I nearly got kicked out of a Christian-ran art camp when I was 10 for making a Buffy puppet with a banner of the lyrics the little girl was singing. ;) Some fun facts: - This episode was filmed on the same lot as the famous Wisteria Lane from Desperate Housewives. You can see the Gentlemen go to Susan's house. - The "lead" Gentleman (the tall one) is the same actor (Doug Jones) as Billy Butcherson from Hocus Pocus. <3

Honestly also probably one of the funniest episodes of the show for me alongside just being such a fun ride. Glad you enjoyed it so much that you immediately wanted to watch it again, even if you decided not to lest you be subjected to more creepy Gentlemen encounters

Also noice how the two "old fogies", Giles and Olivia, knew immediately upon seeing each other that words weren't what was needed and immediately just started sucking face

I love how you got into the spirit of the episode by getting really quiet for long stretches of the time during which everyone's voices had been stolen. The actress who plays Tara is named Amber Benson, but I'm not sure where you could know her from. She played a pretty memorable character on Supernatural, but judging by your reaction to the pilot of that show, *that's* probably not it haha

Yeah it's always awkward when a group gets advertised as something it's not, so you end up sitting there politely smiling at everyone, going, "Well, this is nice." :D

2022-05-31 17:27:30 +0000 UTCI've read that the reason Joss came up with this episode was that he was worried that he relied on banter and character dialog too much. It was a way to break out of his comfort zone and tell a story in a different way. I didn't think it was considered risky at the time, but the Wikipedia article says otherwise. Despite (or maybe because of) that, it's one of the "big" episodes most reviewers talk about and fans love to watch reactors... um... react to.
