Maddie and Charlie have both spoken often on the show's intention for them to model for young fans a healthy relationship based on being best friends first and that the focus was on their soul bond before any physical connection. That, rather than age, is what they talk about in all interviews and livestreams. But Kenny Ortega said they'd kiss in season 3 or 4 and that Juke was end game. Fans that were at the most recent convention have said Kenny told them that Julie and Luke would have had kids at the end that followed them into music, but I haven't seen anything posted online that shows him saying it and the cast still say they aren't allowed to tell what they know was planned... though as an aside, Charlie apparently said at the same convention that Jeremie's song that he co-wrote (Talking To A Memory) was meant for Luke and Julie in the show at some point when Caleb had the guys.

However since she’s 15, and he 18/19, they were going to wait for the eventual season 2 to have them kiss or anything but now we’ll never see that or if it could happen. Ugh stupid Netflix And yes the songs are amazing because Kenny Ortega it’s a genius! Lol

I usually gravitate towards one or two, but I love them all and each of the boys has their own unique charm that is endearing. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of this series.

They all actually play and sing- they performed live for the scenes (Kenny Ortega wanted it to be realistic) and so there’s a slight difference in the songs from the show and the soundtrack. Madison (Julie) was 15 when they filmed. Her first real role ever. Her father is a photographer- he mentions it in the 1st episode- said he had shoots all day and didn’t eat.
