bring up their trauma again

Yewsea

Oh boy.. Maybe Lucy doesn't want to hear it again my dude?

DreamerKay

Man will not rest till he fully drags Mike through the mud and make sure he fully suffers
