I can imagine ! Lucky you!!

heather Phillips

I saw a bootleg recording of it. She was fantastic.

Carleen

The vocal evolution of Heather and Chris is fantastic. They really bloom in this season. And I'll repeat myself, but these new kids were so talented. Loved them!

Pauline

I just wanted to add that Marley / Melissa Benoist played Carol King on broadway in a show about Carol King called " Beautiful " I did not see it , wondering if anyone here got a chance to ?

heather Phillips

On the subject of representation, I love that Becky is a sassy b*tch. For the same reasons that Audrey spoke about liking Spencer's character, I like Becky's. It would've been really easy to have a sweet, sympathetic character with Down Syndrome who melted all our hearts or had us all rooting for them to overcome something related to their disability. People with disabilities have multi-faceted personalities and can be jerks just like everyone else! The little bits of story we've seen from Becky over the seasons has shown us that she suppresses some negative feelings and resentment about her disability and it's common for unprocessed feelings like that to manifest as behavioral outbursts like we sometimes see from her. And Sue has had her influence on her since season 1 if I'm not mistaken, so it makes full sense that she's become nasty and insults people. I'm totally cool with it. Love that they included that character.

scarr

What's sad is this is the final season. It's a fun series to watch and I wish it didn't have to end. I hope you'll enjoy the rest of the episodes to come.

Clara Hines

Agreed. The remarks about Kurt and his behaviour were hilarious (personally can’t stand him 75% of the time, so I’m down for ripping him a new one) but the things that applied to Chris were just unnecessary and unacceptable.

Heather Dyson

Yeah, I really hated the whole trans storyline for Beiste. If they’d done it with almost literally anyone else, it’d have been lovely to have more trans representation after Unique left. But it really crapped on the fact that they already had this wonderful character who as a cisgender woman took a lot of nonsense for not being feminine enough for some people (mostly Sue, but also the kids before they learned a lesson Sue never seemed to, because she arbitrarily bullies even people she likes). Beiste genuinely wanted to be seen as “just a girl”. I’m not saying that if they’d planned them being a trans man all along (obviously they didn’t) it would have only made sense for them to be thrilled about basically being seen as a man all along. I’d totally have bought it if it had come off as them being terrified of being as outed and desperately pretending to be a woman as hard as humanly possible, but for obvious reasons it didn’t. So when they decided to transition someone, it should have been an obvious “well, it can’t be Beiste, because we had a whole episode about how she’s definitely a woman, and it can’t be Sue, because we’ve also had a storyline where she gets misgendered and hates it, even though she’s misgendered Kurt and Unique multiple times. So… idk, maybe Rachel?” Edit - I was going to suggest Tina, but we all know she’d have come out to Blaine two seasons ago.

Heather Dyson

I think it's not that the rant was too brutal, it's that some of the comments were clearly directed towards the actor Chris. Even the cast would say that you could tell when Ryan Murphey was mad at you, because he would have characters throw insults at them. Throw jabs at the character is fine, but there were also jabs towards his appearance that was more targeted towards the actor rather than the character

Turnip Crazy

Are there any Brittana/Heya fans on Instagram? I want to follow you guys :)

Alicia

Idk why or if my comment was removed? cause I didn’t spoil anything and I didn’t say anything offensive lol but I’ll just repost Hot take but I think Kurt should’ve taken a backseat as a co teacher. It was Rachel’s idea and she’s funding it. Although fun in theory I think she just offered to be nice and not cause it was actually a god idea lol. Ya she’s annoying and it was rude for her to talk over him. But I don’t really expect anything else from her. She’s always been kinda awful. Kurt used to be one of y faves but idk I think Kurt’s character was ruined for me after last season personally. I just feel like there have been all of these set ups for Kurt to have these dreams but he ends up always following someone else. I wish he would be able to discover what he wants on his own. idk I miss the old Kurt that was at vouge. It felt like his dream and something he had for himself. I like that they were able to squash the beef but I just didn’t love this storyline.

Liv Heskett

i feel like season 6 really brought back the writing in the earlier seasons,I mean season 4 and 5 had the most wtf storylines ever which is why its considered the worst seasons but I actually like season 6 because it just reminds me so much of season 1 and I was so glad they ended the series with this.

Jhoselin Camila

Yeah. I'm coming at this from a young trans queer person that has talked to a lot of older generation trans people perspective. A youth group I attended at my city's 2SLGBTQ+ center actually would organize intergenerational potlucks with the 55+ group that was open to everyone so that we could talk about the similarities and differences between the generations

Jay Johnston

I had to rewatch the Santana rant several times the first time I watched glee because I was too distracted laughing at Rachel’s facial expressions 🤣

Sophie R

That’s the only realistic way to describe the next two episodes, lol. I have a feeling Audrey isn’t going to enjoy them (I hope that isn’t considered a spoiler) but I may be wrong.

Sophie R

I know I’m going to forget most of what I want to say about it, but I LOVE this episode. The Brittana proposal is also my favourite proposal for all the same reasons you mentioned, plus it follows one of my favourite duets in the whole show. I love their relationship and the way it was represented throughout the whole show. The music in this episode is just awesome, I love all of the songs. I absolutely love Alanis Morissette (idk if I spelt that right 😬). I, and many Gleeks, am not a big fan of the Beiste storyline. I think in theory it’s a good storyline as not many shows have characters who transition in later life and that is good representation in itself, but I don’t think Beiste was the right character for it. They spent the last 5 seasons talking about how they just wanted to be treated like a woman, and how they disliked the stereotype that just because they liked sports, they were either a man or a lesbian, which is another under-represented character (straight women who aren’t feminine). I just think it was wrong to do such an abrupt turn in that storyline, when they could’ve easily had both characters represented by having another character, such as Unique, portraying the character who transitions, since the writers had already started to develop a storyline for her. I mean no disrespect through this, I deeply apologise if anything I said offends anyone, that is not my intention in any way. I remember reading that Dot (the actress who played Beiste) really enjoyed the storyline because she thought it was very important to have the representation in the media, and I totally agree. I think whichever way you look at it and whatever your opinion is on Beiste’s storyline, you can see that either way there is an opportunity for important representation. Anyway, I just adore this episode. I was having an absolutely awful week this week, and just watching this episode and finally getting to see you react to one of my favourite storylines (and episodes) just made it so much better. Can’t wait for the next episode :)

Sophie R

tbh I always felt like they could've used Unique/Wade for the transgender storyline. It would have made SO much more sense and really wouldn't have ruined another character like Beiste

Patrick Rivera

This is honestly one of my favorite Glee episodes music-wise.

Jessica Lyme

I definitely agree with what many people have already said about the Coach Bieste story line. They spent 5 seasons building up her character as a cisgender straight female who happens to be masculine-presenting. She even opened up to Will about her own confusion regarding that in the Never Been Kissed episode. If that identity hadn't been pushed SO hard, it could have opened up a reason for this rather than seeming like they wanted to make a transgender story line so they arbitrarily picked a character. I wish they had introduced a new character to build this arc. If they felt they HAD to use an existing character, even Sue would've made more sense than Bieste. An introduction of a new character would have not negated all the previous character development. I love Brittana. Santana said in a previous episode regarding her rage: "When I get really pissed off, Santana gets taken over by my other evil personality. I call her Snix. Her wrath of words is called Snix juice. I'm kind of like the Incredible Hulk. You can't blame me for anything Snix does." (https://www.tiktok.com/@yorkiemommyx2/video/6846291728631106821) I saw a meme online that after Kurt interrupts the proposal, the look Santana gives to him shows her metamorphosis into "Snix" that ultimately led into her hallway confrontation... it was definitely epic.

desiderata770

Okay I realize that a lot of people have commented on these things so I won't mention why I don't like the Santana rant to Kurt because I've seen several other people mention it. But I do want to say that as a trans masc person, I've always really despised the Bieste being trans story line because it just feels like it comes completely out of left field. It erases an entire four seasons of character development and shits on what the character went through in season 4 when he [I may not like the storyline but I will always refuse to misgender anyone] was married to Cooter and stayed because he was scared of never finding anyone else who would love him. But, boy did I just bawl when he told Sue and Sam because it's about the most relatable thing I've ever heard a character say.

Sebastian Sawyer

We needed more Brittany/Kurt scenes in Glee, that was hilarious.🥰

adautres

yes I loved the calling out of his 3 classic dance moves and that stuff but the physical stuff was so unnecessary. also I wish they had had some sort of resolution between the two characters in this episode rather then them just singing together and smiling at each other at the end

Nicole M

All good points. Again, I may not be the best person to talk about this. But to me it was clear the character liked being a woman and doing "feminine" things. I don't remember Unique actually transitioning, how did I miss that? Also, nothing against Dot, she is a wonderful actress. Her performance in the DV storyline specifically was incredible.

Heida

There's a lot of trans people, especially from the older generations that try hard and push that they identify with the gender they're assigned at birth until they just can't do it anymore. I never really bought that she felt very feminine cause as much as she would say the words over and over again the actions the character took never really lined up with that There's also the added complexity that they were attracted solely to men which trans queer people often struggle with. Unique was already transitioning in season 4 and doesn't really give representation to older queer trans people However I agree the storyline should have been given to a trans actor but Dot-Marie Jones did do a wonderful job with what she was given

Jay Johnston

That is the only good thing about it. It just completely contradicted the purpose of the character in the 4 seasons prior. Her whole character arc was being a more masculine woman but still feeling very feminine and like a 'girl' on the inside. If they wanted to have a character transition then Unique was right there. Or just create an entirely new character that was actually played by a trans actor.

Heida

While the delivery was spot on, Naya said she felt really uncomfortable filming the Santana/Kurt rant scene because it was more like the writers were attacking Chris than Santana attacking Kurt (such as insecurities in his physical appearance), so watching it now just makes me uncomfortable. As a cis person I realise I may not be qualified to speak on this but I HATE the Beiste storyline (which is sad cuz I love the character). 1. It came out of literally nowhere. It at least would've made more sense if we had seen little hints that the character was even thinking this way. 2. I feel like they just threw 4 seasons worth of character development down the drain because it contradicts EVERYTHING the character stood for. Her (I use her for when she was still identifying as a woman) whole character arc was being a more masculine woman but still feeling very feminine and like a 'girl' on the inside. Yes, trans representation is important. But showing women they don’t have to conform to what society deems what a woman should be in order to be happy is important too, and that’s who Shannon was for so many people up until this point (granted, so was Sue but in a different way). I get it's not uncommon for a person to surpress their feelings and identity in this way, but I also feel this is kind of giving the message that being a masculine cis woman isn't a valid identity. Gender non-conforming characters are important even when they’re cis, and it really feels like they just chose Beiste because of some false impression that trans men are masculine women who don’t fit in. If they wanted to have a character transition then Unique was right there. Or just create an entirely new character that was actually played by a trans actor. Actors are actors, their job literally pretending to be someone else. But when cis people play trans people on TV and in movies, it not only robs trans actors of opportunities but it's almost like reinforcing the idea that trans people are just cis people playing dress up. That's just my personal opinion, but from what I've seen it's a quite popular opinion within the fandom, even trans people. I like that they opened up a discussion on whether people with Down Syndrome and those without are looked upon as equals, and whether people with DS are considered like children and therefore cannot consent. As for many other things (like the Beiste storyline) it was a great idea but handled very poorly. We got a few moments of Becky being vulnerable but as usual they ruined it with her stupid insults. And something else I couldn't quite put my finger on until you mentioned it, there was NO sexual chemistry. Granted, we only really got one scene where it was just them without the others, but it didn't feel like they were in love or even attracted to each other. The music was great. Jane & Mason sounded great together and so did Quinn & Tina. So sad we didn't get to see them duet more (like in S3 Sectionals when they were the only girls they didn't even get one line together!). Even this was cut short in the ep. but thankfully they released the full version: https://youtu.be/uaV64mNNpjs?si=vWhM1eDOvfmons29.

Heida

Pretty much Glee at its most unhinged, lol

Jennifer Lawrence

The whole thing was hilarious and iconic (Rose's Turn!) She got to know what it's like to date a baby... because Kurt's hand was baby smooth thanks to duck fat. And her not remembering who Burt Hummel was later got me to facepalm good-naturedly.

Extra Groffsauce

ok, i got a lot to say about this episode first of all, I love it. I love the Brittana storyline and proposal (Brittana is my otp in glee so, obviously that i like the storyline lol) and all the songs are great. This episode also kinda got me into Alanis Morrisette and showed me just how good her songs are Now a thing I don't really like: Beiste being transgender. As you mentioned, there isn't a lot of representation of big, masculine straight women and then you have Beiste and she's so awesome and I loved her for who she was, and then, out of the blue she's coming out as transgender. It just kinda defeated her whole character arc from season 2 and 3, especially what we saw from her in season 3. idk, if they wanted to do this storyline they could've used someone else. But maybe thats just me, I still love Coach Beiste no matter what. I'm also very relieved you liked that Santana rant to Kurt. I was worried you thought it's too over the top. I love when Santana does those rants (like in season 3 to Finn) but I've seen recently on tiktok that a lot of people hated how she talked about Kurt (Naya also apologized A LOT to Chris after that scene, as she herself thought it was too brutal) but I don't know. Santana has always been like this and Kurt really had it coming and it's one of my favorite scenes in glee (could also be that i really don't like Kurt so I may be biased lol) also, Rachels expressions during it were amazing haha anyway as others already mentioned, the next two episodes get... weird. But good weird imo. Peak Glee craziness.

Patrick Rivera

Brittany has never sounded better! love that for her! and that scene she had with Kurt literally took me back to season 1 and i remember how Kurt dated Brittany to pretend he was straight lol

leslie martin

i'm really going to miss your glee content... you're my favorite reactor and i think i'm not alone saying your glee reactions bring us lots of joy! especially right now :) i really hope you continue reacting to glee adjacent content like live concert from the actors, behind the scenes from glee, other projects.. :(

leslie martin

It’s became a running joke that Tina could never finish a song. There was the time she performed and got heckled to the point she stopped. Another time she was about to sing and the bell rang and everyone got up and left. There actually hasn’t been many songs where Quinn’s parts get cut from the episode version or has a song stopped short. Her and Tina’s verses in Take On Me didn’t play out in the show and now her duet with Tina. I know they almost always skip the second verse of songs so I can understand why Take On Me was edited that way. Quinn got the Tina treatment this season lol.

Benjamin Smith

Oh, oh, oh... Season 6 Brittana is just the best thing ever. I am just so happy for them! Glad to be watching it with you. Yes, the only proposal that I'm 100 OK with on Glee for sure.

Extra Groffsauce

I thought it was just me that noticed that towards the end of the show all of Tina's songs for cut short 😅

Talia Shapiro

It's late for me so I won't say much but I want to point something out about the representation thing: trans storylines in a lot of shows or movies only show young, straight trans stories but this shows an older trans story of someone who is attracted to men still even while identifying as a man

Jay Johnston

I LOVED Kurt and Blaine's proposal but i agree Brittana's engagement makes the most sense and they're both ready. The next two eps are ridiculous but so funny lmao

Gigi

I love this episode. I was wondering if you were going to remember the proposal lol. I love the dynamic between older Santana and Britt. You can really see how much they have affected and changed and grown with each other. Britt has gotten more blunt and Santana has gotten softer and they just meet in the middle in this perfect combination. the next two episodes are... oof. lol.

Haughtbreaker Nic

Even You live You learn had more verses. Most songs have longer versions.

Capri Zonica

Please please please do a full song reaction to the Quinn and Tina duet. The first and only duet from them is cut short in the show in typical Tina fashion.

Benjamin Smith

No spoilers but we do see Quinn one more time thankfully.

Benjamin Smith

OMG! I have alot to say . but I'm super tired and I'll post tomorrow .LOVE Ya'l

Linda

So many thoughts! This episode is near perfect to me. The songs are great (and underrated), and I love the storylines introduced. I really like the Beiste thing. I feel like we don’t get any rep of an older person going through a transition like we do with teenagers. Dot Mary Jones should have won an Emmy! (Maybe not for this story particularly, but in general.) I’m surprised she didn’t despite being nominated 3 times! Fun fact: a trans actress worked with Dot to get the dialogue and emotions right. The Santana and Kurt scene is why this episode is near perfect. While Kurt should not have interrupted their proposal and Santana definitely had a right to say something, the scene was not it! In between takes, Chris was nearly in tears and Naya kept apologizing to him. She mentioned on a podcast that it was her least favorite glee messy moment because the dialogue was a direct hit to Chris Colfers actual insecurities. Like his smile, teeth, and voice. They should’ve just mentioned his relationships, clothes, and love of pianos, as that would have only related to the character, but still would’ve gotten the point across. It’s definitely my least favorite glee scene. I have to skip it in an otherwise excellent episode.

Selma Jabr

I love 💕 Quinn's voice, too. That duet with Tina was lovely. Sadly, this was Quinn's last song and episode. Just like that, no send off or storyline 😕

Capri Zonica

I've been listening to a lot of the "This is What You Really Missed" podcast with Jenna (Tina) and Kevin (Artie) and Kevin saw a post on twitter about Blaine dating Karofsky and he asked if that really happened. Soon after that Max Adler (Karofsky) was on the podcast and he confirmed that is indeed what happened and he was just glad to have a job. Incidentally Max was the only castmember who was actually in Show Choir in High School. Anyway it is a good podcast to listen to where they talk about what they remember happening while they shot the episode they are talking about and they interview other people involved with Glee. Also just today I listened to an interview on the podcast where Dot-Marie Jones (Coach Bieste) talked about at the 100th episode party Ryan Murphy told her that they had a lot planned for Coach Bieste (The Transitioning Stoyline) and Dot told him that the lot they had planned had better be while she is a series regular which they made Dot one for season 6.

Wayne Joy

I love Brittana and I only like the episodes where they're in. They had the best storylines this season. I wish they had sung the other mashup Will you still love me/ Head over heels. The lyrics really fit their situation right now. Not that I didn't love the one they did.

Capri Zonica

Also - the Jagged Little Tapestry EP is my favorite Glee EP. I still play it constantly.

Annie Willow

As someone who loves Brittany and Santana as a couple this is personally my favorite episode of this season. The Brittany and Santana duet "Hand in My Pocket / I Feel the Earth Move" in this episode is one of my favorite duets from the entire series.

Morgan

My Brittana babies! I agree, they are the first couple to get engaged that makes perfect sense and that they actually don’t feel like they are doomed to fail from the start. First off, they actually understand each other and communicate well. They have spent time on their own working on themselves. They’ve dated other people. And they still came back to each other. Then they spent a lot of time just actually being together, they went to Lesbos and Hawaii for months and then they went on tour with Mercedes so they know how living and working together will work for them. Yeah, they are still young, but as long as they continue communicating and supporting each other like they are doing, they are going to be just fine.

Annie Willow

This episode is one of my favorites for music! So good! I'm really excited for the next two episodes - off the wall Glee at its best.

Erin

Firstly, let me be the first to say we are 1/4 of the way through the last season. I know, bummer! Secondly, overall, my favorite mashup was Mason’s and Jane’s “Head Over Feet/Will you Love Me Tomorrow?”. He does have a sultry voice, that resonates so well in the upper registers. Thirdly: the next 2 episodes is gonna get weird. Just putting that out there. Yes, it is a 2 parter. Sue is probably gonna do a few more things that you are really not going to like, but, I can’t argue with the results, especially what happens at season/series end. Side note, we will not be seeing Coach Beiste for another 4 episodes. The whole “Down Syndrome dating a normal” thing; I agree with Darrell on this one. I’m Neurodivergent(not exactly the same thing, but we also have our idiosyncrasies). I thought for the longest time, I couldn’t find love, because I was “too scatterbrained”, that “I didn’t have my head on right”, or that “I’m too easily distracted.” But, when the right person comes along, they can help you through that, and love you for who you are. Lastly; I’m not a fan of the Karovsky/Blaine combo. Don’t get me wrong, both guys are cute; but, I don’t really see a chemistry between them like I do between Kurt and Blaine, Brittany and Santana, and even Puck and Quinn and Mason and Jane… I’m rambling again. Great episode, looking forward to the next few!

Lucario Stormblade007

OMG!OMG! Fav of this season!! can't wait to watch with you.!!
