Loved hearing all your deep dive plans for the year! Rainie, my husband is a history teacher and does civil war reenacting as a hobby, if you’re looking for a book he recommends Battle cry of freedom by James McPherson (comprehensive look at the whole war), anything by Eric Foner (good for reconstruction and the influence of race on the war), and How the Word is Passed by Clint Smith (more about how the war is remembered and taught). And then for learning about geographical strategy the American Battlefield Trust online has some good resources that break it down by battle. And there’s a good live reenactment in Huntington Beach put on by the historical society at the end of August if you want to see something in person.

Cailyn if you want to read more about women in Greek mythology, you should try some books by Natalie Haynes! I recently read and loved A Thousand Ships which is a retelling of events from the Trojan War (Iliad and Odyssey) from the women's perspective. She's also written books about Medusa, Pandora, and some of the Greek goddesses.
