TryPod: Episode 17: Zach & Eugene's Film Theory
Added 2019-03-29 18:46:40 +0000 UTCKeith and Ned are away on vacation, so Zach, Eugene, and Miles buckle in to talk movies, film, cinema, and dogs. Zach and Eugene give their desert island movies... kinda, and discuss their favorite movie moments from all time.

I LOVED this conversation about film. Please do another one. Where do you talk about "Us"?

2019-04-10 19:22:35 +0000 UTCI also saw only the first part of sound of music when I was younger, since my mom also had the movie on two tapes 😂 so I never saw the part with the nazist before I got older too xD

2019-04-06 14:39:21 +0000 UTCI've listened to this and the bonus TryPod twice now! I really enjoyed the film discussion and banter! I'm not a film or movie buff so everything you guys talked about was fascinating to me 😁

2019-04-04 17:00:49 +0000 UTCNot gonna lie, hearing you guys geek out about movies and animation gives me a whole new level of respect and sense of connection for you guys. #mediahound #mindsaresexy

2019-04-04 01:33:43 +0000 UTCDon't forget the Lord of the Rings movies, each of which clocks in near or over three hours just for the theatrical editions!
Jessica Grady
2019-04-04 01:13:36 +0000 UTCI could listen to Zack and Eugene talk about movies for hours.

2019-03-30 15:02:17 +0000 UTCI would totally listen to a 10 hour podcast of Zach and Eugene discussing film and film theory. Movies are amazing and going to the theater is one of my favorite things to do.

2019-03-30 11:17:32 +0000 UTCThis was so insightful and fascinating to listen to! Really enjoyed this one, Zach and Eugene!!

2019-03-30 04:17:02 +0000 UTCI am so happy that Eugene and Zach said that there is value in a cinematic expereince. Like for them as a Digital media creators to say that is almost important. One of the reasons why I love the Try Guys is that they aren't trying to treat Digital media as this like war with Hollywood but are approaching it in being additional to it. Like I'm so excited to see if a film is ever released on youtube and can compete for an Oscar but I'm also like..so excited to see a 70 MM print/Imax film. Like it doesn't have to be this one side or the other. Both film watching experiences exist for different style pieces and you can say and still acknowledge the inequitable nature of going to a film and how expensive it is. I really am proud of you guys for expressing that and I really hope you can state it on a larger platform. This is what makes this channel so special.

2019-03-30 02:55:52 +0000 UTCThis was sooo fantastic. It was great getting to hear a focused podcast from two Guys with very similar passions. Different kind of thing! I love the ones with all Try Guys too but this was neat. Wouldn't mind more like this in the future!

2019-03-30 02:17:53 +0000 UTCMy Parents took me to the Circus when I was a kid because I loved Elephants and she thought if I saw how big they are that I'd be terrified. I tried to run in with them. Lol. Parents have weird ways to accidentally feed love and passions.

2019-03-30 01:52:30 +0000 UTCI love this episode so much. Can you guys talk about movies all the time, please? Like, I'd legit listen to the ten hour episode Zach joked about, no lies. Not to be a creeper, but I wish I could join the conversation because I have so much to say. XD
Melissa Shaw
2019-03-30 01:47:26 +0000 UTCThis was an absolutely fascinating conversation. I would love to listen a part two of this.
Hmm
2019-03-30 01:40:21 +0000 UTCYou guuuuuuuuuuuuys!!!! Yes! I would listen to Zach and Eugene talk about movies forever! Jurassic Park, Wall-E, Sleeping Beauty...I agree with EVERYTHING you guys said. Just outstanding. We just love all the same things! 😍

2019-03-30 01:38:15 +0000 UTCI love listening to these!! Thanks so much - totally worth the $$! (Even with the Canadian exchange 🤦♀️😂)

2019-03-30 00:44:18 +0000 UTCI'm down for the tri TryPods. Everyone gets a better chance to contribute. Would this possibly mean TryPods more often?🤔

2019-03-30 00:15:15 +0000 UTCThe dog/cat war is so true. I have (and adore) cats but I also think dogs are wonderful! It’s just that dog people refuse to love cats
Amelia Catalano
2019-03-29 23:52:55 +0000 UTCI like that this episode is not as chaotic as previous episodes. I think they should do a rotation schedule where only 2-3 of them are in the podcast. That way 1 of them can also get a little bit of break.
Aienmoon
2019-03-29 23:23:50 +0000 UTCTo be honest I'm far more into books than movies, but I really enjoyed this! Loved all the stories and personal details, and had a lot to think about from movie analysis with you guys. :D

2019-03-29 22:51:10 +0000 UTCI really loved this episode! It was great to hear people talking about something they’re passionate about.

2019-03-29 22:11:26 +0000 UTCThat might have been my favourite trypod ever (Ditto to the comments before me about intimacy). I loved the insightful, very sensitive and yet analytical way you discussed your favourites, and the glimpses of you that we got along the way. (I love the films you chose, the animated ones in particular, and would like to add "House of Sand and Fog" to my own list of films viewed for impact.)

2019-03-29 21:54:58 +0000 UTCLoved this episode! Great flow and their enthusiasm made the conversation interesting, even though I'm not really a film-nerd myself.

2019-03-29 21:31:09 +0000 UTCThis was so interesting to listen to! It’s nice to hear Eugene talk more than usual 😊

2019-03-29 21:13:21 +0000 UTCHi, have you tried sending a private message to the Try Guys?
Khristine (with a 'kh')
2019-03-29 21:12:42 +0000 UTCZach and Eugene are so in their element in this episode! It feels like a normal conversation with two cinema nerds, and I love it!

2019-03-29 21:11:31 +0000 UTCWhen will the sapphire+ Tryceratops get the first piece of swag? ( I don't want to spam but I need answers 😑)

2019-03-29 20:58:48 +0000 UTCAlso, yes, I have watched Eternal Sunshine so many times. Totally agree with bringing this movie in a deserted island.

2019-03-29 20:49:42 +0000 UTCOkay agree with Zack about training dogs, I have 2 German shepherds and we have to make sure our dogs a properly trained just because of their size and their breed so they co easily by taken from us if they step out of l. It drives made mad when I see small dogs that are not trained because the owners just think it doesn’t matter because of their size. Also I think most people that say they hate cats have either never had a cat or they are allergic to them
Heather McKirdy
2019-03-29 20:48:13 +0000 UTCI agree! I love their usual chaotic conversations, but it was so nice to hear Eugene speak possibly more than we've heard him before in previous podcasts.
Amanda Penaloza
2019-03-29 20:47:45 +0000 UTCI literally just put my fist in the air in triumph and mouthed "fuck yeah" quietly so my office mate wouldn't hear me when Zach mentioned when Harry Met Sally. It's my favorite movie of all time.
Dani Shangold
2019-03-29 20:39:59 +0000 UTCSo, I feel bad for saying this, but I really liked this slightly more intimate format. Possibly more than the normal. It’s a little less chaotic because they aren’t trying to squeeze all four of them into a talking point. And it’s a cool insight into their individual dynamics. But I’m really open to whatever permutations you TryPod in...

2019-03-29 20:36:17 +0000 UTCI had that problem with this one. Not usually, but this one was definitely stopping randomly for now reason

2019-03-29 20:33:13 +0000 UTCOMG I am hating that former roommate of Eugene. Thank you for taking Emma in. She's an angel.

2019-03-29 20:17:50 +0000 UTCI would love to be able to listen to these, but they stop every few minutes on my phone; I have to completely close the app and open it again to get it to work. Does anyone else have this issue?
Mal Burns
2019-03-29 19:49:40 +0000 UTCI completely agree with Zach. If you don't control your dog, you're an inconsiderate person.
