What in the 2010

Katie Kat

I feel the same way. I had watched a few episodes here and there but it wasnt until the watch parties that I actually feel in love

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I'm watching this now for the first time and I gotta say...DAMN THEIR TALENT. Like, I knew they were all talented, duh, but watching them perform live...I still have chills all over my body. Even Heather (Brittany), who might be the weakest singer (since she is actually a dancer) did an awesome job on I'm A Slave 4U, she managed to still sound fairly good while dancing and swirling around. And her dance moves are to die for. Also I might have to say, despite me being obsessingly-in-love with Naya and my respect to Lea's singing, that the best singer of them all is the queen herself: Miss Amber Riley. Someone mentioned they used Glee to heal...well, you are not alone. I never watched Glee fully when it aired (I was 21 and believed I had outgrown the high school drama shit), just some episodes here and there, but Naya Rivera's death striked me like a lightning bolt, so I started watching it, and it really helped me through it. Now I binge watch the show every time I feel down, even if I must admit I have a love-hate relationship with it haha. I love your watch parties, Audrey. Lots of love from Spain <3

Triana

Do you know is S3 ep 1 is gonna be posted today? 😊

Tiffany T

I;m totally loving the show! I;m so happy to watch it with you as well. <3

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

This is why I’m so in love with this show. When it came out I was in high school, I did struggle. I was living in Abu Dhabi for 3 years and loved it there. My dad got a job in Ontario (after living in Montreal for most of my life) and I absolutely hated it here. I attempted suicide. I was happy when I watched this show. It brought so much joy and understanding in a bad time. No one is ever completely alone. Actually, Glee does the song “no one is alone” in season 5. It’s a beautiful song! Audrey, it makes me so happy that you love the show.

Georgia Beauchemin

Yea I kept wondering if the adults I saw in the audience were there by themselves or with kids. haha! I could totally see it go either way.

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

It's crazy how this show has changed people around the world. I'm happy to bring back those memories for you <3

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Oh good!! I;m happy to make a fun place for you to watch them. I do have plans for more tv show musicals, however HSMTMTS wont be one. Sadly I get sick from the camera style. The filming moves around too much and makes me sick to my stomach. I have a weird thing with my eyes and it makes moving angles no good. But there's plenty of future shows to choose from

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

good for you for wearing the Glee shirts regardless of being teased! That's a huge thing for a teenager to do! I;m stoked i could bring back such wonderful memories watching these with you <3

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I was fortunate enough to get to see the concert TWICE live. The first day I was in the nosebleeds because that was all I could afford, but there was a Glee fashion show at the mall where you dressed up as a character, walked the runway, and then got judged. My homemade Cheerios uniform and strut got me a 9.5 and a set of tickets close up on the day I hadn't had tickets for (there were two Toronto dates.) I will never forget the magic that was brought to me on those days, getting to see them live. I was at the tail end of 9th grade, so I was 14 going on 15, and Glee did so much for me. Glee helped me come out, helped me find a bit of my voice (which I'm still finding), sparked my love again for music, and helped me feel like I was safe even when people in my day to day life at school treated me like gum on the bottom of their shoes. Interestingly enough, I was mocked like crazy for being a gleek, but I wore those Glee shirts all the time. Not in this video are Dog Days Are Over, Friday, Somebody To Love, as well as dancing to Single Ladies, and the skit(s) in the bonus features! And a side note, I love watching these along with you, because it brings back that similar magical feeling of watching things week to week, eagerly anticipating what's next (despite already knowing) and having a friend to do it with (you)

Megan Christina

Just and FYI. There was one more song after the credits. It was "Dog Days Are Over" and it was pretty awesome.

Lisa Guerrero

I definitely find comfort in your Glee song reaction videos and Glee watch parties. Just like the girl in the 3D concert movie, I'm autistic. And Glee is my biggest love and biggest obession. But I was too young when the hype was going on while it was airing to really be involved. I only really got talking to fellow Gleeks during season 6. And since the show ended no one seems to watch it or talk about it anymore, at least not in a positive way. So watching you discovering the show for the first time and joining you in watching it has really made me happy. I constantly look forward to your videos and I hope that you'll continue to do watch parties for other musical shows after you've finished with Glee. Maybe you could do HSMTMTS and Austin & Ally for example. But yeah, thanks for doing all these videos. They mean so much to me, more than you know. 😊

Siobhan Linehan

This movie makes me so happy, it really takes me back to 2011 when I was 17/18 and in the thick of Glee mania. I dragged my sister in law to the concert in London because none of my friends were Gleeks and it was amazing. I felt so happy singing all the songs and being around other people who just 'got' it. And then when the movie came out in cinemas, I had just got my exam results and hadn't got into university so was feeling really upset and worried, but I went to the cinema and for those two hours just forgot about it all and embraced the joy of Glee and the music and my favourite characters. This honestly was the high point of the show and it was such a force of good, it taught me so much about the world and about people who are different, and I still have such a fond place in my heart for it <3 There was also a Klaine kiss in the show that didn't make the movie, you can find the skit on YouTube but for the last show in Ireland, Darren kissed Chris as a surprise because they had a dare going to try and make the other one corpse onstage, so that was really funny to see people going crazy about! Also I really hope you react to the last song after the credits!

Romy

I think it was more of a running joke that Kevin (Artie) was one of the best dancers but was playing the kid in a wheelchair. They never held dance auditions for the show. The main cast only ever had to do acting and singing auditions. Heather (Britney) was brought in to teach Chris (Kurt) the Single Ladies dance. Everyone loved her so they kept her around and she created the ditzy character off of one of the characters in Mean Girls. Harry (Mike) was just a day player. He auditioned for the show and was asked to do one episode. He joined at the same time as the guy that played Matt. I guess they liked them enough and kept asking them to come back. That is actually how a lot of the characters outside of the main group got their roles. I believe it was the same way for Ashley (Lauren Zizes) and even Darren (Blaine).

Ashley

I remember taking my mom to one of the shows they filmed in New Jersey... we thought we would be the only adults there with no kids.... but we were far from it. Everything from elderly couples to toddlers, lol. It was a great community experience then and I think this online community experience now is why I'm revisiting the show with patreon. The only inside info i remember about the filming was that they filmed "happy days are here again" and maybe a warbler song again after the encore to get a better take.

Lauren

aw he seems so sweet

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

OMG this is beautiful! Sounds like you had at least one good friend. <3

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Yea I suck at playing poker!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

This is such a beautiful story. Glee is just so much deeper than I ever thought from the outside. I just love hearing these stories that come from the show. <3

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

yea I was surprised at how Brittany and Mike were in a LOT of the songs dancing their buts off and then singing in the next song. Crazy cardio!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I;m sure you were screeming the songs right along!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Brittany sounded live. hmmm... I wonder if they just purposely didn't add many effects to it and kept it raw so it would "sound" like it was live?

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

hahah! I love that idea about messing with eachother.

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

brushing off the dust haha!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

oh they were amazing!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I also enjoy watching Harry and Heather dancing because they have so many extra movements etc.

During the concert in LA, and most of the run, Lea sang Firework right after Born This Way. She sang Don’t Rain on my Parade in LA and some other concerts but it was this tour where one night she almost forgot the words to the song and it gave her so much anxiety she stopped singing it the rest of the tour. As far as I understand it she has a severe anxiety disorder that she hides well with perfectionist tendencies, do it perfectly or not at all.

JustAlyssa87

Every time I watch this I always wonder why Lea Michele is not a part of Born this Way and Forget You. Were they right before her solos? I saw the concert I just don't remember the actual order of the songs but I do know that this concert is not in order and is missing performances. Plus I do not remember Lea Michele performing Don't Rain on My Parade at the concert in Philly either. Does anyone know did she only perform Don't Rain on My Parade for the filming of this show?

Lydia Shepard

I was at the concert in NJ where they filmed some of it. I was on the left side of the stage and I saw behind the stage where the cast would wait to come out. One thing that I will not forget, is Cory waving towards us and being very interactive with the crowd

Alexandra Raczek

It was announced today that Lea is playing Fanny

Adam Poling

Lea Michele singing Don’t Rain on My Parade at the 2011 Grammy Awards. Now that Beanie has been fired from Funny Girl everyone is talking about Lea replacing her. Lea has been obsessed with Barbara her whole life and has met her idol a few times and after one award show where they both performed Barbara gave her a hug and asked her if she sang ok!

Stephanie Authier

Ok Audrey, I’m officially opening my DVD 📀 of the Concert that I bought in 2011 because of your watch party. 😂

Stephanie Authier

The scar on Kurt's neck is from lymph node surgery he had as a child. The movie leaves out the encore songs. Kurt does the Single Ladies dance on this tour. They also cut out some of the in-between moments. They showed a bit of it but there was a skit between Britney, Blaine, Santana, and Kurt. The Kurt and Blaine portion of the skit changed at almost every show. It became a game between the actors to try to make each other break character.

Ashley

Artie performed Safety Dance during the entire tour tho.. he was out of his wheelchair bc it's a dream sequence in the show where he dances, that's why it was the only song where he was out of the chair, but i'm pretty sure he performed safety dance on every night of the tour with the same choreo :)

leslie martin

It’s funny that “Holly Holiday” wasn’t even supposed to be in the concert but she was in Ireland the same time as the Glee concert and offered to sing in it! Also the directors were very against Artie dancing in the concert because they wanted to uphold his character being in a wheelchair but since the Ireland show was their last concert show and his whole actual family was at the concert they let him perform that song!

Ayan

loved this!! my fave performances were : - the warblers, it was so good! in the show they're not my faves at all, but live it was so good - Rachel bc wow she's singing so much in this and slaying it everytime! in some performances of other cast members she's not in the background bc she was off stage running and changing bc she was performing so much - Brittany!!! i swear she's the best performer! i always watch her in every performance! definitely not the best voice on the show, even if she isn't bad either, but she shines so much even in the background of some performances! - i also loved the river deep performance but i always was a bit "annoyed" at how Mercedes energy didn't match Santana's.. i feel like the dancers + the cast in the background + Santana were really more into the performance than Mercedes.. idk she was busy delivering vocals so that's fine i guess, but it's just a difference that always bothered me lol! (although there was a date in the tour where Naya wasn't there and Amber sang the song on her own and it was INSANE!!! also i love how funny the cast is in the background during that song, especially during the last tour date it was so so fun) that tour was GREAT! as you can imagine, bc it's a movie, some post production got done on their voices, and i'm pretty sure no background vocals were actually sung live (like the "oh" and "ah" were definitely lip synced by the cast haha) and i think some performances like Brittany's one wasn't live, it had too much dancing they pre recorded it, but i don't blame them bc that show was insane! i saw this movie in a movie theater in France with my friends and it was so so good!! love this show, love this cast, love their talent so much :) and thank you for those reactions!!

leslie martin

This is so good! I agree that Kurt has so much better songs to sing but maybe they have chosen this for back story or some reason like this. I don't know. If you want to react that last song which you didnt noticed, here's the link: https://youtu.be/86073otW1cY Kevin's (Artie) voice is so underrated in my opinion too. And Cory sang so good although he is originally a drummer. Can't wait season 3. There are good songs in it.

Moona

I just love watching the cast members enjoy each other’s performances. When they’re not performing they’re cheering each other on. It’s so sweet.

Rasha

So for my 13th birthday, my mom got me tickets to see them live in Las Vegas. I was so excited. We had amazing seats. It was the best birthday of my teenage life.

Tyler Mckenzie

This watch party brings back so many memories. I was at the actual show that they taped for the movie and I can tell you that the energy in that building was at least 10 times more electric than it felt onscreen. A lot of people didn't give this cast as much credit as they deserved. They truly were the hardest working cast in the business during seasons 1 and 2, going into season 3. I do wish they had done a tour after season 3, but I think they deserved that break because they had been going nonstop for 3 years. Cory, Naya, Kevin, Heather, and Harry are such amazing and charismatic performers. And I have to give a shoutout to Harry because the opening act for the tour was LXD (Legion of Extraordinary Dancers) and he was an active performer and choreographer for that part of it as well, so he was a busy busy guy during that tour, and hats off to him because his energy never wavered at all and he gave his all for every performance. It was during this concert that my eyes were opened about how amazing Naya was as a performer, and how much she added to the performances without us realizing it. It was seeing them do Empire State of Mind live that made me realize that she was the lead voice of the chorus in that number and during Forget You when I could hear her doing the amazing ad libs. Like so many others out there, this show helped me heal back then and it continues to do so today during my rewatches. Thank you so much for watching along with us Audrey!

Gemma Rivera

The show's choreographer was upset when choreographing the pilot because the best dancer was playing the kid in the wheelchair. They added Mike and Brittney during the first season to give the choreographer more to work with.

Wayne Joy

Love the fan stories. I found Glee by accident. Long after it had ended about 3 1/2 years ago. I was at the tail end of a severe emotional breakdown. My son who was 12 at the time was my 1 hero and rock. We started watching The Flash and got hooked on Grant Gustin. We eneded up searching his Glee appearances. Then we started S1 E1, and the rest was history. I have had some of the best open and bonding conversations with my son watching the show. Really hard topics that parents don't always know how to start. We talked about gat, straight, trans. Bullies, drugs, alcohol, depression, suicide, racism, how to notice red flags in someone hurting, how to be kind and not stand for cruelty to himself or anyone around him. When Kurt was bullied in the first seasons. I was amazed by his reaction. I remember him asking with all his innocence, " Is that guy mean to him because he is gay.?" I said yep, and it happens a lot everyday." He made a face, and said, "well that's dumb, who cares if he is gay as long as he is nice to me, I'd be his friend. " simple as that.. When he learned that Finn died in real life, and why he asked me a lot about drugs, and swore off every wanting anything like that to happen to him. I'm not ashamed to admit I totally used Glee to heal, and developed an amazing bond with my baby that makes him comfortable to ask me anything.

LisaMarie_82

So glad you liked it.. Now I'm convinced we would make great friends. I am known for saying a 10000 words with my face. The look during Gwyneth's song.. Like confused, not sure if I liked it or not but going with it anyway... 😆😆😁😁

LisaMarie_82

Glee was the first concert I’ve only been to (out of 3), I was 12 and it was in Ohio. Literally everybody was dressed up like the characters and it was a crazy phenomenon for sure! I remember it being fun and their singing all being amazing but it’s kind of a blur 🤣 but I remember Lea and Chris’s duet for Defying Gravity live being so beautiful. I literally would go rewatch videos of that same performance because it was like the best thing I had ever heard

Ally D.

omg yeah it is i wonder if this is before or after the glee project

fry

The encore of the very last show was crazy! https://youtu.be/IaaDEaXYJg0

Annie Willow

I love the Concert Movie for all the fan stories but I also love watching clips from the people who when to the shows for all the fun moments of the cast in the background. Especially the shows towards then end of the tour, they really were having an absolute blast and really let loose and jumping into performances that they weren’t normally in.

Annie Willow

They did in the 2010 tour after season 1 along with Jump, Bad Romance, Like a Prayer and a bunch of others from season 1. https://youtu.be/S0LnAjyhlKs

Annie Willow

i remember the first time i watched this i was shook cause i knew glee was big but i didn’t understand they were a whole phenomenon

fry

I’m so confused They performed more songs in the tour. ?? Where was it there was a few songs that was missed

Tahoney Williams

I was actually introduced to Glee from a friend of mine while we were in grade 8 and it was in its second season. My friend actually introduced it to me cause the end of my grade 7 year I got outted. I told a small group of people I thought I could trust that I'm queer and one of them told their friends and it spread like wildfire. By half way through my grade 8 year the bullying was so bad cause of it that even though I was switching into high school at the end of the school year my parents had to transfer me to a different school. My friend showed me the show going "Hey I think you'd really like this show cause it's a TV musical and there's a character in it that goes through something super similar" so we watched it and then my mom got me the concert DVD and I heard Trenton's story and I balled

Jay Johnston

I wasn’t able to go to the concert so I obsessively watched the videos from people posting on YouTube. There was such an energy and camaraderie in the Glee fandom that year. It made my whole summer brighter that year.

Jennifer Adame

I went to this concert at TD Garden in Boston when I was 15. It was mind-blowing how many people were there, the energy was incredible. I really didn't give many of the actors enough credit at the time, especially like Cory and Naya who weren't seasoned performers. You can tell that the audio was edited for the movie but they all still sound amazing.

Kristina

Chris Colfer has a scar on the left side of his neck from vascular surgery as a child. And Darren Criss did meet the little boy from the movie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViJYgTZu-IM

KJ Dogmom

I never realized but the guy who will play Rory in season 3 was in the audience

Teri

hahaha! Ok that makes total sense!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Yea I rmemeber hearing that. Pretty amazing!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Yayyyyy!!!

LisaMarie_82

Your reaction to Heather Morris dancing reminded me - did you know she was a backup dancer for Beyonce before Glee? She's a pretty accomplished dancer.

Erin

I didn’t get to go to the tour, but I did see the concert movie when it came to theaters. It’s kinda funny now how this show was such a regular part of my week when I was 14-16. I really was a high schooler during most of the show’s run and back then, I didn’t know what it was that set me apart from a lot of my peers. But I knew that I wasn’t like them, and now ten years later, everything makes a lot more sense in a way it could’ve have back then.

Mia

It's funny that you mention the music at the very beginning reminded you of bees because it's actually called Flight of the Bumblebee.

Clay W

My favorite performances from this tour are "Valerie", "River Deep, Mountain High", and the Warblers section of the concert. It is amazing how popular Glee was. There is actually such a contrast between the 2010 tour and the 2011 tour. The 2010 tour was in smaller venues (multiple shows in 4 different cities) I think they could've easily been doing arenas on the 2010 tour. The 2011 tour was in arenas and they went to cities in the US, Canada, and Europe. Always wished the cast would've been able to do one last tour in between the break of the end of Season 3 and the start of Season 4. Season 3 has some of the best covers from the show in my opinion so it is such a shame Season 3 songs weren't performed live. I would've loved to hear a lot of songs from Season 3 live notably "Rumour Has It/Someone Like You" (Amber and Naya did perform it live at an event but there isn't a full version of that performance that has been posted online), "Smooth Criminal", and "Paradise By the Dashboard Light".
