okay so im currently watching the part of the Enchanted reaction. While i must say you make some very convincing points, I still want to challenge your thought process with a question that you asked previously. That question is, "If it's easier for her vocally, is it not gonna convey the feeling as much?". While i wholeheartedly agree with you on Never Grow Up being much more conveying on Taylor's Version, i can't agree with you on Enchanted. I'm still loving this reaction though and cant wait to see more!

2025-07-05 22:36:36 +0000 UTCTHANK YOU!! I have been a The Story Of Us stan for so long! I was so excited when Taylor's Version was coming out, and was left disappointed when it came out. For me, there are a lot of production choices that are very questionable and completely changes the song for the worse. Like you said, the instruments feel muted, but some of them are also non existent! For example, when she says "Next chapter" in the og version, there's a mini bass riff right after that line, but it TV it is gone. There's so much more that is missing. In the lyrics "Oh, a simple complication, miscommunications lead to fall out" there is an acoustic guitar thats strumming in the background, along with an electric guitar that picking at different strings, but in TV those elements are missing. AND THEN in the next line "So many things that i wish you knew, so many walls up i cant break through" There's another acoustic guitar picking at notes in the background that isnt in Taylor's Version. I'm so passionate about this song lol

2025-03-29 18:12:36 +0000 UTCSpeak Now is very hot and cold for me, the vast majority of the songs I feel are superior on the OG, because they were all so personal to her so I think the emotion comes through better BUT on a few like Enchanted that weren’t as intense as others I like the vocals better on TV so it’s a bit of a toss up

Like compilations of clips? There are videos on YouTube like “Taylor Swift being herself for X minutes” for example, which I think you might find entertaining given how much you enjoy her dorky moments haha. No worries if not but I thought I would mention it in case it sounds interesting to you!

I definitely have attachments to the original songs, but to support taylor I will always play her versions!

2025-03-29 04:05:26 +0000 UTCI feel like with the pop punk vibes of the original speak now album, it really kinda pulls from her teenage angst, with the Taylors versions she doesn't necessarily have that angst anymore so it feels like she's done a more "adult/mature" version, maybe to symbolize some sort of growth but keep the idea? idk, but a lot of the slower songs she's really shining cause I feel like a lot of those songs needed more life experience and perspective to genuinely land

Sonically, I super prefer the OG’s because it just takes me back to that time in my life! I have both the OG’s and TV’s downloaded on Spotify 🤷🏼♀️ I’m soooo interested to see how different she will sound on her Debut re-recording!!
