His mother. Alice, is righteous among the nations for her bravery in taking people In during the Holocaust. She was subjected to the idiotic “treatments” of Freud and despite being deaf, could lip read in three languages. Her mother insisted that no one make special allowances so she could learn this-and she did. She did what she wanted, and what was right. Her aunt was martyred by the communists in 1918 (Elisabeth) and she took after her charitable example. Philip got every ounce of grit from that woman. I think certain persons could of postponed certain actions until they knew if Philip was going to pull through or not, just my opinion. On a good note , what an amazing life he lived.
