GLEE S05E15 WATCH PARTY

OMG you can see Naya accidentally bump Darren's head with her elbow, try to soothe him and grab his head gently! I didn't notice it before. (It's when Will's singing in Don't Stop Believin')

I don't mind Rachel leaving NYADA, but her attitude leaves a lot to be desired. This is also the point that Carmen Thibideau criticizes. From season 1, Rachel didn't like having to be told what to do. It was always going to be her will, her way and all these years later, she still acts like a sophomore in high school. I don't know one teacher who will go to the principal and vent about a student without first talking to that student at length to see if and how to help them get their points and pass their subjects. So when Carmen mentions that ALL of her teachers say that Rachel is underperforming, it means that Rachel must have heard something like this from all of the them already and just didn't care or plainly didn't believe that her, a big Broadway star (in her own head) could flunk her classes. Had she taken this more seriously, she may have been able to negotiate a gap year or a lighter course load for the duration of the Funny Girl run. Disregarding an assignment and performing a duet instead of a solo show also shows that she prefers to dance to her own tune. I thought it quite generous of Madam Thibideau to grant her and Blaine a second chance and not immediatley fail them. So for her attitude and to learn that the world does not revolve around Rachel Berry, a longer education at NYADA might have been helpful, not to learn more about the technical side of performing even though I think it can never hurt to learn more and to expand your horizon. But in typical Rachel fashion, she prefers to burn all bridges behind her because she feels she is in the right. Like I said her way or no way. And frankly that pisses me off about her character. Already did way back when the show first aired and even more so now, ten year later.

Right, like Rachel could have just held off of school for awhile while she's doing Funny Girl. If she wants to after she could go back or pick up smaller classes in the meantime. I think her attitude towards Carmen was very rude and a bit stuck up. Like it's still a school, they're not going to bend over backwards because you have a lead role.

Turnip Crazy

It was unrealistic for Rachel to try to be a full time college student and a full time Broadway star at the same time. At least at the point when Funny Girl became a full time job she should have requested and received a leave of absence from the college. The most Rachel should have done is take a class or two that wouldn't have interfered with Funny Girl.

Also, as a teacher, the way Rachel didn’t listen to the assignment and did a duet and then got upset that she failed made me angry, only because that’s what we end up facing all the time, kids not following the instructions and being surprised and angry when there’s a consequence

For some reason I remember loving this episode, and Kurt’s story I definitely do, but man I forgot the little intricacies of the other stories that just kinda make me want to talk them out (which I guess is the mark of an interesting story) I feel like the Sam and Mercedes one is interesting, I definitely think Sam is nervous and awkward, but I also kinda felt like it’s a bit of him being ignorant and doing these microaggression things without even realizing they’re not OK, and I kind of wish they’d taken the opportunity to make the difference in their races about that as well as Mercedes’ image, because I can see where she’s coming from but I also think Sam has some learning to do too As for the Rachel and Kurt thing, I feel like if we’d seen her struggling to keep up I would’ve understood her dropping out more - I do understand, but I feel like the worrier in me more sides with Kurt and the ‘what if she doesn’t make it’ line of thinking, but I also don’t know about the industry outside this show (I also know what’s coming up but no spoilers) The songs in this episode are so good, and I really wish they’d stuck to this idea of everyone in New York trying to be adults and dealing with these more tricky topics, it felt more real. I also just have to say thank you so much for these reactions - especially when you’re so busy oh my gosh! - they really are the highlight of my week, my little Saturday morning sing alongs!

Broadway Baby was the opening number of Lea and Darren's LMDC tour. At this point in the show Rachel's two best friends are actually Kurt and Blaine.

Wayne Joy

Damn you are badass! And brave! I hope I would do the same but it's scary. Good he was expelled (even though it's a slap on the wrist) but fucked up that you were punished too.

I said I’m not gonna cry, again. Strong Lucario, strong Lucario! Ah, screw it! This episode hit a little close to home, and yes, I teared up, again! Granted, I love that you said Kurt is not a fighter, but, at the same time, it was one of those things that he had to make a choice: run, and hope the guy would be alive by the time he could find help and bring it back; or fight right then and there, and at least attempt to even the odds. I actually had to go through a similar situation back in high school. I went to school in a very conservative community, and, even though I wasn’t out yet, I didn’t tolerate the bullies. One of my friends was getting slapped around by the then captain of the football team, and I knew my friend was out. The captain’s girlfriend was trying to pull him away, but she ended up getting a punch to her face for her efforts. I knew then what I had to do; I actually spun the captain around, and kicked him straight in the junk, told him to actually grow a pair and be a better man, then helped my friend out of there. He got expelled, myself and my friend both got 5 days In School Suspension, mainly because we were being defensive(I didn’t see the logic in it either, but the principal did). All his friends knew by then that I wasn’t someone to mess with, so the bully atmosphere that was clouding our school had vanished. Onward to “Colorblind”. As other people mentioned, it is an Amber Riley original, but not exactly written by Amber. STUNNING performance. Next week’s episode is gonna be funny, but then, we finally get into “Funny Girl”!!!!!

I think what didn't help with the Sam moments was that overall it was a fairly serious episode. It made his awkward jokes stand out even more and feel out of place. He's definitely always been a bit of a strange dude, lol. But it felt like they cranked it up at times.

Jennifer Lawrence

aaaah, I completely mixed up the episodes and thought this was my fave episode but its still two weeks away :') gladly this one is also really really good haha. I really love the songs in this episode, especially Colorblind, Not While I'm Around and No One is Alone! Little funny story about Not While I'm Around: When I first watched this episode back in the day, this was my favorite song and I listened to it almost every day, but I never looked up from what it is, so flash forward to a few years, I decided to watch Sweeney Todd for the first time and when this song came up I was SO confused and shocked, I had never guessed that a song like this would be in such a dark musical like ST :D And to the Sam being dumb again thing, I kinda get where they were going with. Sam has always been cringe as f*ck when he's nervous, and this was just the same. maybe a liiiitle bit too much but still him being him. But yea, as others have said, he's not gonna be this bad again
