2023-04-02 17:14:55 +0000 UTCI'd use "erection". It is more formal and medically accurate. "Boner" while prehaps the most common slang for an erection is still slang and prehaps not fancy enough for the likes of Edgar and Vera. I could be wrong but they seem like very upstanding youths.
