The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me - HDR Optimized Settings
Added 2022-12-18 14:04:28 +0000 UTC
The game is NOT using/applying Xbox/Playstation HDR Calibration app settings.
The game has a very good HDR implementation providing an actual Peak HDR Luminance control in nits value up to 2.000 nits and an impressive HDR contrast between pitch dark environments and super bright sources.

If you have an LG OLED and:
> you're using Dynamic Tone Mapping or Dynamic Contrast:
Set HDR MAX LUMINANCE slider to: 2.000 (nits; Max)
> you're using HGIG:
Set HDR MAX LUMINANCE slider to: 800 (nits) or 1.000 (for G2/C4) or 1.500 (for G3/C5)
If you don't have an LG OLED and:
> you don't have an HGIG option:
Set HDR MAX LUMINANCE slider to: 1.000 (nits)
> you're using HGIG:
Set HDR MAX LUMINANCE slider to the corresponding real Peak HDR Luminance of your TV in "nits"
Comments
Unlike previous titles this has excellent HDR and perfect blacks, but must use DTM on. They also fixed their previously broken brightness test pattern

2025-07-09 07:33:53 +0000 UTC4.000 is only for LGs when using DTM: On or Off (but not HGIG)

2025-07-09 07:33:21 +0000 UTCHmmm, it seems PS5 version has a peak brightness limit slider that only goes up to 2000 nits like the past titles in this series, not 4000

2025-07-09 05:26:21 +0000 UTCFor now LG tvs you said to use 1000 nits. I'm assuming you meant DTM, if so, why not just go 4000? Misprint?

2025-07-09 03:34:51 +0000 UTCIt seems that the game got updated since D1 and now Peak HDR Luminance went up to 4.000 nits. In this case, yes, go for 4.000 nits if you're using Dynamic Tone Mapping or Dynamic Contrast. ;)

2022-12-30 09:01:58 +0000 UTCI notice the game goes up to 4000 nits is it better to use that if the logo disappears after 4000?
