NX Optimizer / UltraCam Beta 15 Tears Of The Kingdom

Hey everyone, this beta has been out for the past 2-3 weeks, if you were on Discord you probably already had access to it. The reason for this post's delay is because I'm extremely sick (Pneumonia) and have been bedridden for over 2 weeks, thank you for supporting me. There's currently an ongoing vote for the next beta, please stay tuned. I'll likely be focusing on BOTW 1.8.2 and getting the Calamity Menu to BOTW, which means the BOTW mod will have to be completely redone again.

  • Thanks to LOTP, we can now boot TOTK 1.4.X on Ryubing on a private build, however the audio engine is broken and it'll need to be updated to match the new SDK, I'll be doing my best to collaborate and help with that, so expect a smaller overall update until we can get Emulators to run Properly.

  • Health Update: 

    • Hey! Thank you for your continuous Support <3! 

    • As some of you know, I've went through 2 surgeries done to my broken ankle so far, the last surgery was early January after Beta 8.1 which forced me to stay in the Hospital for a few days, once I went out of the Hospital i had a week of recovery and then went straight to Physio Therapy. I'm happy to report I'm doing much better and recovering, finally being able to walk! Unfortunately this didn't come without a cost, I've been extremely exhausted the past 2 weeks walking with my calf being completely atrophied, very bad muscle pain and lots of PT (Had a cast for 65 days, my calf is completely gone D:), due to these circumstances we are having a little bit of a late update and overall a smaller update than what I'm happy with... Fortunately I'm feeling a lot better now after my Physio Therapy ended last week, I've gotten as much work to the Optimizer and UltraCam as I could in the free time I had available to me.

  • Overall Thoughts about the Update:

    • Some of you may not know this but i helped CM develop a health regen mod for monsters, this is available as a standalone download for Challenge Mode. It'll be reimplemented in UltraCam in the future and most likely Open Sourced too, I'm currently the only person with the Source Code. Over the years I've contributed a lot to Challenge Mode (Master Mode) as a team member and it is finally released, I've worked on the design of many of the horns and monsters.

    • Some Of The Designs/Models I contributed to Challenge Mode! (There's a lot more)

    • EA 9.0 Focuses heavily on fixing bugs and obviously the promised Link's Awakening UltraCam, albeit a bit barebones as of right now. The UC for Link's Awakening was heavily rushed due to time constraints and just overall feeling very exhausted lately.

    • Tears of the Kingdom is moving forward well and I believe Beta 9 is by far the most stable version we have had, with a decent amount of crashes and bugs fixed, there's still a few physics bugs that recently got reported on discord at 120 FPS, unfortunately my CPU isn't fast enough to hit 120 FPS consistently enough which makes it very difficult to fix them. But I'll definitely be looking into them whenever possible.

  • NX Optimizer Public Release.

    • As some of you may know, NX Optimizer 3.0 is soon going to be released for free, featuring both UltraCams for EOW and BOTW, TOTK will continue to stay in EA as it is very much still unfinished. Link's Awakening needs a few updates still as it is very much barebones at the moment, albeit Idk if this is high priority right now.

    • For the NX Optimizer public release I'll need quite a bit of time to prepare, I'm working on a website that i really want to finish before the official release, that really should help with sorting information and a lot more, I also want to make a few videos for the official release, this time it's a pretty big one! Unfortunately all of this is very time consuming, so I'm not sure what I can get done this month but I really want to release the NX Optimizer this month.

  • Tears of The Kingdom

    • Oh Boy where do i start, I have so many things I want to do in TOTK but they are all super complex internally, I want to add a collision visualizer and freecam keyframe visualizer as well, I also want to rework the entire actor system, to give more control over actors and actor spawner, I really want to rework the entire actor spawner in general to be honest. I also want to add TouchScreen support to the UI. All of this is very time consuming and very daunting to start work on, as it's looking into hundreds of hours of work again D:. Oh yeah the entire config system will move to the SDCard soon, as the UI can save each setting directly from the UC Menu. This is very much a Priority right now.

    • Fixed a crash when using the UltraCam FPS limiter to set FPS to above 60 or below 30.

      • Fixed a crash caused by the FPS Overlay.

  • Fixed Softlock

    • Fixed a softlock that can happen when toggling between Menus and FreeCam/UC Menu

  • Reworked Camera Speed for UltraHand This Fixes the Following:

    • Fixed Bow Speed Inconsistencies when using unique controllers.

    • Adjusted UltraHand Speed to match 30 FPS with the new Fix.

    • Improved Purah Pad zoom speed, to be more consistent.

    • Fixed Shield Surf Camera Speed being too slow at FPS above 30 FPS.

    • Increase or Decrease Damage Taken 0.1-100.0x

    • Increase or Decrease Damage Deal 0.1-100.0x

    • Overhauled health regeneration Cheat for code readability and consistency.

  • Major System Overhaul.

    • Controller System Overhaul :

      • The Controller System has Been overhauled to use 2 controllers separately from each other.

        • One Controller that is Updated in the Camera Loop

        • One Controller that is Updated inside of the UI loop.

      • This new system allows for a more bug-free experience. This also makes the controllers more consistent between FreeCam/UC Ui.

    • System Pause Tracker :

      • This system is used to detect when a Menu is Opened the overhaul aims to fix inconsistencies with Mods like TOTK Randomizer and overall turn it into a more consistent system.

      • This should make the menu FPS Options/Tweaks more consistent overall with different changes or mods.

      • Resolved crashes and inconsistent Behavior when used with TOTK Randomizer.

      • Currently Pause "AI" is broken when used with TOTK Randomizer.

        • In order to be able to pause AI again with the TOTK Randomizer, teleport once through the map menu.

  • Cheats Loading and Saving Overhauled.

    • Mostly for code Readability and consistent behavior.

Tears Of The Kingdom UltraCam

  • Removed Aspect Ratio lock for different resolutions

  • Fixed a bug with benchmarks crashing when using Loop option for Benchmarks

  • Fixed average FPS not counted correctly when running "All" or "Loop" Benchmark

  • Fixed Benchmark frame counter being way higher than it should be when using "All" or "Loop" Benchmarks.

  • Rewrite all Controller inputs;

    • Now Camera controller is separate from the menu altogether.

    • Now Camera controller is a separate class than the menu controller.

    • Menu controls are now updated inside of the rendering loop.

    • This fixes many different menu related softlocks where the controls become unresponsive.

  • Fixed Auto Attach Controls

  • Fixed Auto Attach being able to equip last equipped weapon

  • Fixed Stamina checks (Godmode, infinite stamina etc) not being properly saved or loaded.

  • Fixed Sequencer not being able to load animations from .json files

Echoes of Wisdom

  • Fixed Hood toggle not working on Emulators.

    • This was mostly caused by the way emulators store functions, with the new approach it should work regardless.

Breath Of The Wild

  • Fixed motion in Menus at 60 FPS

    • Menus should feel smoother at 60 FPS now but the cursor is faster

      • The "jagginess" was mostly caused by an approach to slow down the cursor to work the same speed at 30 FPS, I'm not happy with the result so for now it has been removed until I have the time to look at it once again.

NX Optimizer

  • Added missing First Person Options.

Development Blog

  • Happy holidays, thank you for your continuous support

  • Unfortunate events and unforeseen delay

    • Some of you may already know this, but last month i broke my Ankle, which lead to me being unable to walk and still unable to walk up until this day, I had to go through a surgery which left me hospitalized for a long period of time, in the first, or second week of January I will have to go through another surgery and will be in the hospital for about a week. Fortunately it's not all bad news and I'm recovering well so far, I'm hopeful that I will be able to walk again by February, but due to these events it has made it very difficult to make a substantial development on these things; As these mods and programs are extremely complex in nature and require a ridiculous amount of time to develop; Unfortunately at the moment I'm unable to put as much time as I used to due to pain when I sit in-front of the PC for a prolonged period of time.

  • Future Plans

    • In the future I have 2 mods planned to release in 2025, hopefully in Q1 if things do get better.

    • A DFPS mod for Xenoblade 3 between Me, Fl4sh and OldManKain, this is my friend OldManKain's dream mod, I'll be doing all the programming and stuff for that one, while Fl4sh and OldManKain will handle the reverse engineering and testing of the mod; That mod will be released for free to the public inside of NX Optimizer and as a standalone separately as well.

    • An UltraCam mod for Link's awakening; Link's awakening is the last Zelda title I haven't modded on the switch, I want to keep it similar to what I did with Echoes of Wisdom, Unfortunately this won't be possible until i can use my PC normally; This mod will be temporarily in Early Access for testing then released with NX Optimizer later as well.

    • TOTK UltraCam 3.0; Will continue development and many of it's features will be polished up or straight up reworked, speaking of I'm going to be reworking the actor spawner and container with much more in depth controls once things do get better. I have many exciting things planned and slowly working up to them as i polish other systems.

    • BOTW UltraCam; There's still some issues and incompatibilities in BOTW UC, unfortunately these are a tad bit more difficult to solve but i'll be looking into ways to fix them; I do feel very confident that BOTW UltraCam has shaped up to be in a very good spot; If there's a good support for it, I do want to add a Menu similar to the one in TOTK in the future.

    • EOW UltraCam; Honestly at this point it feels pretty much complete, I don't see much else that can be massively improved in here.

    • More games will be talked about and added in the future, outside of Zelda and possibly outside of the switch ecosystem itself. Cheers

NX Optimizer 3.0

  • Fixed ram rounding issues.

  • Fixed Menu FPS being incorrect for Breath Of The Wild.

Echoes of Wisdom

  • Updated the mod to version 1.0.2.

    • This update has been available for testing for some time in my discord, so far it seems pretty good :).

  • Added a Hood toggle on demand.

    • This removes Zelda's hood in real-time with a way to turn it on and off.

    • Keyboard Key (C).

    • Controller Key (ZL + Minus) - while in Freecam.

Tears Of The Kingdom

  • New Benchmark System.

    • This system has been worked on for months on time, it's a complete rework and a further expansion of the old system.

    • Added a new Benchmark tab in the Menu.

    • Added a Benchmark Graph showing in real-time benchmark data report while the benchmark is running.

    • Benchmarks now display the past 1000 frames at a time.

    • Added a new Json saving system that exports every framedata into a file. This will be useful in the future.

    • Added the Ability to loop benchmark repeatedly.

    • Added a new All Benchmark type.

    • Added a dynamic Allocation array to store benchmark frame data over-time.

      • This should keep performance and memory consistent.

    • Benchmarks are now saved inside of sdcard:/UltraCam/TOTK/Benchmarks/ as a new file format .json.

      • Currently each benchmark is saved to the respective file name of the benchmark, in the future there will also be instances of .old or .old.old and more, this is currently not the case and only 1 instance of the respective benchmark can be saved.

    • Added many new files and classes related to benchmarks internally to keep track of frame data, benchmark state, benchmarks and a lot more.

    • Fixed rounding error for framedata, as a result the new benchmarks will be more accurate but the overlay itself may cause a slight loss of FPS.

  • Game UI

    • Fixed crashed related to opening the game UI and accessing invalid memory.

    • Removed many usages of std::string and replaced with a more primitive chars as they were causing issues.

    • Added more options to the FreeCam tab.

  • FreeCam

    • Sequences (Camera Animations).

      • Added the ability to export camera animations and Sequencer state inside of a json file in sdcard:/UltraCam/TOTK/Animations/.

      • Added the ability to load custom Sequencer animations directly from UltraCam overlay.

  • Sockets/TOTK Console

    • Reworked the socket system to be more functional and expandable in the future.

    • Massive Code Cleanup/Overhaul.

    • This may affect the way the console works.

  • Memory System

    • Added usages of mutexes when allocating memory.

      • This may prevent some crashes on switch when save files are being saved or loaded.

Tears Of The Kingdom Public 2.6 and 2.6.1

  • Removed Ladder FPS lock.

  • Fixed Climbing Speed inconsistencies, climbing is consistent between all FPS now.

  • Fixed ladder climbing speed inconsistencies.

  • Removed the ability to change FOV with controller while outside of FreeCam.

  • Removed instances of std::string constructors.

  • Fixed a random crash that happens since 2.5.

  • Made the game run smoother at 60 FPS in comparison to 2.6 and 2.5.

Development Blog

  • Ryujinx Development shutdown.

    • Unfortunately the month before Ryujinx shutdown i spent a reasonable amount of time working on a fix for Ryujinx to work better with higher resolution mods, such as UltraCam for TOTK, fortunately this fix was merged in the latest build of Ryujinx, which you can find online.

    • Unfortunately Ryujinx's Development has shut down, which has left me pretty depressed for the first half of this month, I know and worked with the people briefly in there, this has caused a pretty massive hit to emulation as a whole. But after every LOW there's always a new HIGH.

    • Ryujinx hasn't gotten DMCA like Yuzu, making the development of the emulator not at risk if in the future someone decided to pick it up. If there's a team competent enough to pick up Ryujinx again, I would love to continue my contribution to emulation as a whole, as I've done with both Yuzu and Ryujinx before their takedowns...

  • TOTK Optimizer (Now NX Optimizer) 3.0

    • The Optimizer as a whole has been rewritten, NX Optimizer 3.0 (Open Source) over 5000+ lines of code have already been changed/modified or rewritten over the course of the past 2 weeks, the goal of the rewrite is to make the new NX Optimizer meet a more standardized coding standards and also to make sure it supports multiple games. The main challenge with the Optimizer is working with the limited capabilities of the base Python Tkinter UI framework, but as far as things go I don't think I could've done much better after the new rewrite :). This is still in beta and it needs more work overall.

    • Read the Patch Notes Section for more information on everything that changed.

    • (WARNING) Please select the Beta Option for Tears Of The Kingdom. The art should look the same as the one underneat.

  • UltraCam Echoes of Wisdom

    • This is probably going to be the last Beta for Echoes of Wisdom as it's going to become a public mod very soon with the NX Optimizer release, there's still a few things I would like to do better but overall I'm extremely satisfied with what I've been able to achieve with this game. Link's awakening is next! :).

    • These screenshots feature the new Teleportation and Time Stop features.

  • UltraCam Breath of The Wild

    • Breath of the Wild is getting really close to becoming finished as well, we're so close to FPS++ perfection, yet so far. Still a few bugs left to be fixed, work has slowed down over the release of Echoes, Ryujinx and NX Optimizer. I feel very confident in this new Version, the game is finally 100% playable with Dynamic Framerate, at 120 FPS. With a few issues here and there.

    • Breath of the Wild Crashing has now been addressed.

  • UltraCam Tears Of The Kingdom

    • A lot of changes are still coming to Tears of The Kingdom Ultracam, this is my Magnum Opus, the break between Echoes of Wisdom and NX Optimizer was needed to refresh my mind and better my focus around TOTK UltraCam's Development, TOTK UltraCam 3.0 will continue to be developed privately with access given to supporters, I have many wonderful things planned continuing onwards. However the public version will also get an update that fixes game issues very soon.

  • DynamicFPS Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

    • This mod has staled for a little bit unfortunately, I do want to update it and perhaps add a UltraCam/Freecam to Pokemon S/V too for supporters, given the limited amount of time I have available and being a single developer working on so many project, things have became very difficult to keep up, I honestly just don't have enough time at the moment.

  • Personal Notes.

    • Thank you for supporting me on Kofi/Patreon/Discord and anywhere else! I wouldn't be able to pursue what I love without your help, seriously Thank You.

    • Over the past month, I've spent more time doing things for the better in my life, which unfortunately meant i had less time then usual to work on stuff, I've realized the amount of time I spent in-front of my computer programming has been very detrimental to my health. Due to this, this update may not seem as big as my usual monthly updates, honestly the things I've pushed before were completely ridiculous for a one person to do in that short span of time. Development Blog

Echoes of Wisdom UltraCam, the first of it's kind. This mod was a bit more difficult to develop due to internal issues, for the moment the Menu system from TOTK doesn't work even though it's implemented, getting things to draw on the screen has been a bit painful in this game. Currently the freecam feels like it has a little bit of jitter, but due to the amount of stuff implemented, I didn't have enough time to look into it, I plan to revisit it very, very soon. Key features of UltraCam is the FPS Lock, freecam (Everything from TOTK), LODs, Depth of Field Control, Any Aspect Ratio, Hide UI, Resolutions (up to 1080p Currently) and more. Shadows were planned but due to internal issues, I couldn't get them stable enough for release.

      • Change the FOV in real time or by setting it in the config under [Features]. This doesn't override the FOV but multiplies it to keep the experience similar to the default game.

    • Depth of Field

      • Change the amount of depth of field around the camera, top and bottom corners, this is by default 1.0. I really recommend reducing it to 0.5

  • Resolution and FPS

    • MaxFramerate, the max amount of framerate the game will cap to.

    • LevelOfDetail, setting this to -1 increase level of detail or higher. Settings this to 15 will make the game look like Minecraft.

    • Width and Height, these 2 correspond to the resolution, currently the max resolution is 1080P.

  • Aspect Ratios.

    • Echoes of Wisdom UltraCam can set Aspect Ratios to anything you want and automatically adjust the UI alongside it, by default this is 16x9.

Future Plans.

I want to make the Menus work so we can add some cheats and paharps some other features, but this depends on how successful this project is, since things are already spread very tight between everything I'm working on at the moment. If the Menus are fixed, I can also add some sort of a mob spawner alongside it or something else more interesting, for now I plan to play through the game myself, I also would really enjoying adding a teleport feature, in order to make exploring the map casually more fun.

Known issues

  • FreeCam movement slight jitter.

  • FPS over 120 makes it so u can't leave water caves and other areas, preferably keep FPS locked to 120 or 60FPS.

  • Missing Triple buffer (To-Do)

UltraCam Calamity (3.0) Beta 6 Part 1 BOTW and TOTK, DFPS Fixes, Graphics Upgrades and More!

Beta 6 Development Log

Beta 6 was a challenging update to develop, mainly due huge technical work involved. One of the key features introduced is a powerful system that allows users to fine-tune various visual aspects of the game, such as color correction, fog reduction, bloom adjustment, and much more. Although this system is still in its early stages, it already contains over 1,000 lines of code and will continue to expand as development progresses. Currently, Beta 6 includes several pre-built presets for you to explore and experiment with. Additionally, you can create, save, and share your own presets with other users. All presets are saved in SDCARD/UltraCam/Presets/.

In addition to this, Beta 6 addresses some of the most frustrating FPS bugs, including issues with climbing speed and ladder climbing. The Flurry Rush bug in BOTW has also been fixed, along with various other bugs like music overlap. These issues were very difficult to address, but thanks to my friend Fl4sh, I was able to resolve them in a reasonable timeframe.

Below, you’ll find one of the new UltraCam presets created by me. There are also presets made by other modders and creators, including Waikuteru, Fl4sh, Aster, and Digital Dreams—some names you may already recognize!

Beta 6 also fixes the long-standing depth buffer issue. This problem caused the depth buffer to flicker when moving the camera. With the new update, the depth buffer is stabilized internally, which has also resulted in a slight performance improvement.

  • PS depth buffer can still get messed up in the Yuzu emulator or Yuzu forks. Outside of my control.

In the future I'm also going to be working on Echoes of Wisdom. Which will be added to the collection of Betas until finished. BOTW should also soon release to the public, that really just depends on how much free time I have to finish up fixing bugs/finishing up features.

Lastly, here's a video showcasing the new TOTK UltraCam along with Digital Dream’s RTX Reshade preset and the color correction applied using the new system.

Kofi/Patreon Update Pre-Beta 6. A look into the future.

Hello everyone,

I hope you're all doing well. I wanted to give you an update on the status of Beta 6 and some recent challenges I've faced. Over the past month, my family and I have been battling COVID-19, which made it difficult for me to work consistently. Unfortunately, this has resulted in a delay for Beta 6.

UltraCam Update:
The UltraCam project has grown far beyond its original scope, it's now evolved into a full-scale mini-engine. On top of that, I've added two new game to the UltraCam collection (BOTW and Pokemon Scarlet/Violet) soon also Echoes of Wisdom and one more unannounced project coming soon. These projects involve some of the most complex modding possible, with custom code, complex systems, and insane amount of reverse engineering.

Membership Price Change:
After discussing with others and carefully considering the scope of these projects, I’ve decided to adjust the pricing for current base tier (Amethyst) from $5 to $10. This will help me continue delivering high-quality work and cover rising costs.

  • If you’re already subscribed to the $5 tier on Patreon, you won’t be charged the increased rate for your first month of re-subscription.

  • On Ko-fi, if you’re an existing subscriber, you can continue paying the current $5 rate even after the price change.

A Look Into the Future: Beta 6 Update

I'm excited to share that Beta 6 is UltraCam's biggest update yet! A brand-new system has been built from the ground up, allowing you to completely change the look of the game. This includes a wide range of improvements like:

  • Adjusting fog, bloom, ambient occlusion, shadow strength, color gamma, and sky color

  • A brand new system allowing you to create reshade like presets for UltraCam! Easier than ever to share with people and also works on the Switch! :)

  • A few base presets have also been created to pick and choose from!

  • Forcing weather effects (like snow in the desert) and Blood Moon!

  • Tweaking environmental effects, and much, much more!

Beyond these visual enhancements, DFPS has been drastically improved. The system has been completely rewritten to be more universal, easier to use, and far more efficient. I've also addressed several issues such as:

  • Climbing and jumping speed are now consistent across all frame rates

  • Cloth simulation speed is consistent across all FPS

  • BOTW music has been adjusted to match the original 30 FPS timing

  • BOTW flurry rush issues have been fixed

  • Depth Buffer flickering has been fixed, which allows for RTGI presets to be used. Like This. This also has improved performance on Emulators.

And that's just a small preview of what's been changed...


Over the past 3 weeks I've been working on Beta 6 upwards of 10-15 hours a day to bring this update to life, I'm excited to announce that Beta 6 will be released Tomorrow. Monday, September 9th!

The past month UltraCam Calamity has went through lots of changes. A brand new UI has been added, took over 100 hours to develop, The Camera system has been once again reworked. Keyframes are now fully controllerable, deleteable, moveable, adjustable, frame pacing, FOV everything one can dream of! You can also fully replay each sequence, just like in any modern Video Player! Read more down Below.

    • For the sake of keeping track of keyframes, each keyframe has it's own Color asigned based on it's hash.

    • Currently in the container they are sorted based on distance (only in the menu, for optimization reasons) Also displays their current health/Max HP (Ik a big requested feature lol)

    • Clicking on An Actor pulls out a menu allowing you to control the actor in Various ways!

      • Change the Actor's MAXHP, Current HP kill or heal an Actor (WORKS ON WEAPONS)!

  • Actor Spawning

    • Allows for the spawn of ANY Actor with a search engine, the search engine is based on Actors kept in the UltraCam Randomizer

    • Currently it's set to spawn actors randomly around link within 5m of distance (There will be spawn modes and cords in the future)

    • Search engine

      • Allows for the search of Individual actors, they will display in the bottom bar

      • Allows for the search of groups of actors (elites, bosses, items etc) Making it easier to navigate with just a controller if desired.

    • For Actor spawning The + and = keys have been replaced with _ for the moment.

Cheats Cheat Menu

  • Game Speed (30 is the default) (DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING BELOW 15, can crash the game).

  • Current Health, Allows you to modify Link's current health in real time.

  • Max Health, Allows you to modify Link's Max Health in real time.

  • Godmode.

  • Kill and Heal.

First Person (REWORK)

  • Now uses Link's absolute head position and face position

  • NearPlane has been adjusted to show more of Link's hands and weapons with no clipping.

  • First Person Now has a DYNAMIC camera.

    • Dynamic camera is used for specific actions such as:

      • Attacking

      • Climbing

      • Ladder climbing

      • Bow

      • Autobuild

      • Ascend

      • Lifting

      • Opening Treasure

      • Cooking

      • Dismount Horse

      • Getting Knocked Down/Getting Up

      • Charge Attacks (Swords, Spear and Claymore lols)

  • Dynamic Camera is very important to make first person feel alot more cinematic and into the moment :), This is very work in progress but i bet most of you have never seen anything like this in a zelda game before.

  • Combat Rework, makes the First Person Camera feel like nothing before it!

  • Allows for the switching between different bones (Left Button and Right Button)

  • Targetting has been completely reworked and improved, now it's 100% accurate.

  • Currently no way to keep Entity camera and switch to LockCam unfortunately, this is still very WIP

  • Pressing A while in Entity Cam will kill the entity attached.

  • Also added a way to find and attach to a specific entity in Menu :)

Sequencer Rework (WIP)

  • Sequencer now uses a class system, the entire system has been overhauled and rewritten

  • Each keyframe is stored in a hash, this hash is later used to find specific keyframes and move them around, it's also used to create a unique color for each keyframe for the Menus.

  • The way duration and time works has been reworked as well, benchmark is untouched.

  • Each keyframe is now stored twice, one for the sequence and one for a recovery point! :) The hash is useful to find the exact recovery keyframe and restore it to it's original Position (look above for the menu interface)

  • A Movie and Keyframe Editors now exist. They are very advanced atm, but maybe more can be done.

FreeCam

  • Internally the way the freecam works has been mostly rewritten, a lot has changed so some behaviors may be different now than they were before.

  • Each camera state is now it's own thing, I.e freecam, playercam, VRcam, EntityCam and Animation and Benchmark. This allows for a much deeper control of the Freecam.

Randomizer

  • UltraCam now has a built in Enemy, Weapon and Item Randomizer, this is just an extra feature that you can toggle and mess with, it's not as advanced or crazy as Waikuteru's randomizer, but you can toggle individual settings very easily and have some fun :)

More Information

This Beta has taken hundreds of hours of work to be completed, the reason why they are taking so long is because of how complex this project has gotten. Only the UI system took around 70-100 hours of time to implement fully, I work on Ultracam every single day, sometimes I spent 10-15 hours fixing or working on things, It's very complex and very difficult to work on. Takes a lot of time and I'm just a single person, I'm currently the only person also testing any of the new features, very likely to have missed some stuff. Please let me know if something isn't working as intended and please provide more information on your particular issue, I need to be able to replicate an issue to be able to fix it. Thank you for supporting this Project.

  • New betas will take longer than previous release cycles, or they may be smaller bug fixes than before, beta 3 has the content update of multiple versions and mods inside of it, fixing bugs and reworking more systems will take a lot of time and a lot of effort. Beta 3 will continue it's update and development cycle for a few months at least, this is to ensure everything runs smoothly and well, Full Public release is unknown as of right now.

New Controls

  • (F12) toggle the Menu Overlay On/Off

Installation Process

  • Standalone

    • Drop the files inside of your Emulator.

    • Drop the exefs/romfs in your switch atmosphere folder.

  • Optimizer Installation

    • Drop the Optimizer.exe in the Optimizer folder dedicated to the EA version.

    • Adjust your settings and hit apply.

    • For switch use the extract setting.

  • TOTK Utility/Console.exe

    • Turn on Ethernet access in your Emulator

    • For switch, change the IP address to match one of your Switch Ipv4 address or PC ipv4 address in both the UltraCam and Console Itself.

UltraCam 3.0 (CALAMITY) Update 2!

UltraCam Calamity 3.0 Beta 2 has over 6000 lines of code changed, massively re-written to fit in a better more manageable code-base. Making it a lot easier to add new features!​​​

Featuring a brand new First Person Mode! With Skyrim like Point of View, this is still very WORK in PROGRESS.

KEEP IN MIND A LOT OF ISSUES MAY BE FOUND WITH THIS POV. It's very easy to toggle it on and off! The Key combination is (HOLD) ZL+ZR and then DOWN or B on keyboard.

Actor Spawning

  • UltraCam is now capable of spawning actors with it's built in console! Simply write spawn 10 Enemy_PhantomGanon inside of the console for example! 

  • ​A list of all actor names can be found in here! Actor CheatSheet​ look for Actor Name! Anything can be spawn! From weapons, to Enemies even Apples and more! Similar to the mod i made in Linkus Video shown here! 

Sequence Saving

  • UltraCam Calamity can now save Custom Camera Animations! Please read the changelog included in the zip file for more information.

Auto-Attach

  • Holding ZL and Pressing A triggers a bow Auto-Reattach mode, this makes it so the previously selected item in the bow menu is automatically re-attached just like in BOTW! It's very useful!

  • Ladder Climbing (LOCKED to 60 FPS)

  • This change was required for a ladder climb to be successfully completed, I'm still looking for a more permanent fix.

TOTK Optimizer 2.0 (UltraCam Beyond) Pre-Release 4 (FINAL)

TOTK Optimizer is about 98% finished at this moment, a few benchmark features are missing I plan to finish them later today or tomorrow, it's fully usable now.

The reason for posting this instead of releasing it to the public tomorrow (28th) as i had planned to, it's because of the recent lawsuit against Yuzu and TOTK. I'd like things to calm down a bit for a few days before the official release is out, my birthday is in about 4 days and I'd be away for 2-3 days, in the meantime you all can have a bit of fun and explore the new Optimizer release that will also be apart of all future EA releases from now onwards, the new Optimizer allows for the loading of pre-made configuration for the UC EA config, making it very easy to integrate any changes inside of it.

It'll become the primary setup for EA branch, no more change this config to get your desired resolution, etc. The optimizer can just set it up for you, it will remember it's settings making it very easy to integrate.

In the meantime, UC also got a few upgrades such as:

  • Up to 480 FPS lock.
  • Delta time stabilization, which increase game fluidity.
  • Benchmark can now be cancelled early.
  • Hybrid FPS.TOTK Optimizer will prioritize using a static Delta when it hit's it's FPS target. DO NOT UNCAP FPS IN YUZU.
    It can now easily lock to 480 FPS if you need uncapped FPS.
  • Fixed Benchmark failures.
  • Fixed 30 FPS cap not working
  • Fixed many other small bugs present in the code.
  • Fixed FOV Player updates not working when config fov is set to 50
  • Fixed Physics jiggling at 60 FPS.
  • Fixed Physic Cogs bugging out in a few shrines.
  • Fixed Player Speed inconsistencies
  • Fixed DFPS inconsistencies

Some of you may be wondering what will there be in the next EA release? I already have something ready to release very soon in march. A dedicated TOTK server console, allowing you to do many things in real time. Such as saving/loading/deleting keyframes, some gameplay aspects like godmode/hp regen and lots lots more, like changing resolutions and shadows in real time. Allows you to change FPS cap in real time to test things out and lots and lots more features. I plan to integrate this eventually into the Optimizer but it will be a difficult job. This console will also allow for the spawn of actors and more but unsure when this will make it to the EA version yet, due to circumstances. (These things are still unfinished and I'd like to take more time to finish all of it.)

A little sneak peak of the console that will come out with Version 3. (Keep in mind not everything is functional in the console at this moment, hence the delays)

UltraCam Beyond Pre-Release 3 (FPS REWORK and FIX SWITCH CRASHES.)

Pre-Release 3 (Beta 7)

  • Reworked FPS GameSpeed calculations. (They should be more accurated)
  • Fixed inconsistencies in FPS calculations.
  • Fixed Climb speed inconsistencies.
  • Fixed Stamina Inconsistencies.
  • Fixed Flying Jitter.
  • Improved FPS stutters.
  • Fixed many other small FPS issues.
  • Improved 30 and 60 FPS caps respectively.
  • Improved Frametimes for 30 and 60 FPS respectively.
  • Fixed resolution switching not working correctly on versions past 1.1.0
  • Fixed Switch Failing to load.
  • Fixed Handheld Controller issues.
  • Added Dedicated handheld Resolution Setting.
  • Added Texture resolution HEAP, incase a texture mod ever comes out.

I recommend giving the previous pre-releases a look to know everything that has happened in between beta 4 and 7. These versions are focused on fixing the current standing issues before i push the release version. This version focused on improving DFPS and SWITCH. It also fixed some internal resolution issues in the meantime.

UltraCam Beyond Pre-Release 2 (Menu Fixes & Vram Fixes, New setting)

Pre-Release 2.0

  • Added a new yuzu.exe for people wanting to try higher internal resolutions - This executable is made by Byte (Yuzu dev). my Friend DarkTalon tested it on a 4090 and it worked a lot better at 8k, no more stuttering. Feel free to give it a try.
  • Fixed Benchmarks not working.Press G on the keyboard to trigger, it will use the config benchmark, if you stay on top of the shrines next to the locations it will trigger those instead.
  • Reworked all the Menu logicMassively Improved the Menu Speeds.
    Massively Improved Menu Animation Speeds.

    Reworked Blackscreen Fix (V3)It should never appear now!
    Reworked Map menus to work way nicer than before.
  • Added New setting for Camera Sensitivity under gameplayAllows you to control each Camera Sensitivity, Vertical and Horizontal.
  • Improved (Reworked) Menu detection Algorithm.

I got a report that this version doesn't work on switch currently, I have no idea why but Beta 4 does. I will investigate but for now I really need a break for 1-2 days at least to cool down, spent 16 hours yesterday fixing stuff.

UltraCam Beyond (Beta 5)

Thank you for supporting the development of UltraCam 2.0 (Beyond Update), YOU ARE WHAT MAKES THIS PROJECT A POSSIBILITY! <3 (Official release within 2 weeks and shortly after Version 3.0 EA will be out)

What comes after?

Once Ultracam Beyond is released, I'm starting to work on Ultracam 3.0, which will feature a new console, that will allow you to do many things, such as changing resolution, shadow resolution, playing benchmarks, saving sequences and a lot more, all of this is currently in development and should be live in about 2 weeks, i have to focus on making TOTK Optimizer 2.0 work with the new UltraCam version and also make it more compatible with future releases of UltraCam. Thank you for supporting this project. None of this would be possible without your support.

The main focus of Version 3 will be on gameplay aspects, as well as continue to improve DFPS and more. Version 3 will allow you to spawn any actors in real time, including NPCS, static meshes and a lot more. TBA more. Version 3 will also start on building it's own Randomizer over the few betas that will come out :). I've already talked with Waikuteru and he has given me permission to develop my own version, keep in mind both Randomizers will be very different from each other and also developed using 2 entirely different methods.

- FULL Resolution support up to 8k (All internally calculated and done in Ultracam)

- Shadows support up to 8k (ON any resolution)

- UltraCam Handheld Controller support

- Handheld resolution support

- Resolution no longer gets messed up when switching handheld->docked->handheld->docked etc.

- Fixed all FOV bugs

- Reduced titlescreen menu FOV (100->80)

- Titlescreen menu is reverted when TriggerWithController is set to off

- Fixed teleportation getting lost when opening a chest/cooking

- Improved Blackscreen fix slightly (more to come)

- Made blackscreen fix work with handheld controllers. Rejoice Switch users.
