I only found this out recently because I've been listening to the Supernatural re-watch podcast, but if you watch season 1 on Netflix, the soundtrack is different to what originally aired. I guess they didn't get the music rights for streaming, so the original music is on the DVDs, but they had to change the songs for Netflix. Bummer too, because the original airing had some KILLER music! P.S. Don't listen to the podcast before you've watched the whole series!!! MAJOR spoilers all the way through!!

The fact that it left the kid alone since he was next to the fireplace was foreshadowing that fire can harm it. - Yep, he said “I taste good” XD - Yes, they’re going to keep finding monsters to hunt in the hopes that they’ll eventually find a clue as to where their dad is. A common theme throughout the series is them looking for new cases by, for example, finding strange stories in the newspaper (and, later, on the internet). These are known as Monster Of The Week (MOTW) episodes, and as you mentioned, they happened a lot in X Files too 😊

I'm having such a fine time with these watch parties already (not that I haven't been with all of the others!) and it's reminding me of how much I loved this season and how many episodes I can't wait to see you react to ( maybe I'll even brave 12+ years of nightmares from episode 5 and see if your reactions help me face my biggest childhood fear! )
