Dear Patrons,
it's been a busy time again and we have a lot of exciting updates for you. We are very happy about the reactions to the first Showdown event and can't wait to upload the rest! But let's go through the updates at first.
You may have noticed in the video title of the first Showdown event that we changed the name of the MarbleLympics. The reason behind that is pretty simple: We want to avoid any problems with the IOC and USOC, who have exclusive rights to the name Olympics and any variations of it. It wasn't an easy decision for sure, but we are happy now and feel safe again. We left some banners still saying MarbleLympics in the Showdown as a sweet goodbye to that brilliant name.
Another exciting news is that we have our first major sponsor! SeatGeek is a mobile-focused ticket platform that enables users to buy and sell tickets for live sports, concerts and theater events. You can use the promo code "JMR" to get $20 off your first SeatGeek purchase! We are very happy that SeatGeek agreed with us that the sponsorship should be as immersive as possible, to not disturb the feel of the Marble League. If everything goes well in the Showdown, they will continue to sponsor our channel in general and this will open a lot of opportunities for us!
Now this is something that we're really excited about: We're planning to start a completely new tournament for the off-season, with regular racing weekends. It will be Formula 1 for marbles basically and we plan to use the ML teams, to give them additional screen time through the year. The tracks will be lap based, which means that there needs to be some mechanism to get the marbles back up. Currently, we plan to use a very wide conveyor belt with a lot of pickups and moving really fast, to not disturb the action. We hope to start the construction and testing of the first track very soon, once the Showdown is produced and some episodes of the Marble Rally recorded! We will share the test footage with you here of course and if you have any suggestions we will be more than happy to receive them!
Oh, and if you're wondering if we completely went mad for using another variation of a trademarked brand: Don't worry! We reached out to the F1 trademark department and they assured that they have no issue with us referring to the series as Marbula One! They only requested that we don't make it look like we're affiliated with F1 in any way and we will make sure to respect that, of course. We are so happy and thankful about this - That's very very kind of F1.
Alright, that's it for now! Thank you so much for your support, especially in difficult times like this. We are so blessed to have you all in our community and we hope that we will continue to entertain you in the best and most unique way possible!
