2022-06-16 06:11:23 +0000 UTCi love this episode so much! bc i love how crazy the plots are, bc the performances are so good, and bc i discovered Brittany and her incredible talent! since that episode she's one of my fav character of the whole show! she doesn't have the best voice out of the cast, or the best storylines, but i'm always watching her in performances, wether it's a solo or group number, my eyes are always on her, she shines so much!! slave and me against the music are some of the best performances of the entire show for real!! as for Lea singing Britney, i actually liked it! i'm not the biggest Britney fan, i love her song, of course, but i loved hearing someone with better vocals singing her songs, and to me Lea can sing anything and i will find it amazing! just like Naya or Amber tbh

While Rachel was always my favorite character, Britney just isn’t for her. Lea’s cover of Only Exception was my favorite with Naya and Heather’s Me Against the music a close second. Toxic was just as cringe worthy now as it was then 🤣 Oh Mr. Shue, it’s just the first in a string of terrible missteps unfortunately. Excited for the next one!

2022-02-25 17:59:23 +0000 UTCThis is one of my top favorite episodes! Fellow 2001 grad so I loved all the Britney! Heather was just fantastic in this episode. She said she learned the dances in only one day and her voice is so well suited for Britney unlike Lea’s. I also thought it was hilarious that Santana didn’t know why their fantasies combined. I was like, that’s because you two are soulmates, honey. I love the vocals on Toxic but, oh, so inappropriate for Mr. Shue to perform with them so I much prefer season 5 Toxic with the Unholy Trinity.

Grilled Cheesus is next, one song I suggested you review is done in this one, the situation is really weird but the song was done really well. :) I was well before Britney Spears or all of them. Graduated in 96 so I had hair bands and soft rock like our version of all that with New Kids and Debbie Gibson and Tiffany. Then alternative grunge like Nirvana and Pearl Jam. But I did love this show, can introduce an old-timer like me into this century's music LOL. Enjoy the next one. See you there.

Absolutely love that we first get to hear Heather Morris (Brittany) sing in this episode. Love Brittany's first solo ("I'm A Slave 4 U") as well as the first of the few Brittany and Santana duets ("Me Against The Music"). Also such a treat to have Britney Spears guest star this episode. I like the vocals of the "Toxic" cover this episode but hate the performance ("Toxic" is covered again in Season 5 Episode 12 but it is a performance with Quinn, Santana, and Brittany I always preferred that cover of "Toxic" more than this episode's version of "Toxic") Would love for you do a separate reaction for a "Gleeful Weekend" reaction for "Me Against The Music" like you said you might do in the reaction for this episode. "Me Against The Music" is one of the few Brittany and Santana duets. There are other times where Santana sings to Brittany, times where one of them would be one of the Glee Club members providing background vocals while the other sang lead (notably Santana singing lead while Brittany was one of the Glee Club members who sang background vocals for her), and times where they both sang in the same group performances but the had few duets. Brittany and Santana's duets are: - "Me Against The Music" in Season 2 Episode 2 - "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)" in Season 3 Episode 17 - "Valerie" in Season 5 Episode 12 - "Hand In My Pocket/I Feel The Earth Move" in Season 6 Episode 3 (Which you already reacted to)
