Hey guys, hope you’re all doing well, it's been a while. We’re on the verge of a new month, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to discuss a few changes I’ll be testing with my work, my store, and Patreon.
The Short:
I’ll be releasing smaller & cheaper Packs more often, with samples shared frequently on Patreon.
The Long:
Instead of releasing a £5 GBP pack every 2 or so weeks with artworks, variants, and a comic (I don’t like calling them comics anymore really, but I struggle to think of an alternative), I’d like to test releasing smaller packs starting around £2 GBP, containing an artwork or two plus variants, sometimes comic-like variants with dialogue, captions, etc.
The plan is to release these smaller packs more frequently, hopefully two or three per week, with a good rotation of characters so you hopefully will never be waiting long to see your fave girl.
For the last while I’ve been letting the Patreon page run almost purely as a support avenue, a means of helping cover the up-front costs involved with the creation of my work, and refrained from sharing any of my artwork, comics, etc here, instead directing you guys over to my store with a discount code. I come to accept this doesn’t seem to meet the majority of patrons’ expectations, since it's not really in line with the approach taken by other artists / creators, who instead use the platform almost like a sort of art pre-order system, or something else entirely. I see it every week: New pledges, new patrons show me their support, only to cancel / delete their pledge when they realise they don’t immediately receive anything in return.
So I’m going to test something different by sharing samples from new Packs I’ve created. Even without purchasing anything from my store you will see an assortment of new artworks here on Patreon throughout May. To keep your notifications to a minimum I won’t be announcing the release of new Packs here on Patreon anymore. Instead I’ll just share artworks from the Packs, and maybe sneak a link to my store into the description. Additionally, due to the lower price of these new Packs I won’t be supplying discount codes in future.
This may or may not work in the long run, again, I’m just testing it for now. Any time I feel like I’m not enjoying a certain aspect of the process anymore I do what I can to change it up, hopefully this is an enjoyable change for you guys too. Let me know if you have any thoughts on this in the comments below.
Thanks,
Mono
