The last of the guinea pigs -so to speak- for the upcoming experiment, a bright young mind on the periphery of great events, who knows she can help if she can only grow up fast enough.
That post about pelt colour has me thinking a lot about hair on anthros. I might have to figure out how to do one of those multi-part Twitter posts. Or maybe pester Arkay into letting me post a ridiculously niche Youtube video.
Another bit of character art that'll serve as a testbed in the future, a noblewoman who's seen proof that the system doesn't always give you what you deserve.
Early concept for an upcoming project, a soldier past his prime, starting to wonder if all that fighting was worth it. This guy's going to be part of a little experiment in style I have planned.
Been a little under the weather the last couple days, but woke up yesterday and it was suddenlyt Very Important that I figure out the answer to this question. I have my own leanings, but I'd be curious to know what y'all think.
The thick muscles in an otter's tail have a tendency to accumulate a lot of tension, but it's not an easy spot to reach on one's own. It's also not something that comes up a whole lot; lifting your tail and demanding attention gets you a lot of funny looks in polite society.
Still, if you happen to be beneath an otter's tail for unrelated reasons and find yourself with some time to kill, it's a very good way to earn brownie points.
Was going through some of the sketches from earlier this year and I saw I hadn't given Kylie the same treatment as Max! So I gave kylie's fashion experiments the colour pass she deserves!
Did better at sticking to the 45-minute time limit with this one. Starting to figure out about how long the painting phase takes, and how early to cut off the sketch phase.
"Thank you for the present, Rudderbutt, but I'm pretty sure this outfit it supposed to come with pants."
I once did some failed sketches for a couple of pics/stories where we learn a little more about husky and otter cultures through the medium of erotic dress-up. Had an idea for a better pose for one of them and wanted to jot it down! So, here's a genuine traditional husky sled-pulling harness, even though some of the other accessories seem to have gone missing...
This was supposed to be another 45-minute sketch, but something shiny flew past the window and I forgot to pause the timer while I was chasing it. Call it 45-ish? Maybe more like an hour?
Tried something a little different this time, still with the limited palette but with a hard 45 minute time limit. The result is a little simpler than the others, but the pressure taught me a lot and kept me on task.
Once upon a time, in a land a little too nearby for comfort, there lived a wizard who saw flesh as a gateway to greater power. In his search for dangerous lost knowlege, he seized control of a small town in a lonely corner of the world and bent its resources toward his experiments. The people became his servants, too terrified to resist his power lest they vanish into his lair and never emerge.
For decades the plundered wealth of the town funded the wizard...
Practicing limiting myself to a predefined colour palette, and using a brush that forced me to commit early to big blocks of colour. One of those things worked out better than the other.
Whatever Tally feels for her dragon partner, she knows it isn't love. Love is a thing from those little novels read by fancy ladies on the upper streets, to give them something to do between parties. Love is a thing from the cheap little plays put on in the public garden, to swindle coin from working people who want to believe in something better. Love isn't something that follows you home from a delivery and announces it's going to stay.
Still, it's hard to say it hasn't been...

No one wanted to say anything at the time, but when the Manchesters asked if they could bring their pool boy around, they were kind of ruining the theme of the whole evening. And really, the pool boy? Everyone knows they filled their pool in years ago. Still, Carlos is a lovely young man, and the Manchesters don't mind sharing.
Okay, not this one's a sketch. Need to keep these loose until I can figure out where in the larger picture they go. Come to think of it, shoul...
