Chat group
Added 2022-12-20 15:47:06 +0000 UTCI would LOVE to enhance the chatting in this group. The only way I know how to do that is through DISCORD. It’s already hooked up and connected but I don’t feel like it’s the best platform for chatting. 🤔
I know of better platforms, however they’re not directly connected to Patreon which means if someone doesn’t pay their monthly subscription then I won’t know and they could stay in the chat room even after they don’t pay.
Soo…ideas?
How could we make discord more chat friendly and encouraging?
Are there other platforms directly connected to Patreon?
Does this even matter to you or are you happy with the way things are?
Should we move everything to a totally new platform? (I feel this is super dangerous that we would lose a LOT of members who won’t switch)
What do you think about DISCOURSE?

I'd love to have an active chat to go to. I don't always have time to be around and watch everything and comment everything in here, but I could pop into a chat here and there through the days. I'm not a fan of Discord, but will take whatever you decide works best for you :)

2022-12-21 03:02:39 +0000 UTCI have been using Discord for years so keeping it on that would probably be your best option. Is there a link somewhere for this Discord? Maybe some YouTube tutorials on "Manging a Discord server" will certainly help you! It's not too complicated, the way it looks though it does seem like that but once you get use to it it's a piece of cake to use

2022-12-21 01:34:01 +0000 UTCDiscord is actually super easy. Maybe you could watch a tutorial on youtube or something. I personally really like it. It would really suit you as well to go along with your content since you have multiple interests. There are options for multiple channels so you could make one for Glee/zoey all the watch parties the singing and just general chatting. You could also appoint someone or someone’s as principals to help you moderate, and add channels when new interest come along.

2022-12-21 00:17:38 +0000 UTCI just saw on something I looked up they discontinued the Community tab for new creators after 2018 😕. This was a super convenient tab that was built right into the Patreon page. It really sucks they discontinued it.

2022-12-20 23:51:33 +0000 UTCI vote yes.... I love Discord. I am in several channels/groups for gaming and movie watching. I also manage my son's discord (ain't no creepers getting near my kid so I manage it with him). I love that with in the discord you can set up several topics in different rooms. Like a glee room, a disney room, a food room, what ever you like. One of my groups has a parents brag book to brag on our kids, a Fur moms room, a tattoo room. What is also cool is the ability to allow others to watch a movie or videos together. So if me and 12 other patrons got to chatting about a favorite movie in common we could go into the room and watch it together all could hear/see it together. You could do true blue live reactions and folks could ask questions chat ect. Also discord automatically assigns colors or symbols to users based on to users based on level of activity so you could tell who's really envolved who's trolling or whatnot. You can also assign or give mod rights to certain people you trust so they can kick/ban or manage issues when you are not logged in. I support the discord decision.

2022-12-20 19:07:49 +0000 UTCDiscord is a great place for chatting and I've used it plenty of times for different groups that I'm in, subreddits and gaming groups as an example. It just takes people actually going there and utilizing it and getting the ball rolling. I joined as soon as I came over here from watching on YouTube but since I've only watched glee content so far I haven't really talked because that channel seems kind of like it doesn't get traffic. I'll be caught up with one more episode and then I'll start watching other content for sure so I'll check out other channels as I go to see if there's any chatter.

2022-12-20 16:53:16 +0000 UTCI haven’t used it but I’ve heard it works well. Just an FYI discord isn’t great at removing people that don’t pay if that factors into your decision. I’m still linked to multiple creators I tried and moved on from.

2022-12-20 15:56:29 +0000 UTCI don’t find Discord difficult for chatting. With how I currently use Discord it would be a great improvement to Patreons “chatting” function. What are the issues with Discord? Does the integration with Patreon make it wonky? I wouldn’t recommend moving. I agree that you would probably lose a lot of subscribers. (Unless there is some new platform that makes theses transitions seamless)
