Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 - HDR Optimized Settings
Added 2024-10-21 21:07:33 +0000 UTC
The game DOES USE/APPLY Xbox , Playstation and PC HDR Calibration app settings.
Like the latest entries, the game has a very good HDR implementation as it will actually read and apply the system HDR Calibration app settings directly to the in-game HDR sliders as soon as you open the game, with a measured Peak HDR Luminance up to 10.000 nits.
That said the game on first opening may still ask you to review/confirm those automatically entered settings for both Black Point and Peak HDR Luminance sliders.

If you want to be sure the values you see there are correct, read below.
If you have an LG OLED and:
> you're using Dynamic Tone Mapping or Dynamic Contrast:
Set HDR Black Point slider to: 0.00 (nits)
Set HDR White Point slider to: 0.90 (which is around 4.000 nits in-game)
> you're using HGIG:
Set HDR Black Point slider to: 0.00 (nits)
Set HDR White Point slider to: 0,73 (which is around 800 nits) or 0,76 (for G2/C4; 1.000 nits) or 0,80 (for G3/G4; 1500 nits)
If you don't have an LG OLED and:
> you don't have an HGIG option:
Set HDR Black Point slider to: 0.00 (nits)
Set HDR White Point slider to: 0.76 (which is around 1.000 nits in-game)
> you're using HGIG:
Set HDR Black Point slider to: 0.00 (nits)
Set HDR White Point slider to the corresponding real Peak HDR Luminance of your TV in "nits" for the "Actual Game Peak Brightness" column:

BONUS:
Disable Film Grain: by setting it to 0.00 to improve picture clarity
Enjoy :)

Awesome, you’re the man! How do you get this knowledgeable? I’ve been going through the process playing this chess game trying to figure it out for fun just to stop the HDMI loss lol

2025-02-14 14:47:54 +0000 UTCDon't game with DV. DV is good for movies but disable it just for games and use HDR + HDR Calibration app to set it up for games. CoD will then read/apply HDR settings from there.

2025-02-13 19:32:03 +0000 UTCHow do i access these nit level sliders because Dolby vision requires a minimum of 1,000 nits, so I’ve seen, and that’s not possible on LG C4 as it dims the brightness even with it being on 100 pixel brightness. I have a series X and am have had countless times where the HDMI loses signal when opening/closing an app or game.

2025-02-13 19:30:41 +0000 UTCHey mate. On XSX the game is pretty dark. Both LG C3 settings and HDR calibrated for DTM. Worth turning up menu brightness up a notch or 2?

2024-10-30 04:12:23 +0000 UTCYes as LG fixed TPC/GSR for LG C2 (if you're on latest firmware) so those coupled with all my latest settings for it are safe for normal use ;)

2024-10-29 13:50:53 +0000 UTCHi P40L0 !! You suggest to turn off screen move and logo brightness logo. Is there any risk of burn in when I disable these settings ? I am LG C2 owner. Thank you in advance

2024-10-25 14:41:30 +0000 UTCI’m locked out of changing HDR settings in game on my XSX. Is it safe to assume it’s using the system level calibration?
