PC update:
Added 2020-04-01 06:08:30 +0000 UTCTL;DR: I need the rest of the upgrades for my computer pretty badly. Not an emergency, just would solve some irritation.
Still nothing really WRONG with it, but I'm most definitely bottlenecking badly with the old, janky CPU I'm running.
(If it wasn't clear, "bottlenecking" is when one part of the computer is slower than the rest, causing the whole thing to run slower than it should.)
The biggest problem is UI lag; every time I do anything too complicated in blender, or I move a character with the subdivision modifier turned on, everything suddenly chugs, badly. I might bandaid-fix it for now by overclocking my CPU, but I don't trust my CPU fan too much right now, as it's around 7 years old or so, and I haven't gotten around to spending the $2 to fix it, heh.
I probably *could* pay for the upgrades right now, but with the COVID-19 stuff going on, I don't really feel like leaving my bank account too empty.
TOTALLY UNRELATED, but I feel kinda funny, kinda warm, some minor coughing. Probably just paranoid with the virus going around, but I'm staying inside as much as I can anyway, just to be safe.
(Also, ha, I made sure to post this BEFORE midnight prior to April 1.)
