The comment about the hyper sexual performance with halle is clearly a personal choice. I just personally dont like performances that are very naked and sexual. But this is art and its simply all about personal preferrance and there really isnt a right or wrong. WHats also funny is that I like the song WAP for certain occasions. That song is SUPER sexual but I feel its more of a comedy piece for me so I enjoy it. I might even like some of Chloe's songs even if they are super sexual, but idk. Guess it depends on my mood. Either way, I loved Halle's new song and performance

Yes an aggressive eating disorder could effect your voice and most liekly your performance stamina

Hi Jesse. I don't know if you've found it yet but if you still need the password please check out the welcome post. Just click on Songs From a Suitcase and it should be the first post, sometimes on the app you might have to refresh for it to pop up. If you still can't find it use the search function and type in BAGGEL (with on G though) and it should bring up the post.

There’s been a large growth for Taylo since the 1989 era. That was when she had her eating disorder and was doing all of these shows being exhausted at the end. She was more critical of herself, her vocals, her dancing and performance wanting it to be precise. When she’d flub a note or not have as crisp of a movement, she was very hard on herself. Now, she’s on her tour messing up lyrics and laughing at herself because of it. She’s more free, I’d say.

Ahh I forget you are still on the John Mayor era of Taylor’s discography but her Album Red Taylor’s version is mostly about her relationship with Jake gyllenhaal another man who was quite a bit older than her. Her lyrical masterpiece All Too Well and All Too Well (10 minute version) are about Jake as well and is thought of as the swiftie fandoms favorite song in her entire discography. Better man is one of the vault tracks from Red. And of course Out of the woods and the majority of 1989 was written about Mr Harry Styles.

First time listening to Bad Idea I was iffy at the start, but it got better. Now each listen I think just gets better and better. I feel its a love right away, or it will grow on you kinda song. For those who don't like it probably need a few more listens.

Ah I'm kinda sad you reacted to the lyric music video for Better Man; her singing it acoustic live is so good. It's one of my fave Taylor songs and I absolutely loved it when Little Big Town came out with it but I like Taylor's version so much more. And yes, she sounds so much stronger vocally in the more recent years which is why it's so awesome that 1989 is going to be the next Taylor's version so it'll be interesting to hear how she sounds singing Out of the Woods now (by the way, that one's about Harry Styles). And yeah, now that she isn't battling her ED on this version of that album, I think she'll sound even better.

So glad you enjoyed Halle’s song! It’s so gorgeous and I love how her debut song is a tribute to herself, so beautiful. And yeah, if you think Chloe x Halle as a duo was too hypersexual, I would say to avoid Chloe as a solo artist lol (not saying you were ever going to check her out but just in case) Chloe has gotten a LOT of flack from being too sexual in her videos/music, but I say all the power to her! I find it amazing when people can be that comfortable with their bodies and I’ve become more and more interested (intellectually ofc haha) in what it means to perform sexuality for yourself and for others. If you like this song from Halle, I think you might be VERY interested in Solange’s music (Beyoncé’s sister). It kind of has a similar vibe to it. “Cranes in the Sky” immediately comes to mind. If I ever save my money up, I’ll totally do a song request for it haha
And I completely agree with you about bad idea right. It actually is now my favorite Olivia song ever. It feels like an evolution of brutal that had a similar level of irony as this one, but the humor and brashness feels much heavier and elevated. It’s genuinely hilarious and refuses to take itself too seriously, which is what makes it great. She totally has carved out her own lane musically and very much understands her brand and that is honestly very impressive considering it’s her sophomoric effort. People spend a lot of time trying to find their sound and place in the industry but these youngins seem to be NAILING it!
Anyways, thrilled that you will be reacting to the Beyoncé Kobe Bryant memorial service. It’s been awhile since I watched it because it made me bawl like a baby (Kobe was my favorite athlete) so it’ll be very interesting to revisit. I hope my schedule allows me to watch it live with you all. As a heads up, there are definitely some
Sound/live mixing issues that became very noticeable, but Beyoncé handled it like the true professional she is. I know that a lot of singers do this, but I really don’t understand how a lot of these people don’t just break down when they perform at funerals and memorials and whatnot. Just a true skill to perform under that pressure and on that level with raw emotion and not to lose it.

Just for context on the Taylor songs, Better Man is believed to be about Jake Gyllenhaal and was written for Red but ultimately cut. Taylor offered it to Little Big Town to record and it smashed and everyone knew Taylor wrote it. I think it’s important to note (but shouldn’t be the main takeaway or influence on 1989 Taylor) that Taylor’s ED had ramped up during 1989 (which she talks about in Miss Americana) and it’s my personal opinion that it had a definite effect on her voice. The concert you watched was recorded in Sydney and was one of the last stops in the 1989 tour. It was definitely a glitzy tour where she brought out a ton of stars to guest etc in a way that her previous and subsequent tours doesn’t have.
