First off, how dare Sue compare herself to Lex Luthor, the blasphemy!!! And she should have been fired and arrested in Season 1 Episode 1 (actually much sooner based on the numerous flash backs)! Also, the 1 person I love with Rachel more than Finn is Jesse!!

Lucile Byrd

Late comment but Sam and Rachel weren't dating she calls him friend and he doesn't say anything. They weren't in love

I loved everything about this episode.... except Sue. She was finally starting to become like the old Sue; mean and horrible but still funny and, in rare occasions, actually kind. She should've already been in prison for bullying and physically assaulting people over the years but this is just absurd. Had glitter bomps sent to students in packages, blew up the choir room piano, poisoned the school's water which made everyone sick, set fire to Will's car, showed Vocal Adrenaline a video of literal Nazis as if it is something to aspire to and mocked Sheldon in spite of having been supporting him in his transition (not to mention she still coached VA in spite of their blatant transphobia). And after all that she made herself out to be the good guy because she supposedly sabotaged Vocal Adrenaline so the New Directions would win. Whatever her intensions were, ND deserved to WIN. VA's first song was good but then it just became too much. I don't really have an opinion on whether Rachel should be in NYADA or on Broadway. I see both sides. It's what Rachel chooses to do will. But I agree her mistake was leaving Funny Girl, her dream role, to do that horrible TV show. That duet between Rachel and Jesse is incredibly underrated. It's one of the best Glee performances ever in my opinion. Not only do these two sound AMAZING together but they have SO much chemistry (which is of course mainly due to Lea and Jonathan's real life friendship). Sorry but her and Sam are nothing compared to them. I felt bad for Sam though because aren't they still technically dating in this ep? The trophy flashbacks had me sobbing, especially seeing Cory and Naya. 💔 Also, this isn't exactly a spoiler but just so you know next episode is kind of the pilot from other perspectives. There is only one more episode that happens in present day.

Heida

Yes glad it wasn't Brittany and that Brittany got to see how One Tree Hill ended :)

Although most jobs appreciate experience, I do think school in any subject just provides a foundation of knowledge that helps people to navigate through their jobs more effectively especially when they are just starting out. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with what Rachel chose, but I do see from her viewpoint that going to college could help her appreciate that foundational knowledge. She knows she has the talent, and she knows the fame and fortune will come eventually, so why not get the foundation and build relationships while she's still young? She can always do smaller parts while in school to build up her resume and really learn the business side of things, but still have school to be able to help her reflect in those challenges in real time without catastrophic consequences.

Kenyatta (KD) Smith

I think that's the point and what a lot of us forget is that at this point, they're only 20. I know myself at that age wasn't very mature at all, and I made a lot of dumb decisions. 20 isn't any different from being a teenager, even teen is no longer attached to your age. I wouldn't expect Rachel to be all that humble because until this last year of life, she hadn't experienced any real hardships outside of school.

Mia

But I think that's the lack of maturity. I think college will offer a chance to mature and plan for her future.

Mia

Personally, I agree with others about the college thing. I even thought this when I watched it was a college sophomore. I think one of the problems was she wasn't mature enough. From the start, she thought she knew more, which is why Cassie pushed her so hard. It's one thing to have innate talent, but it's wholly another to take the time to nurture your gifts and wait for your peak. She tried to rush her career without any real thought about the future, and I think going back to school will provide her the time to form relationships/connections, gain experience, mature, and plan. On a side note, Lea and Jonathan were laughing basically the entire time whilst performing Listen to Your Heart. Neither of them could take it very seriously.

Mia

I think for Rachel, school was the right choice. Sometimes you need that extra time before the real world hits you.

Mia

So emotional! But still needs to be done as a full 2 episode event

I have been biting my tongue about Sam and Rachel knowing that Jesse was coming back. Your reaction did not disappoint. :-) Sam was a cute interim rebound. To be honest, I always felt Jesse was a better fit than Finn for Rachel because he also had the "show drive" and instinctively understood her. I always felt Rachel would never be happy coming home to be with Finn in Lima - even though that was the plan. As an adult I never understood the fans' "Finchel" obsession, but I was also way older than they were so I had some real life perspective even back then. And I also remember back in the day hearing that Lea specifically chose Jonathan for her story, saying she was more comfortable acting coupley with him after Cory died. I totally agree with you about Sue. 100%. But even if she hadn't done all that psychological crap I think the New Directions deserved to win because they featured several different soloists and were just a better CHOIR (Myron and that weird bodysuit notwithstanding...). Roderick killed Take Me To Church (literal goosebumps!) as did Mason and Madison on their songs - and Spencer riding in on the chandelier was just awesome. And Kitty was just the icing on most of the songs along with the Warbler acrobatics. Fortune Feemster (the poodle lady) is a really, really close friend of Chris Colfer and a hilarious comedian. So this was definitely a fun episode. Oh, and I cried seeing Finn! And on a side note: I am SUPER excited to watch the Glee Project with you being all Simon Cowell, because some of the contestants are just... you'll see. At least Alex is in Season 1. Can't wait to see you react to them!!!

Jill

Yes, Anna Camp! Thank you 🤣

JustAlyssa87

I feel like she'd be better off watching it sitting down, cuddling her dog for comfort and some tissues lol. Because its gonna get we emotional lol

Jennifer Lawrence

Yeah, what he described sounded really bad. And I'm not even sure it'd fit into the "so bad its good" category lol

Jennifer Lawrence

Anna Camp? I wanna say, lol

Jennifer Lawrence

She did watch the Spring Awakening reunion movie a while back. But, she may have forgotten lol. I feel like she's going to need tissues for the last couple of episodes. I know I always do. Especially with all the flashbacks to when they were just "babies", as far as the show is concerned.

Jennifer Lawrence

Jonathan Groff as Jesse was the only reason I tuned back in toward the end. He's magic.

Alicia

i personally see why rachel going back to college is the right choice. it’s more about maturing and i think nyada will help rebuild her to where she needs to be focus wise. she got lost in the thrill of becoming a star she forgot why she was doing it in the first place

Lu

ugh, i will never not cry seeing the ending of this episode. All those flashbacks DESTROYED me when I first watched this episode and to this day, it hasn't gotten easier. Especially seeing Finn there :( Gotta admit, while I never liked Jesse, and I would've been happy for Rachel to just stay single, I think he fits better to her than Sam does. Also, you probably know this but Jonathan and Lea are best friends irl so thats why they probably have so much chemistry together... AND THEIR VOICES!! ugh 😩🙌🏼 Also I was so waiting for your reaction to Chandelier and what they did during the song... i was not disappointed😂

Patrick Rivera

I love that at this point I know exactly which moments are gonna make Audrey tear up or cry 🥹 I knew you’ll tear up seeing Finn with the trophy 🥹

Samir

Omg only couple eps left! How crazy

Jackie Warner

That last part got me a little bit teary-eyed not gonna lie haha seeing all the other trophies from the previous competitions was a very good touch for the episode before the 2-part finale

Manfred

Ahhh Listen To Your Heart is my FAVORITE duet, possibly in the entire show (it wrestles in my brain with “Faithfully” for the #1 spot 😂) I’m so glad Jesse came back, I think he and Rachel make sooo much more sense, plus Lea and Jonathan have chemistry that just…it’s unmatched. They always look at each other like they’re DTF. Anywho, I’m one of those that agrees that college is a great choice for Rachel. She’s already a terrific natural performer, now she just needs to experience adult life experiences that DON’T involve working. She needs socialization and to learn how to collaborate with others. Again, I do believe this reflects Lea’s real life as she chose not to go to college and just kept working and I think she missed out on some serious social skills. I mean, she has said Jonathan was her first real best friend and they met when she was like 19. I actually enjoy this sectionals performance. If this cast of kids had been developed from season 4 maybe the show would have lasted longer, they’re definitely more interesting. And I’m glad they brought back the season 1 sectionals judges - minus the blonde one who had become more famous but I can’t remember her name right now, but she was in Pitch Perfect lol.

JustAlyssa87

This is another episode I think is kind of underrated. Really good songs, tho Jane should have had a bigger part in the girls #, and I LOVE that they brought back Donna Landricts. If you don’t remember, she was a judge on the very 1st sectionals in s1. Her lines are hilarious and I adore the throwback! With the Rachel thing, you make some very good points. I like that she choose the path that would help educate her more and help with her maturity, and Kurt has always been one of her biggest voices of reason. But it did come up very randomly and if it never happened, or if she chose the role, I honestly won’t care. With the whole Sue thing, I agree that her reasoning was good but actions were not. I’m glad the writers knew it too because Schue didn’t want to thank her. At this point it’s just entertaining to me. Also side note: Rachel and Jessie obviously get back together (kind of) this episode, but her and Sam never had an official breakup. 🤨 And she called him just a friend. Weird.

Selma Jabr

As much as I liked Sam and Rachel, her and Jessie Makes way more since if it couldn't be Finn.

Jeanette Dawe

I love hearing your story and I agree that going back to college is what's best for Rachel. She needs to get her bad habits out of her system and she needs college to grow and appreciate the system. Rachel is the type of character that truly needs to humble herself. I think going to school will help her to appreciate being in show and finding ways to maybe be able to stick to a show for a long time. I mean Rachel couldn't stick to a show for more than three months, she needs more grounding before she can move on in her career.

Turnip Crazy

On the whole nyada vs musical thing; does it make a difference if the musical is a pile of shite? Cause we are lead to believe by jessies description that its gonna be most likely awful imo, so if she chose that and it was a huge flop would that still be the better choice? Im just curious. I personally agree with your opinion college isnt always necessary, but i just wanna know if that would make a difference? Also your laugh is so infectiously, adorable and dorky btw 😄

Alex Foster

I’m just glad it wasn’t Brittany 🤣

Annie Willow

I was really hoping you’d do a special 2 hr walk and watch and do the 2 hour series finale in one sitting but I guess you’re spreading it out. I really can’t wait to see your reaction to the next ep, its a trip!

Zach Davis

I was thinking that too!

Zach Davis

I wanna tell a lil story on my perspective on Rachel: I come from a family of Broadway performers. 4 to be exact. 3 did not go to college. 1 went to dancing conservatory. And I’ve been performing since I was like 8. I was getting the “go straight for auditioning, don’t go to college” starting at around 15. And I really had no plans to go to college at all. I mean why would I? I had the privilege of connections. I had the talent. I was set! Then I decided to drop out of highschool my junior year because my ex had passed away and I just had this feeling of I just want to get out and live my life NOW! Why wait? Cause you may never get to. I had a good month or two before my life plummeted. Everything I was working towards was crumbling. Workshops I was scheduled for, concerts, cabarets, readings. I had no clue what the hell I was doing. I had no structure for myself and I fumbled bad. So I decided to finish highschool online. I got my grades high enough to get excepted into a BFA musical theatre program and it changed my life. I learned not only so much about the industry and being a performer. But I learned so much about myself and I literally changed into a whole new human being for the better. I got kicked off a show freshman year because I was overheard talking badly about the show in the bathroom. I got in trouble for not showing up to a studio class. I would skip dance and smoke weed in the parking lot lol. I did it all. But I got to learn and get all of this shit out of my system in the safety net of an education. It’s better to crash and burn in an environment that is meant for that than your high profile, professional workplace. Anyway I went from highschool drop out with no motivation or respect for authority to ending my college career working alongside Lin Manuel Miranda on his show Freestyle Love Supreme as his PA/intern. And If you told me in my Rachel Berry rut era that I would have gotten myself out of that hole to get to that point I would have spit in your face and called the cops cause you’re clearly crazy 😂. My point is that we all have our own experiences with education. Everyone has their own unique skill sets. Some people just need help nurturing those skills in a safe and free environment. And personally I see a lot of Rachel in my old self (which is why I detest her sometimes 😂) and I see a girl who has no idea what she’s doing and is scared. Usually people don’t get second chances like her. She knows herself better now then ever. I trust her decision 100% and I don’t think it’s writer manipulation making me feel that way. I mean they can’t even get me to believe Kurt and Blaine like eachother 😂 (I kid. I kid lol) but no in all honesty I love this arch for Rachel. It shows strength and maturity which we havent really seen since the quarterback era of episodes and let’s be honest I think Finn would have supported her decision and been really proud of her growth to be able to make this decision.

Liv Heskett

I was so excited to see your reaction to Jesse coming back! I knew it would surprise you and feel much more "right" than Sam as a partner. I CAN'T WAIT to see your reaction to the next episode!!! It's a fun one!

Talia Shapiro

Well…Sue finally got to shoot someone out of a cannon.

Annie Willow

Firstly, the duet between Jesse and Rachel is by far one of my absolute FAVORITES of this season. I practice it a lot, and Jesse’s notes are super high! Secondly: Rachel deciding to go back to NYADA, I actually think it was a smart decision. I mean, like Jesse said, she didn’t take the easy way back to New York, and she made the decision on her own. Thirdly: the reason the trophies weren’t in the case to begin with; that choir room had been changed a lot, so they had to keep the trophies out of the case, to prepare to pack them up. Fourthly: Give Sue a little more time; she is gonna surprise you with what she does at the end of this series. Lastly: I feel Spencer’s pain, somewhat. My freshman year of high school, I tore my ACL, and instead of doing the surgery, my doctor decided to immobilize the leg and allowing it to heal on its own. It never healed right.

Lucario Stormblade007

I do agree that she doesn't need college to pursue her dream however one thing I will say is that when Jesse St James went over what the musical is about it did sound really terrible and makes me think she dodged a bullet with that musical. But I do agree that the mistake she made wasn't quiting NYADA but was doing the TV show over Funny Girl. It just never made sense to me that she got so bored of doing Funny Girl so fast since that was always her dream.

Lydia Shepard

I was so excited that Donna Landries the season 1 Sectionals judge came back. "There is no way these groups can be worse than the last time.... And then. they. WERE." HAHA. Great way to wrap up the trend of having these supremely unqualified judges at these competitions lol. Sue blasting two Vocal Adrenalines out of the cannons was a great nod back to Season 2 when she almost fired Brittany out of one for Cheerios. The New Directions songs were SO good. Madison really wasn't featured vocally up to this point (in my opinion) and Chandelier was such a good powerhouse song to end her character on. The flashbacks to their past trophies made me cry watching this reaction. It took me back to my 19 year old self watching this episode for the first time and not being ready to say goodbye to the show. When I first started following I was like there's no way this woman is going to react to all 121 episodes. But you did! Thanks for this awesome community. :') I completely agree with your perspective on Sue. The Glee fandom has become so notorious for bagging on Will Schuester and saying Sue was the good guy all along, and I completely disagree. While there were indeed some inappropriate moments on Will's part (ie. Toxic, Blurred Lines), NEVER did he physically or verbally assault a student, destroy property, etc. As a viewer, I can totally enjoy the over-the-top comedy that Sue is written to provide, but I would never ever argue that I'd consider her a good person in real life.

Landon Ballesteros

I get chills when Rachel and Jesse sing together, lol. Sam and Rachel are cute, but, Jonathan and Lea have so much more chemistry. Probably because of their history together going back to Spring Awakening. As well as the feelings that Lea had for him at that time. Also, Rachel and Jesse have more in common as far as their life goals and dreams.
