I love this episode as I love all the solos and duets in this episode and I do love that we get more Mercedes here I just really don't like her attitude here. Double casting and/or having an understudy is always a good thing to do with the lead and personally I thought they were both equally great with that song. I did not think one was better than the other it was just a fantastic duet to me. I too though would have preferred they did a song from West Side Story though as thats typically what is done at a callback so you can see who is the best Maria. Because like you mentioned in the show its not about talent but who is right for the role. As for Will and Emma while I love the song and how he sings it I am not sure that would be the song I would have sang to someone going through what Emma was going through with her OCD. The line of "I will try to fix you" to me makes it sound like he is saying she needs to be fixed. I don't know what song I would have chosen but I just think the lyrics of that song are not the best for that particular situation. I also loved meeting Mikes parents and getting a back story for him as hes the real unsung hero in this show!!!! Also seeing him now in Grey's Anatomy playing a surgical intern makes me laugh at his line of not wanting to be a surgeon. And I loved how supportive his mom was and how they danced together it was a really nice scene.

2025-05-12 07:56:51 +0000 UTCI get what you mean about anxiety. My OCD in terms of wanting everything perfect was really bad as a teenager. I remember on night I could not rest until my bed sheet was perfectly centered on each side of the bed. I think I spent 30 minutes straightening it out before I could finally sleep. Maybe I should check that app out? Glees serious issues weren’t always done with the upmost delicately but I think this is one of the times it was. Also her parents have to be making fun of the racists that were against Obama at the time. As for the episode, it’s ironic that they try to depict Mercedes as a bad/lazy dancer when in reality, Amber Riley would go on to be the first black women to win Dancing With The Stars only 2 years from now. Check the tapes and you can see that she never really had an issue with the choreography. Even in the TroubleTones numbers, she is fully singing and dancing at the same time. And Mr. Schue was mean to her out of know where too.
