Whittling and Rewriting

This week, let's talk about changes that will come in the future. Particularly, changes to the story itself, as Chapter 4's development advances at a brisk pace.
The benefit of making an online-only episodic Visual Novel is that coming back to update the art, the writing or any other aspect of the work is significantly easier than in other less modular forms of media.
To Maxi, whittling out the old, outdated parts of the story —those scenes wrought together when they were a different person and the characters weren't exactly who they ended up being— is one of the most interesting parts of creating a long form project.
That's why, in the future, several scenes will be updated or added to make the story even stronger than before; from a rework of the meeting scene between Sep and Ader (concept art above), to the addition of branching scenes in early chapter 3, or moments that will offer better glimpses of the world around them overall... there's so much waiting to be added by the time chapter 4 is released!
But that's part of the fun—seeing the characters grow and develop beyond what they were a few years ago!
