Idina got injured in her second last show. So although Shoshana’s big break was certainly Wicked, it didn’t really have anything to do with Idina’s injury.

Is it different if it’s before opening night? Or is this different as well because it was a nationwide talent search and was different than regular auditions?

2022-09-12 22:27:16 +0000 UTCInteresting about the understudy thing because I thought that’s what happened to JoAnna Pacciti when she was casted as Annie. She got the part and I believe played Annie for at least opening night but then she got strep throat and couldn’t perform so they had her understudy perform and then the audience ended up taking to the understudy more so they fired JoAnna Pacitti and the understudy got the role at least I thought I remembered hearing that that was how she was fired from Annie.
