I will concede it makes for a wonderful fictitious plot device, and can be easily written off as an earlier time setting. He was a valuable stepping stone in the field, but we have learned much since his days

This is supposed to be THE single most prestigious school in the country right? The cream of the crop, the best of the best. And yet here's a problem student with fantastic grades who has drawn attention to herself, breaks the spirit of the school rules while obeying their letter, has stirred the pot when it comes to student gossip and social stature, and is openly sexual to boot. She's a walking liability to the school in her current state, and her actions ripple to the other students and faculty. If she's not brought into a state of greater outward maturity she could single-handedly damage the reputation of the school.

I can see why heβs the counselor if heβs this good at reading people, or perhaps heβs just good at reading Olivia. So we know what his intentions are with her (or at least, what he says they are). Now Iβm interested to see why he wants to help Olivia move to the reality principle, and what he gets out of that, assuming heβs trying to get anything out of it at all. There is the off chance that there is a bit of altruism in his intentions, but I guess Iβll have to wait and see. Itβs still pretty early in this development and the possible outcomes havenβt narrowed down enough for me to confidently say where I think this will go.
