Also, I'm finally watching it from an older perspective. I first started watching Charmed when it aired on TV and I was like, 10 years old. Grew up with my dad and 4 brothers, didn't have a mom or any sisters so this show was really my only exposure to female role models and I always looked to it for what my future as an adult woman should look like. Now, rewatching it with Darcie, I'm a 28 year old woman, the same age as Prue in season 2 which makes me 2 years older than Piper and 4-5 years older than Phoebe (this season). TOTALLY different perspective and it's honestly incredibly refreshing and cathartic. I think it's making me see some of the writing flaws in these early seasons, but also helping me understand other aspects of the young woman experience in the 90s, things I still strive for 30 years later. Close female bonds, sexual awakening, body positivity, personal and professional exploration and growth, dealing with loss. I'm so excited to experience this show again with fresh eyes (mine and Darcie's and all y'all Cornpops 🫶 Also, after with a fresh perspective (and more of a philosophical understanding of other shows such as BtVS airing around the same time, I can look at the three sisters in a new way: Phoebe, the heart, the courage, the risk-taker. Piper: the spirit, the lover, the emotional powerhouse. Prue: the mind, the logician, the tactician, the fighter. The three of them together, the Power of Three, forms a more complete, actualized and strong human experience. They need each other, just like us, the viewer, needs a bit of each of them inside us to fully appreciate the range of human experience. That's why it's so hard for me to ever pick a "favorite sister." I have been each of them at times in my life, and I have always wanted to be all of them at once. Because I am. (PS however, it does suck SO BAD that the original songs are not in the episodes. Like....this was clearly SUCH a musical series, as evidenced by every episode starting with a good 30 seconds of stock footage with music playing and the fact that the music playing is now b-list nonsense throws off the vibes and the emotional connection to like, every episode. I'm 100% on board for sending Darcie the DVDs if anyone can tell me how)

So... yeah. Just a lil weird writing if you ask me. I don't think I ever thought of it this way before because he does seem like such a fixture, like he's kinda always been here but on this rewatch (and after having gone through a whole "too soon to move in together" thing in my own personal life) makes me kinda wonder what the writers (and the characters) were thinking..... 🤷♀️

I absolutely love that outfit and share it often in a meme. Lol It's hands down my favorite in the whole show ever and there's quite some competition in all seasons for best dressed lol. You remember the hair analysis of buffy over the seasons? There's something similar for charmed and their clothing but that's something to watch way later on. I'll share with you when time ! And Bane was a cutie right ? Too bad he was a bad guy working for a demon. Barbas (the fear demon) is a classic. Remember Buffy's fear demon on the Halloween episodes? The teeny tiny guy haha so funny the contrast when they aired near each other. Watching them around the same time, shit got confusing cause some demons and lore would be the same or similar going off of pagan and Christian lore etc. I hope that made sense lol Anyways, on the first Friday 13th EP with him, i held back so hard from going "this isn't the last you've seen of him!" Haha. Dudes a menace but kinda a *mood*. Darryl, oh Darryl my dude. I just love him, he is a great addition this season so far and honestly I like him better as our cop buddy ..sorry Andy rip bud. Dan...meh. Cute, great hair, very 90s surfer dude but meh. I love the side characters sometimes, they are great. Marcy the witch practicioner was great. I loved her energy and enthusiasm. Them being born magical and without training, I'm sure causes them to not fully know some things or practice some things but it's a show...lol But absolutely certain herbs don't need to be near each other, same with magical items. Absolutely truth there. And why don't the sisters smoke cleanse more? Like you gotta cleanse and shield babe.
