After watching them both, I have to say I prefer the original. I agree with you about the diction, it’s a little more clear, and I like the bass background more. But the glee version is still great. For me, it’s in the category of glee songs that good but not as good as the og.

She also has a really really nice duet that I can't wait for you to get to!

She's so talented and creative and unique in her style. That dancing was amazing! Whenever mirror face appears, it's an imagery tool that represents how you see yourself. Since they were hanging around Janelle in the video I'm guessing that the whole performance represents how Janelle's character sees herself, so carefree and energetic compared to the reality of her being kept in that room.

2023-04-19 02:29:55 +0000 UTCJanelle Monáe is so fun and vibrant. I think the first I had heard of them was when they did the Prince tribute at the BET Awards in 2010(?) I remember thinking that they were very much a student of James Brown and Prince. For much of their earlier career, they were always in these sort of tuxedo looks with that hairstyle. And then she made one of my favorite albums ever with Dirty Computer. Now, Samantha Ware certainly made the song her own! She did a phenomenal job!

Samantha Ware is also the reason Lea Michele's bad behavior got blown into the open the way it did. First time I found Janelle Monáe is We Are Young by fun. Second time was actually cause a youth group I went to at the LGBTQ+ center to likes to have a night twice a year where they show us music by people in the LGBTQ+ community and she was one of them
