Elden Ring - HDR Optimized Settings
Added 2022-03-17 09:52:13 +0000 UTC
The game is NOT using/applying Xbox/Playstation HDR Calibration app settings.
The game has an average HDR implementation as mostly it won't exceed 100 nits except rare occasions or light sources that can go up 1.200 nits.
For this reason it is suggested to use Dynamic Tone Mapping in order to increase luminance a bit.
There are still HDR controls similar to Sekiro:

Go to "Adjust Image Quality" from the HDR settings;

If you have an LG OLED and:
> you're using Dynamic Tone Mapping or Dynamic Contrast:
- Set Maximum Brightness slider to: 2.000 (nits; Max);
> you're using HGIG:
- Set Maximum Brightness slider to: 800 (nits) or 1.000 (for G2) or 1.500 (for G3).
If you don't have an LG OLED and:
> you don't have an HGIG option:
- Set Maximum Brightness slider to: 1.000 (nits);
> you're using HGIG:
- Set Maximum Brightness slider to the corresponding real Peak HDR Luminance of your TV in "nits".
In all cases leave the "Adjust Brightness" and "Saturation Adjustment" sliders to: 5/Middle (Default) as those already corresponds to a balanced/correct exposure, gamma and color saturation.
Comments
No, always stay in FMM with 2023+ OLEDs to leverage the new dynamic color boosting tech

2024-03-31 12:30:01 +0000 UTCFMM + HGIG on G3 should be good but the game tends to be dim, so if it's not enough switch to DTM
