Most fans think this is a reference to the fact that Taylor and Jake are both fire signs hence twin flames. But the twin flame bruise to me means they were twin flame soul mates and she was left bruised by its ending. And lost half her weight is in reference to being broken down for sure. A few songs you should react to or bookmark for the red reaction that will further explain this song and its references are the moment I knew (references the birthday party Jake didnβt come to and was on the original red release in 2012, she recorded it the day after her party and there are pap photos of her looking upset entering the studio) then thereβs begin again (also on the original red release about her falling for someone new and nice after Jake and feeling awkward about this new guy laughing at her jokes bc Jake always said she wasnβt funny) I bet you think about me ( from the vault released in 2021 on Taylorβs version another reference to him not finding her funny βyou laughed at my dreams, rolled your eyes at my jokes.β She used this reference to connect to βI wa a never good at telling jokes but the punchline goesβ¦β she also heavily references songs like we are never ever ever getting back together also n the og red album about Jake.)
