merry christmas! here's the latest short film I did, written and directed by Naomi Christie! We shot this earlier this year during the fires in LA, and I'm so excited to share iwth you!

To be totally honest I do NOT like how these came out at all! Auden really wanted to make these work, and to her credit, they are probably completely fine. But something about them just doesn't quite mesh right with me. We tried natural lighting (back half contact sheets) and also some blue lights (front half unedited, raw images and some contact sheet examples), but I just don't think the concept was working quite well.

We tried to recreate a magazine cover Angelina Jolie did back in the 90s, but oh my god the posing she did on that couch was so difficult as someone with the shortest limbs of all time. These are raw, low-res, unedited photos from the contact sheet. We set up a fan to get some hair action, but ultimately Angelina has much longer limbs than I do and was able to pull it off more gracefully. (I wish I had the photo so you could compare it, but Auden randomly found it on Pinterest and upon search...

I was inspired by Sabrina Carpenter's latest black and white photoshoot where she's pretzel-ing herself around on a backdrop - but let me tell you, the results are SO AWKWARD that I am NOT posting them ANYWHERE hahahhaa. Similar to our tinfoil adventure, Nicholas had some bubble wrap on hand that we thought "fuck it" and threw it on. These came out sliiiightly better than we hoped, but not as good as the tinfoil in my opinion. But that's art I guess; trying random shit and seeing what sticks (or pops. I'm sorry).
