UPDATES! Merch, Tiers, and more!

Dearest Tryceratops,

We have a few announcements. Some things are going to be changing this month, and we want you to know about it first!

1. MERCH: An Apology

We know that this year merch was not great. We got behind, had trouble communicating with issues as they came, etc. Long story short we did a bad job! It was our first year making merch on our own and it showed. We’re really sorry for our shortcomings.

BUT on April 24th we tried to remedy that by emailing everyone at the Sapphire tier and up gift cards to our tryguys.com store so that you could get whatever you wanted. It certainly loses the personal touch we hoped to have, but helps solve some other problems.

Those who had completed 3 months got $25, 6 months got $50, and 9 months (or 3-6 months at higher tiers) got $75 gift cards (many tryceratops received hats or some other small rewards along the way, so we are compensating for months that you pledged and didn't receive anything).  It wasn't what we promised, but it was the best solution we were able to make, and if you feel you deserve more we totally understand and I hope you will message us with some ideas of how to make it right.

I hope someday we can figure out a better solution for Patreon-Exclusive merch and signed merch, but in all honesty it was something that was logistically tougher to execute than we had hoped.

Thanks for your understanding, now let's move on to some exciting stuff.

2. TIERS ARE CHANGING

Because of missteps like our merch execution, we're revamping our rewards tiers to be closer to what we can deliver regularly. We're a production company, so we think the best thing we can do is give you more and better content! Later today another post will go up with the new tier rewards (which will change over the weekend) that will show you how we are scaling back in some areas of rewards and adding new amazing things in their place.

While no tier is increasing in price one WILL change to be less expensive! As always, we'd love your feedback on the tiers and rewards that we are thinking of when that post goes live.

3. MORE CONTENT

Since you were such a great part of our podcast test (which now is out in the world and growing it its own) we wanted to create a new audio project just for you!

We'll be launching the Try Guys Post Thoughts Podcast later this month, which will start with 1-2 episodes a month. We'll be talking about how videos go from idea to generation, behind the scenes stuff, things that didn’t make the cut, and even how we feel they did after they went online. A true look into our creative process.

4. SPECIAL OPPORTUNITIES AT THE LIVE SHOW

As you all know, we're going on tour! We’re excited to meet a lot of you in the VIP tier, but we also want to be able to recognize who in our audience is a Tryceratops!  So we're working on some things we can communicate to you for each show that will help you to stand out to us so that if you volunteer for some audience participation, we can include you as a part of the show (we won't grab people who don't want to be a part of the show).

That's it for now but we'll have a lot of new things happening in the next weeks, and as such, I (Keith) will try to spend some of my time dedicated to answering questions in Discord and Patreon.

5. THANKS

It's blown our minds that we have over 5,500 people who believe in Try Guys and what we do so much that they want to directly contribute to what we’re making. None of us thought we’d be here today making such cool, informative, uplifting, funny, bizarre, and loving content, but YOU make it possible. Our first year was incredibly daunting, but Patreon has always been there keeping us going. Our first paycheck as a company came from YOU. Our first conversations about videos come from YOU. Our podcast was shaped by YOU. Our new series are informed by YOU! You really are our core fanbase, and we want to extend our unending gratitude.
