There is going to be a Moana 2!

Amy Winslow

Have you reacted to Frozen yet? I think you’ll really like that one too.

Amy Winslow

Little late but 🤷‍♀️. So if I sit down and watch this it makes me cry too in more than 1 spot, not so much of I put it on for background noise while I clean or something.

HGranger

Shiny. David Bowie. If you've seen Clement do Bowie in the series, "Flight of the Conchords," it's unmistakable.

So glad you watched Moana 🪷🐚⛰️and shared your reaction with us. It is such a special movie. 🎥😁🎊

Koko

If you want check out there are some behind the scenes of recording the soundtrack with Li and is amazing!

yasna gonzalez sanchez

Catching up on these great reactions. As far as Shiny goes... I always thought it reminded me of David Bowie more than Elton... especially the way Clement grinds that lower register into kind of a seductive sigh.

Mithroch

One of my favourite Disney films! Loved watching your reaction!

Josh Middleton

Actually, I think this is the first time I've watched it since my grandmother passed too. The death scene has always gotten me but I was sobbing as soon as the manta ray swam under her boat.

Jennifer Lawrence

Awesome! I'm looking forward to it :)

Gabi Rajic

oh really?! hahah! Ok that makes sense

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

oh it's on the list for sure! I think I'll do Frozen closer to winter tie

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I love this movie and I loved your reaction, like always! I think one day you should react to Frozen or Tangled, they're two of my favorite musical Disney movies :)

Gabi Rajic

I lost her to uterus cancer. She was the strongest woman I've ever known, a single mom who raised two kids all by herself. Who took care of her three brothers and acted like glue to everyone that knew her. An amazing woman, who fought against the cancer and held it back for much longer than any doctor's ever thought she would. When doctor's are surprised you're still alive, that's saying something! But near the end she spent all her time sleeping with all the medicine to keep her comfortable. We had to rotate in shifts, keeping watch over her because we knew it wouldn't be long. She still held on for two weeks, though! I'm sorry you also had to go through this pain, but I can say I understand <3 Thank you for sharing! And she's always with me! Though that comment made me cry all over again, haha.

Cain Haynes

I get that. I lost my grandma to Progressive Supranuclear Palsy in 2020. It is the same disease that Zoey's dad had on Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. It hit very hard because I knew she was with us, but she was unable to speak at all. Any movie like this one and Coco had me an emotional wreak, but it also made me remember how much I love her and how much she continues to mean to me.

Larka

The actor/ singer who played Dr. Frank-n-furter from the original rocky horror. He also sang Toxic Love in Ferngully.

Haughtbreaker Nic

The song that has the layers you liked at around the 25 minute mark has Lin Manuel singing in it.

Gustavo Rojo-Buendia

everyone keeps saying Coco so thats now at the top of my list

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

ok that and Coco are going on my list

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Wait whos Tim Curry?

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

hahah YOLO is right! Glowing water feels best on bare boobies teeheehee

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Yea I didnt realise it was Nicole until after I saw the movie. Crazy!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

wow 14! Thats crazy! Isnt she cast in the new live action as well?

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Yes he played Evan when Covid started & he returned when broadway opened back up after shutdown.

Jackie Warner

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I want a stuffed animal Pua!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

There is nowhere you can go that she wont be with you <3

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

One of my absolute favorites!

Jennifer Lawrence

I lost my grandma some years ago (It doesn't feel like years) and this movie always hurts with the grandma scenes for me. Yet, I still watched it with you, because wow, it's just such a beautiful, well done movie! Glad you liked it a lot as well!

Cain Haynes

I love the movie. I watched it so many times and I never get tired of it!!! And Pua (the piggy) and Heyhey are the cutest side kicks!

aLYa24

Ice age 1 to 6

Ju

Frozen

My suggestions for future reactions :

Tbh I prefer Lins version of You're Welcome it's Lin Manuel Miranda & Jordan Fisher. It's a great version of it. You should look into Jordan Fishers singing he's excellent(he's currently on broadway in Sweeney Todd but he's been on Disney & few live action musicals like grease live & rent live) & his solo work is great.

Jackie Warner

Moana is also one of my favorite movies. But the best Disney movie for me is probably Coco. By the way, just so you know, you missed the post credit scene again. Sometimes in movies they just are, and that's why you should always wait until the very end, just in case there's something there. :-)

DoryTheFish

Looove this movie!! If it weren't for Coco (which, I REALLY hope you'll react to aswell) Moana might have been my favorite Disney movie. The songs are great, and yea I agree Shiny is a really great song! :D I don't know if you recognized it but Lin Manuel actually sang in the movie, he sang the Ancestors song

You’ll cry during Coco. Still can’t watch that one without crying like a baby. It’s another one that really integrates the culture into the movie. I think it’s because like Moana and Frozen, the people who were behind the film went to Mexico to study the culture, the music, etc. and it brings a level of authenticity that older Disney movies didn’t have. That one will get you in all of the feels and has excellent music.

Mia

This movie is stunning in it's entirety - the music, the visuals, the acting, the story. The fact that Auli'i was 14 when she was cast (16 by release) is wild. She has so much talent and it's mind boggling. Nobody else could have voiced this role the way that she did. And I love that Disney finally did a movie based on the Polynesian culture. I saw it twice in theaters when it came out, and I cried like a baby both times. No shame in crying at Disney. I cried during both Frozen movies too xD

Megan Christina

Moana has been one of my top Disney movies since it came out. Being a Pacific Islander, this movie hits on so many levels for me. Lin Manuel Miranda and his collaborators (He wrote You're Welcome, How Far I'll Go, and Shiny outright, but collaborated with Mark Mancina and Opetaia Foa'i on the others) did a great job of showcasing the culture of the South Pacific in these songs. I loved how integral the music was to the whole movie, something I haven't really felt all throughout a Disney movie before this one. It has been announced that Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) will return as Maui for the Live Action version, but no one else has confirmed their participation in it. The connection to family is so strong in our culture and I was in absolute tears at the scene on the boat when her grandma's spirit came to visit her. I recently had a similar experience with my own grandmothers (both of whom have passed away) and I hadn't seen this movie since then so I was extra emotional about it. Everything about this movie was stunning. The music, the acting, the singing, the animation...I am so amazed at how well it is done. This movie was definitely robbed when it came to the awards shows, it should have won so many more than it did and no offense to La La Land, but Lin Manuel Miranda should have won the Oscar for How Far I'll Go. It would have made him the youngest ever EGOT winner. The only thing I might change is that I would have showcased Moana's mom more and maybe given her a song because I feel like they underutilized the amazing talent of Nicole Scherzinger

Gemma Rivera

Moana is definitely in my top 3 also! My senior year of high school my AP Biology class took a trip to the research center at Wallops Island, VA by the Chesapeake Bay and the last night we had a bonfire on the ocean side beach. The phytoplankton were extremely active that night so the water was just glowing so all the girls decided to go out swimming in the glowing water (still not sure why we also decided to take all our tops off, too, but yolo?). It was incredibly magical and I will never forget that night.

Annie Willow

Ooooh!!!! I thought he sounded familiar! OMG!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

KOOKY DUKES: Crazy $hit. lol. I'm not a fan of the song Shiny, mostly because it feels like a song that should be sung by Tim Curry, but isn't. Man I haven't seen this since my grandmother died, and yesterday was the anniversary of her death so this hit hard. The "Know Who You Are" scene is always so stunning.

Haughtbreaker Nic

The singing voice of the chief was Chris Jackson the one who played George Washington in Hamilton

Steffan williams

I think you’d like Tangled too

Paige

Moana is top 3 disney for me, i adore the soundtrack and i also cry watching it every time at the grandmas death and the end haha. Another great one for emotional depth and some good songs is coco its my number one fave for its story.i recommend it very highly Also i'm soo glad you liked the shiny song by the big crab haha. I love that song and noone ever talks about it. The guy singing it is jermaine clement, a great improvisational comedian. I really like his voice ive heard him sing in a few things.
