Dead Island 2 - HDR Optimized Settings
Added 2023-04-21 17:00:56 +0000 UTC
The game is NOT using/applying Xbox/Playstation HDR Calibration app settings.
The game has a good HDR implementation providing different in-game HDR controls including "White Point" or Peak HDR Luminance which can go up to 2.000 nits, but those values does not represent accurately what is seen in-game.

If you have an LG OLED and:
> you're using Dynamic Tone Mapping or Dynamic Contrast:
- Set "WHITE POINT" slider to: 2.000 (nits; Max)
- Set "BLACK POINT" slider to: 0
> you're using HGIG:
- Set "WHITE POINT" slider to: 950 (which will be close to 800 nits in-game) or 1.150 (for G2) or 1.700 (for G3)
- Set "BLACK POINT" slider to: 0
If you don't have an LG OLED and:
> you don't have an HGIG option:
- Set "WHITE POINT" slider to: 1.150 (nits)
- Set "BLACK POINT" slider to: 0
> you're using HGIG:
- Set "WHITE POINT" slider to the corresponding real Peak HDR Luminance of your TV in "nits" + add around 150 more
- Set "BLACK POINT" slider to: 0
In all cases leave "BRIGHTNESS" to its Default value of 25, UI BRIGHTNESS at 0 as those already represent a balanced exposure for both the game and interface.
