This song and episode hit me so hard. I didn't see it coming but from the beginning of this song I saw it building up. It hits home with me. My daughters father took his own life. No one warned me about this episode I was little sobbing and screaming no through the whole thing.

I agree - Darren sung live actually a few times on the show and I understand why they would want this to be polished, but I think it definitely could have been less so. You should check out his character singing “Against All Odds” It’s live and I think packs a perfect punch. In terms of the way he’s performing in this one, I think that’s a character thing, more than it is a choice for this one particular song.

Yes I agree Darren should have been allowed to do this one live. There should have been more grit and punch to it, and even then I felt like Blaine was projecting a fair amount of angst in this scene that never really gets addressed. This scene packs it’s own punch though. We probably should have wanted you, but we’ll there you go. I will say a small spoiler - this is not the end for that character, so don’t fret too much.

You know the character! He’s the main bully from the football team. In the last episode you watched (S2E2) he was one of the guys who tore Finn’s varsity jacket and tried to beat him up

The song 'this time' (Rachels last song) was written for her by Darren Criss and is such a good number :)) And Karofsky you have seen but will become more of an important character very soon :)

Love this cover, the original is by the band, Young the giant. They are indie rock, and Blaine did that song justice! That guy was a bully of the Glee club, and he picked on Kurt a lot...and then kissed him out of no where. 🤷‍♀️ You should review the original bands version, its really great song. He was also the bully with Azimio in Theatricality with Kurt and Tina, along with Finn. As well as in Mattress season 1 where they wrote on Finn's face in the locker room. And he was the one that slushied Finn earlier in that season in Mash off due to Quinn's pregnancy. You have seen him he just wasn't in a lot of the episodes so it's easy to forget, but again you'll see more this season of him.

I always loved this song, this was season 3. Dave Karofsky has more scenes in season 2 as well. You will learn more about him in a few more episodes. Think he makes story line arc in duets.

This character was in S1. When they did the theatricality episode. Also, yes, I wish they'd let Darren sing this live, it would have been so much more connected to the scene and I wish they'd done more with Kurt than having him sit on a stool and listen. It's such an emotional scene and I feel like they tried to make it too shiny
