Sailor Moon (ep. 37)

"Aim to be a princess? Usagi's weird training"

Princess school! I really like the design of the monster this week, and there's some cool animation there. Usagi is cute and fun, but this isn't a favourite episode

Sailor Moon (ep. 36)

"Usagi is confused! Is Tuxedo Mask evil?"

Usagi is so cute in her different hairstyles! Peak early 90s fashion. We also get to see Sailor Venus' transformation for the first time in this episode. It's cute

Everybody seems to have forgotten Rei actually dated Mamoru and he never officially broke up with her, he just remembered he was in love with Usagi. Rough.

Sailor Moon (ep. 35)

This episode feels very diffent, structurally. It's almost like a mini finale? I have no other thoughts about it. Zoisite dies

I don't like some of the drawings I did for this one, especially on the first page. I might end up redrawing them when/if I make this into a zine

Sailor Moon (ep. 34)

"The sparkling Silver Crystal. The Moon Princess appears"

This episode!! Mamoru and Usagi finally discover each others identities! The tension builds and they both get their "wtf" moments of realisation, and then Mamoru seems to get killed. It's so intense!

"The last sailor warrior, Sailor Venus, appears"

I know there's more than 10 episodes left, but it feels like we're getting close to the end now!

F&C ep. 3 storyboard

Some storyboard panels/sketches from Cake the Cat (episode 3) of Fionna and Cake

Most of the panels with Simon and Choose Goose were originally thumbnailed by Anna Syvertsson and I've just tidied them up a little and added poses. I can't remember if we swapped beats, or just realized her section was a lot longer than mine so I took over some of her board halfway through.

Last summer I made these Fimo clay Koroks, and intended to hide them in the park for kids to pick up, but I never did. Maybe I'll hide them this summer?

Sailor Moon (ep. 32)

"Umino's resolve: I'll protect Naru!"

Tuxedo Umino Mask is funny, especially throwing fried shrimps at the monster!

I think this is pretty much the last we see of Naru this season? She might turn up again. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

There's the first version of the Scarab that I drew for the pitch deck, and a human Treetrunks, some Fionna practice drawings, etc. It's all really messy and ugly, but hopefully still fun to see!

One of the funniest episodes of season 1, and perhaps the only episode I really enjoy Zoisite in

I had watched Gone with the Wind as a kid and got the final shot reference, but I can't imagine that being the norm (?) It's such weird choice! whhy is this cat Rhett Butler 😂

This is a small update. I didn't find a lot in this episode, even though I think it's kind of sweet? It's cool that they spend an episode adressing Naru's heartbreak.

This was actually how I found out Nephrite was dead the first time I watched SM as a kid (!) I missed episode 24 when it aired and I was devastated, lol. 

Sailor Moon (ep. 25)

"Jupiter, the bawny girl in love"

Sailor Jupiter! I like the slight sukeban vibes she's got in her introductory scene, and that her eyes are drawn differently compared to the other sailor senshis, but that stuff doesn't actaully last. too bad.

I'm starting to look forward to editing these pages, but I still have a lot to draw! 

Next Sailor Moon post will have drawings from new episodes! Picking up again with ep 25 and Jupiters arrival. I've got some very fun ones ahead of me. I'm excited to draw them!
