PART 3 Starbase tour with Elon Musk!

HERE'S PART 3 EVERYONE!!! PLEASE do not leak this link to anyone or post about anything talked about in this conversation until the video goes live in about 11 hours! It really means a lot! Thank you all, enjoy!!!!

PART 3 Starbase tour with Elon Musk!

Comments

I find it great that employees approached him and gave him hugs! It's great!

Thinking about an inter-planetary civilization, that's what Elon wants us to do. What we can learn from that may also be useful for right where we are now, the way things are going with our current planet. Looks like how our civilization is changing will accelerate even more. What does a job of the (near) future look like?!

Awesome work! This is huge for the history books (/videos)

Same as David, your interactions and the info and insights gained are a marvel, way above conventional media. Big ups! Happy to support you guys.

Tim, I can’t overstate what an incredible job you’ve done, from the expertise you’ve developed to be able to discuss these topics intelligently with Elon himself to your obvious skill in handling Elon interpersonally. Proud to support your efforts!

David Kailer

Ah, good thought. Yeah Elon was sort of trying to talk to the back seat guess.

I couldn't help but notice that this whole interview is shot with Tim's cellphone but he has a steadycam operator with him filming. Whats going to happen with the rest of the footage? Anything exciting?

Real cool vid's, thanks for this series.

I'm pretty sure that wasn't Tim's car. Probably a company vehicle being driven by one of Elon's handlers. I believe Tim is the one in the back filming since this whole thing seems to be shot with his phone.

Thank you for taking us with you on this tour. The first two parts were already great, and I didn't expect this last one to be that wild ! Really impressive to be inside the beehive for a moment. Thanks again !

Great work Tim! this is a well-deserved payoff for your months (years!) of building a relationship with Elon. To think that you are driving the second-richest man in the world around in your car with virtually no security around (I'm sure he had a posse with him in another car) was pretty amazing. Incredible access. Job well done!

The things rolling around in that guy's head. Most of us don't have real time computation rattling around in our grey matter. THAT dude definitely does. Great job Tim and teams. What a future this has become.

Tim; Sierra Hotel, keep em coming...

This is amazing Tim! What an interview. I don't think there has ever been one like it. I'm sure Elon must have been fried at the end of the day. Sounds like next time he will come with even more energy given his tweet. Maybe try him in the morning if it is as all possible to schedule which is doubtful. Amazing job. What energy on site!

I only have one thing to say about the experience you just had: Holy what the heck!!??

Once again Tim, just a wonderful video. It is inspiring watching a creative mind ingest information in order to make informed decisions. You are Da Man!

Bill Colbert

Great series Tim. This last one had a whole different feel to it. It so makes me want to help Elon. I wish I knew a way for a regular person to help.

Bob and Michelle Murray

Wow Great Job Tim. Hopefully, you can get that follow-up in a few months. The number of things that will change between now and then will be incredible. Go SpaceX.

Thanks Tim. It was great, if a little on the short side compared to first two parts. I was hoping you'd ask a little more about the tower & its arms, but at least Elon has now confirmed that the yellow one is in fact the QD arm.

Amazing Tim! The scale...the scale!!! My word. I just love the energy and exhaustion. The whole figuring it out on the fly is nuts.

Brian MacDonald

Short attention span perhaps? Sometimes instant gratification isn't the way to go... The first two segments were superb. Shorter segments would not for instance have allowed us a glimpse into the way in real time, that Elon reflects upon things and engages with them.

In part 1 we show the little tiny T-Rex arm between the grid fins that it’ll land on and it zooms into it! 👍

Everyday Astronaut

Tim, Fantastic work. In Part 2, Elon said won’t catch with grid fins, but something else. Do you know what else.

Great video - always impressed to see such large scale operations :)

I appreciate all the hard work and your dedication to getting interviews with key people in the space industry. Thank you for doing that.

The comment section under those videos is a gold mine, but sadly part one and two are just too long, to find comments to some aspect you and Elon are discussing. Can't you upload those videos in ... dunno... ten to 20 minutes length? Or even shorter?

Thanks for sharing this Tim.

I’m going to be honest. I’ve gotten lots of hand shakes and pats on the back at a construction site, never a hug! That was crazy!

Dan Whiffen

Thanks to you, Tim, Cosmic Perspective, the entire Everyday Astronaut Team, SpaceX and, last but not least, Elon for this series of insight videos. I wish SpaceX would give you a let's say weekly update briefing on what's happening at Starbase. I guess, me and all other SpaceX fans would appreciate and soak up these progress infos. Anyway, great informative videos! Cheers

incredible.... he also has the ability to attract and inspire the right people....

Thanks Tim!

Thanks Tim and team! I enjoyed watching this series of videos and Tim, I think you found a good balance between listening, asking questions and sharing your thoughts. Well done!

Considering the only thing above him for 90% of the video was open sky I'm not sure how many things were likely to fall on his head.

I think that's exactly what he said in the video. The new guys come on and they aren't set up correctly.

Great video Tim thanks to you and all your crew for bringing this to us.

Interesting how Patel tells Elon that he should move the contractors onto SpaceX full-time employees. Maybe he's getting a bit tired of training up peole and then they go away. Staffing must be a nightmare on this project. Tomorrow I need 100 welders. for 2 days work. Right...

Gerard Hammond

Epic

Reed Bowman

Amazing but I don't think the Stage-Zero build staff should be included. That's a door we should NOT be opening. It exposes them up to online pressure and hearing details about the launch table that will be misunderstood. Also, Dear God, please someone get Elon to wear a helmet on site! We need him!

Sam Patel seems like he was having so much fun

Gerard Hammond

He looked out of it at the start of this video. Very Tired.

Gerard Hammond

Wow this amazing! Great to see Elon interacting with his crew. Thanks Tim!

Thanks Tim. Fantastic work. A few observations: I knew Elon was focused on Mars, but these videos have shown even more clearly how focused he is on that goal, in everything he does. Truly inspiring. His lead folks are so young! Also, truly inspiring. Elon seems to actually appreciate the hard work and dedication of the folks working with him. Unfortunately, that's all too often lacking in leaders at his level.

I think they understand the pressure he puts on himself, and how urgent this is for him. They care about him, and share his vision.

That was maybe the most thrilling 20 minute video I have seen. The data dump by the supervisors and the urgency to get to Space. Crazy stuff.

Lots of inside discussion with Elon getting a site update in-person from Patel was very cool. Very cool you got to see that!

This series of videos are awesome. Especially loved just getting to experience the work discussion on the scaffolding. Wonderful insight throughout. Way to go Tim and team!

Great to see how excited and energetic the crew was knowing (guessing) they have also been working incredible hours. You know this kind of progress would not be possible if they all didn't believe in the vision and had that same level of passion. Only 8 days until the asteroid hits....Dont hear that kind of motivation in the morning at most jobs!

Excellent - your conversation with Elon Musk is fascinating. The tour of Starbase is priceless - thank you!!!

Great series of videos - well done :)

Tim - OUTSTANDING!! Mega-thanks

Which CEO gets a hug during a worksite visit? Unsurprisingly, Elon is a rockstar among his employees.

Awesome, can’t wait to watch. Finally signed up as a Patreon supporter, keep up the good work!

Fantastic video. Can't believe how transparent Elon was on the interview. So so so good.

That was a super cool series Tim, thanks for all the hard work. My children are growing up watching all this so major kudos that their go to drawing is rockets! Elon was definitely tired eh! But still so cool to see him interacting with not just us, but also with his crew. Sam was excited!!

Great content to end the series with, love it! Had the impression Elon was not as focussed, maybe lack of sleep or so. But the whole series is amazing content, I loved the discussions you two had and seeing the site up close. Thanks a lot for the great work!

Great job Tim!

Damn. So happy for you Tim, that's such a dream to get that level of access. Thanks for sharing it!

Awesome interview Tim! No more speculating about what the yellow pipe structure is 😁

Tim, you are the best of the best of the best 😎

Amazing just joined in the hopes that maybe it was here so awesome going to stick around for a while

Tim you beauty…

Finally thank you Tim.

Woohoo!
