Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero - HDR Optimized Settings

The game is NOT using/applying Xbox, Playstation or PC HDR Calibration app settings.

The game after patches has a fairly good HDR implementation as it now reaches 10.000 nits Peak HDR Luminance in some occasions but still with just a generic "Brightness" slider in-game which will only affect the exposure of the picture.

By default the HDR rendition is too dark compared to SDR (with only the highlights having high luminance) so I recommend increasing the "Brightness (HDR)" slider to 100 (Max)

Then I recommend using HGIG in order to have both bright colors similar to SDR but without making highlights too washed out

Enjoy,

I think it changed after patches but you're right. Post updated ;)

In my testing and also gaming tech on YouTube, the max luminance value I got was 10.000 nit instead of 1.000 nits (PC version).

Hasnain

No, with RTX HDR leave it at 50

P40L0

When I use rtxhdr I must increse brightness too?

nERv

Thanks I will give it a try

Laurens

Then it's something wrong with the monitor settings as native HDR should look better than RTX HDR. Try the new settings for Dragon Ball and then try using HGIG on the monitor

P40L0

I mean it uses it but it’s not an oled so if I tie. On hdr in game the game gets to dark 😅

Laurens

This is impossible as for using RTX HDR the display must support HDR?

P40L0

And what if monitor does not soppurt hdr natively because I only use rtx hdr should I have 100 for sdr setting too ?

Laurens

Yes, after playing a little bit more it’s better to leave BL to default value. I think it’s even brighter the image rather than using DTM.

Gianluca

Yes

P40L0

And for pc with monitor is it the same ?

Laurens

Having played it a bit more I agree with the first suggestion, so I've updated the post. Black level is perfect as is tho

P40L0

Still 100

P40L0

So what brightness if we wanna just use hgig?

Mark Barry

I noticed that using HGIG over DTM produces a better image quality without washed out colors. Also raising Black Level to 55 can help a bit
