I am living for the Kitty&Artie crumbs in this episode. Give them back to me!!! <3 Absolutely love the message in this episode.

Pauline

One thing that tickles my brain about the "I Know Where I've Been" number, besides the beautiful harmonies and messaging, is knowing that Matthew Morrison (Will Schuester) was Link Larkin in the Original Broadway Cast of Hairspray. Much in the same way that it was satisfying to have Rachel/Kurt/Mercedes sing "Defying Gravity" in front of the original Glinda (April Rhodes), and letting Kristin Chenoweth say, "That song should be on the Broadway." I love homages to actors' resumes. :)

Jennifer Sauer

I forgot about this episode, I was wondering when Wil was finally back in New Directions and now I know. And yes, next episode is a doozy.

Wayne Joy

I can't wait for next episode which I consider . and should've been, the big finale.

Capri Zonica

This was the episode that really made it start to hit home that it was the final season. I had stopped watching living during 4 and really only watched the Quarterback for 5, but I knew I had to watch 6. It felt like the end of an era. I was a baby freshman in hs when the show started and a college sophomore when it ended.

Mia

I'm sorry you interpreted my comment as in I don't respect it just because it doesn't make sense to me, because I do. First of all, even though a lot of people can relate to the characters, this is a TV show. Second of all, there are trans people who feel the same way I do because Shannon represented women who look more masculine but still feel very feminine on the inside. That was her whole character arc. I get it's not uncommon for a person to surpress their feelings and identity in this way, but it's also kind of giving the message that being a masculine cis woman isn't a valid identity. Gender non-conforming characters are important even when they’re cis, and it really feels like they just chose Beiste because of some false impression that trans men are masculine women who don’t fit in. If they wanted to have a character transition then Unique was right there. Or just create an entirely new character that is actually played by a trans actor. Actors are actors, their job literally pretending to be someone else. But when cis people play trans people on TV and in movies, it not only robs trans actors of opportunities but it's almost like reinforcing the idea that trans people are just cis people playing dress up. I hope you get where I'm coming from but I also know I may not be the most qualified to discuss this.

Heida

Next episode is THE EPISODE!!!! I agree the Dave/Blaine breakup was rushed it should have been at least been hinted at last ep to lead into the breakup this ep i also really wish Blaine confessed at the end as well! but glee loves prolonging drama LOL. I actually love Sam and Rachel together, Sam is such a safe person after the whole Brody crap but like you said Sam's more Mr Right Now not Mr Right.

Gigi

I found a solution to my comment problem, I just signed into my account via the internet and I now know what all the comments say 😂

Sophie R

Will rapping that song is a hard watch, lol. I love the party in Rachel’s basement, the songs were pretty great. I agree with you, season 6 is back to the good glee imo. As for Rachel and Sam, idk how I feel about them. I love boyfriend Sam he’s such a cutie, there’s just not a whole lot of chemistry. I never really thought about it but yeah, Clint’s accent is weird af (I’m British and my knowledge of different American accents is definitely limited but something about it just sounds off). I think that’s everything I wanted to say about the episode, there’s a lot in it tho to be fair. Can’t wait for the next episode though :)). Side note - and this is definitely not anything your fault, I think my iPad is the problem tbh - but I can’t click the see more button on people’s comments so I’m just having to read the top parts and figure out what’s in the rest from your replies lmao 🤣.

Sophie R

Whaat😭 i missed it, noo💔

Patrick Rivera

Hey I'd like to preface this with I know you're not trying to be disrespectful about it all all just can't think of another word other than respected right now. The thing with trans identities is that it doesn't have to make sense to you. In fact most trans people at some point will have someone say that them being trans doesn't make sense to someone. Our identities don't have to make sense to you for it to be respected, they just have to make sense to us.

Jay Johnston

Next episode is a wedding! Will you dress up to watch!? This ep was the best I’ve seen in a while. Atleast for this season, very grounded and true to what Glee stands for. And yes, they knew it was ending.

Zach Davis

I never listened to them that much but yeah it was tragic. He was married with two young children as well.

Heida

Yes EXACTLY! It makes them both feel safe, it’s comfortable and fun, and let’s them both know they’re not dead from the neck down if ya know what I mean lol.

JustAlyssa87

I prefer Blaine & Dave than Rachel & Sam😂 I completely forgot they had this plot but I only watched later seasons when it aired back in day. Can't believe we have like 6 weeks left!

Jackie Warner

It seemed like they played up the cringe this time and made it worse

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I know I've watched that video before. I feel like I did react to it during a live event a LONG time ago

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Sam's not Mr Right but he's Mr Right Now

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

oh really the next episode?? oooh! ok!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

oh thats so true! Thats amazing representation for 2015!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

oh thats so sad about Tom. 33 is so young!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

yea the accent was weird

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Sams been around hahah

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Will rapping this song is hands down one of the cringiest things that happened on the show it’s really painful to watch 🫠🫠

Samir

i completely forgot about the beginning of the episode with Will rapping...💀💀 I never had that big of a problem with him rapping but when this episode first aired, something in me just clicked and I cringed SO hard (still do!!) and I started to understand why people hate him rapping so much. And from then on I could never listen to him rap again without feeling sick 😂🤢 While I still don't like that they used Beiste for the transgender storyline, I'm glad we got "I know where I've been" out of it. It is by far my most favorite song from Unique and, probably, in my top 10 glee covers. It's just so so good, and when the choir came on, I BAWLED the first time watching it. I still got teary eyed watching this reaction lol Also, I think this is a good time (and probably the last time) for me to request if you could pleaaaaase react to Alex Newells version of this song with the Boston Gay Men's Chorus https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVfxZvBaTmQ I honestly prefer it to the glee version AND my life depends on your reaction to THAT note at the end

Patrick Rivera

That's right! Lmao

Jennifer Lawrence

I really feel like this season did truly bring us back to old school Glee formula, where the songs fit the plot rather than the plot being written around whatever top 40 hit they were trying the shoe-horn in. And each episode has a theme woven through the story. The title Transitioning is reflected in all of the major plot points. The obvious main focus is Beiste’s transitioning and finding acceptance, but it is also reflected in Rachel’s story. Her staying in Lima is an obvious transition in process, eventually she will move on from there back to Broadway where she was always meant to be, and her relationship with Sam is a transition from being in mourning to being ready for her person. Sam is not the one for her, but he’s a safe transition back into dating and vice versa. That’s why I like them together, I appreciate them for what they were, a transitional relationship. Same with Mr. Schue coming back to New Directions. He’s transitioning to a deeper appreciation for teaching. I know people have a hate on for him, but he really does love and care about the kids he teaches. I’m excited for the next episode, it’s one of my favorites of season 6. Can’t believe Glee watch parties are almost done 😭

JustAlyssa87

I didn't know that about Blaines bow tie OMG

Wrenretro

this episode is such a feel good episode (other than will shuester rapping). The "I know where I've been" is so powerful and I love uniques vocals on it, Alex newell is just so incredibly talented. I love Emmas words on how will should try to do what he loves for their sun to inspire him and not stay somewhere he's so unhappy. to me it was inevitable that will ended up back at McKinley because it allows Kurt and Rachel to expand outward again without any repercussions on the glee club. I love Rachels going away party and while I don't see a ton of chemistry behind sam and Rachel I love how sam comforts her through this tough time. Personally I'm going through a really hard time with finding myself after high school Rachels sadness of giving up childhood is something I relate too. while none of us loved beiste's ftm transition I do appreciate how they handled it, while most of it was very highly stereotyped I love the scene between unique and him in the locker room and him saying that he doesn't always want to be unique he wants to be seen as he truly is and as someone who's genderqueer I feel the same way and it causes me to get down on myself. Just a lot of relatability in one episode for me. Finally Kurt and Blaine GOODNESS, I love love their duet and the reminiscing that leads up to the kiss. that kiss is so good although i'm a sucker for any klaine kisses. I can totally understand why Blaine left in a panic. I do feel Kurt and Blaines rekindling was INSANELY rushed but this is a short season and I was always pleased with how they handled it in the end. Blaine and Daves break up was very sweet to me and I do agree Dave should've been more upset and I would've liked if Blaine took a breather before running to Kurt too because they had played up Dave and his relationship so much. Like even if Blaine was still in love with Kurt he should've taken time to process the loss of that previous relationship and got his emotions together, given there was more time allotted in the season. It's one of the most unsatisfying scenes seeing Blaine holding back on confessing to Kurt anyway and with what comes next episode the scene was entirely unnecessary other than showing Rachel and sam and Kurt and Walter were still a thing. I feel Kurt not communicating that Blaine kissed him with Walter just shows that his and Walters relationship is not that deep. anyway enough ranting on cause next episode is even better! ill be counting down the hours until its released in anticipation!!

Wrenretro

I 100% agree and was going to comment the same thing about Sam and Rachel. I think at times in Sam's dialogue it feels very much like Finn. I agree that she needed a safe place to begin exploring dating again and Sam really filled that.

Talia Shapiro

I love this episode! Such a damn good one. I completely agree that this season goes back to being what we all love about Glee. I think Rachel needed to date Sam. He’s kind of like Finn and she trusts him. He knew Finn. I don’t think she could’ve dated anyone else the first person after Finn’s death. I think he’s the right person at the right time even if it’s only for a while.

Georgia Beauchemin

I love this episode!! It’s one of the most underrated episodes in the whole show, and would be in my top 20 if I ever made a list. IKWIB is my favorite Unique solo and does not get the attention it deserves, and SLY is an underrated Klaine duet. I’m in total agreement about this season feeling very grounded. I think having the og cast back at McKinley was the smart move. And yes, the writers knew it was the last season. If you haven’t noticed already, it’s only 13 episodes so they definitely planned it out so everything would fit and they didn’t start something they couldn’t finish. Also fun fact: when Walter compliments Blaine’s bow tie, it’s the same one he wore when proposing to Kurt. A nice little Easter egg that the writers/costume department gave us. The last scene is a top 3 most powerful glee moment but gets forgotten about because it’s in s6. Every person in that choir (besides Dot) was trans IRL. Imagine you’re a closeted trans kid in 2015 and this comes on prime time tv. In the state of the world, you would feel seen. That’s the power and legacy that glee has that gets buried under the crazy one linears and plot lines. The only thing I don’t like is the absence of Brittana. You know they’re in town but they’re only in the show when dealing with the wedding. 🙄 But otherwise a great episode!

Selma Jabr

I love "I know where I've been" the long version is even better.

Sabrina Louis

Still not a huge fan of the Beiste trans storyline, only because it makes no sense to me, but "I Know Where I've Been" is such a powerful performance. Alex never fails to blow me away. Also, you were probably told this when you reacted to the performance but the choir is made up of 200 transgender individuals. Also, the reason VA was targeting Sheldon is 1. They're transphobic assholes and 2. He's friends with Will. Clint is played by Max George who is the lead singer in British-Irish boy band The Wanted (he is British). Their song Glad You Came was performed by Sebastian (Grant Gustin) and the Warblers in S3 Regionals. Other members of the band include Nathan Sykes, who sang the duet Almost Is Never Enough with Ariana, and Tom Parker, who tragically died from a brain tumour last year at age 33. I don't really like Rachel and Sam either but I love their duet of Time After Time. And I get how Rachel is feeling about having to say goodbye to her childhood home. Even though she already moved when she went to NY she's been living there since she came back, not to mention she thought her dads would continue to live there (so obviously she would have access). It's not the same situation but I was forced to move out of my childhood home 3 and a half years ago. It's way too complicated to get into but it still hurts like hell. It's different when it isn't your choice. And yes, they already decided S6 would be the last one. That's also why it only has 13 episodes.

Heida

Hello! I am responding to your comments on Clint from VA's accent. The actor is British and doing a fake American accent and i do not think it's good - it takes you out. Also I want to second very much what Jennifer said above about timelines. i love season 6 and i think one legit complaint is they only had 13 episodes and a lot to wrap up and some things do end up feeling a little rushed. I think next episode is one where that is definitely true.

Erin

Don’t forget Santana 😂 he literally dated or made out with every single one of the original glee girls 😂😂

Liv Heskett

They knew the show was ending and since it's a shorter season some things ended up feeling forced/rushed. Like Dave and Blaine breaking up so quickly & easily. Despite being serious enough to be living together! I think they knew the fans would never accept anything but Blaine and Kurt when things ended, lol. I think Rachel and Sam are sweet, but, I never sensed a ton of chemistry there. Maybe if it wasn't so close to the end and there was more time for it, who knows. But it always felt random and that since Cory had passed that they needed to come up with another love interest. Other than the original plan of having them reunited in Ohio. While I don't dislike them together it just felt kind of unnecessary. I don't think anyone would have questioned after everything Rachel just focusing on herself and getting her life on track. Rather than yet another coupling out of the Glee kids, lol. We've seen (nearly) most every possible dating combination out of them at this point. Though it does suck that so many of Sam's storylines have involved dating one of them over the seasons. Between Quinn, Britt, Mercedes, that weird and thankfully brief thing with Tina... Feels a bit of disservice to his character.
