ML25 Event Idea Request!
Added 2025-05-21 14:57:06 +0000 UTCHi Patrons, we are now preparing the Marble League 2025 and already wrapped up the Qualification recordings. If you have ideas for events for ML2025 there's still time left.
Event types:
1by1: These event has 16 heats (excl example heat) where 1 marble or 1 team performs at a time (like Balancing, Rafting, Domino Bowling, etc)
Bracket: 2 marbles or 2 teams perform against each other where the winner advances to the next round (like curling, team aquathlon, team pursuit, etc)
Tournament: also 2 teams against each other in each heat, but the teams are divided in 4 groups with 4 teams each. The winner and runner-up of each group advances to the knockout stage.
4-team lineup: The first round has 4 heats with 4 marbles / teams performing at the same time where the best 2 advances to the semi finals, there the best 2 advances to the final (like 5m events, indoor triathlon, etc)
8-team lineup: Consists of 2 heats with 8 marbles/teams at the same time where the best 4 of each group advances to the final heat (like outdoor triathlon)
16-team lineup: Has just one long run/heat with all 16 marbles / teams performing at the same time. (like sand rally, M1-style races)
Idea requirements:
Recommend to fit the Western theme (O'rangers as host)
Number of team members (individual, duo, trio, team) doesn't matter
Recommend to allow at least 4 teams perform at the same time (1by1, bracket or tournament events are possible but kept to a minimum to reduce workload)
Not too complex to build the tracks / equipment
Usage of Hubelino / Skyrail / Gravitrax should be avoided to reduce risk of bias, however we can accept ideas using these toys provided that the event will be interesting enough to watch.
Please leave a comment if you have ideas, we will check comments at 28th May to sum up the ideas, then we will post a poll for the best ideas.

The finish line is designed so that the center area yields the lowest score, while the sides yield the highest scores. The total score from both runs determines the team's final result. I have a design diagram for this event—I'd be happy to share it with you for evaluation if you're interested.
