I love and appreciate the nuance you've shown to this season (unlike most reactors), and I'm a bit sad that my favorite season of the Buffyverse has come to an end. Connor, Cordelia and Lilah deserved better. See you in season 5 of Angel! :D

2024-01-28 00:24:15 +0000 UTCWe found out about the W&H perpetuity clause in their contracts in season 2 when Angel took that elevator ride with a dead Holland Manners. As for this episode, I love it. Seeing you come to grips with the fact that the team was going to take the offer in real time as it went on was great. Your observation at the end for how it sets up season 5 to be something totally different is a good one. The gang has been so fractured and things have been so dark for the back half of season 3 and season 4 that this episode feels like a hard reset getting everyone back together and on the same side. Setting up this storyline where, can they change wolfram and hart from the inside the belly of the beast before it actually digests them, as they mentioned in this episode is a great setup to what I think is a great season 5. And about Connor, for as annoying as he is most of the time I can’t help but feel bad for the kid. Raised in a hell dimension, the kids had a rough life. It is satisfying to see him happy like that at the end. As for Cordellia, there is some real life behind the scenes stuff happening that you don’t need to get into, but she was pregnant in real life and giving birth around this time. That’s all you really need to know. Lastly, I’m sure I’m not the first person to tell you this, but don’t watch the opening credits of episode 1 of season 5. You can watch them after the episode ends but there are spoilers in there that you probably don’t want to know until the episode is over.
