Figure Drawing: Week 19

Hey!!! We’re back!!

Souppy’s mother was visiting at the time and I still was being consistent with attending these classes! Aren’t I such a good student? Anyway, let’s begin!

Got another really nice model, who talked about her mother (A famous sculpter who lived till 102!! I couldn’t catch the name :() having her at 40.

The model proceeded to have child at 17, and the child had a daughter short of 16. She’s 64 with a 34 year old granddaughter! Way to switch it up!! Anyway, here are the 1s!

And the 2s. I was annoyed over this because of the charcoal. When the willow charcoal is pointy, it feels so nice :| like a dream, but if I used it enough it shapes into this

Which is dull as hell and makes for some consistently thick lineart. WHICH SUCKS!!!! I hate it!! It makes me sketch in a blobby thick way and it’s difficult to maneuver, making for some messy blobby lineart. Which makes me want to correct it. Which makes for thicker shitty sketches. NOT GOOD

I was beginning to feel my groove by the end of these 5s. This is the first time a model hasn’t tied their hair, which made me measure her neck incorrectly :( her neck in the top-right looks like a giraffe noooooo

Man I was struggling so much with the first 10-minute sketch. I mis-measured several times to my detriment. The second turned out so much better, the model even walked by it and complimented it ;___;

The 20min!! Again I made her head too dang big. I have so much trouble measuring the head to the shoulders, the collarbone is my biggest weakness. I still kinda liked how it looked though :( just makes me wish I could traditionally photoshop it, just gotta resize the head a little bit...

The 2s and 5s on one page. Again, got frustrated at the thickness of the charcoal, so I tried to break it with my nail, and that’s when I sketched the second 5 minute pose. Maybe it’s because the figures are so small and I should be drawing bigger :|||| ughhhhhh I dunno. Maybe I’m just not having a good day.

The 20-minute! It definitely does feel better to draw bigger, but maybe that means I should just be sharpening my charcoals ;__; I like the collage look I’ve been doing!! Dhdjjdjdjdh

And that’s it!! Thanks for reading!!
