Bulldozer

This week we installed a new server and migrated waifu2x onto it. This server has 2 GPU's instead of one, and a single card is around 30% faster then the old server. So in turn the server should be 2.6 times as fast as our old server. Queues should be mostly eliminated unless its at absolute peak traffic. I measured the power usage and at max load it draws 720 watts of power... that's quite something.

Waifu server upgraded

We have upgraded our waifu2x server with a much more powerful GPU so we can run the latest versions. We will also be able to run deepcreampy on it!

Someone made a decensoring tool for hentai stuff call deepcreampy. You can check out the project over @ https://github.com/deeppomf/DeepCreamPy

We're looking into making a interface and hosting an online version, and if possible improve the training model since we have a large amount of data available! 

Network upgrade again

We're currently investing money into expanding our total network capacity from 5gbits to 6gbits. This new server will be located in USA/Chicago and have a dedicated 1gbits port. This will be used to deliver images faster to US/CA visitors. We expect to have this server up and running in 2 weeks.

We're back!

Had to change a bit of the patreon so we're in line with the guidelines. During this time our patreon was temporarily suspended but we're back now. Also i got cute chibi's now on the rewards :)

2018 ad changes

Hey guys, thanks for sticking around! There is going to be some changes for a bunch of my sites regarding advertising. Starting feb 15 google chrome will have a build-in adblocker for sites that violate the 'betterads' standards. This means for all the sites, excluding booru.org since it has no adverts we are forced to remove our popunder code. Popunder is the annoying ad that opens a new tab in the background, this ad alone makes up for about 40% of our total revenue. Hopefully advertisers will...

Moar network speed!

We upgraded our network capacity, pushing our total capacity from 3gbits to 4gbits. As a result all the sites will be performing better during peak hours as that's when our lines were maxed out.

Pure IT porn

This is what porn looks like for enthusiastic system administrators. Don't know why but i keep all the boxes from the SSD's i bought in the past 5 years. Just a few days ago i added two 4TB Samsung SSD's to that collection for expansion of a image server.

Seagate laptop hdd?

The server for tbib.org is reaching max capicity, its currently running 8 WD RED 1TB's in a raid 6. Its almost at 90% usage and it increases 2% every month so within 5 months its going to be full. 

So the solution is to upgrade a different server with bigger hdds so i don't have any downtime. I use desktop grade hdds because they cost only half of what a 'enterprice' hdd would cost and since i only use MDADM (Linux software raid) its fully compatible. Raid cards tend to kick out desktop d...

So if you ever wondered how we host our booru's then take a look at the back of our rack at the datacenter. Many cables make a mess but we try to tidy it as much as possible! Not sure if there is any interest in this kinda stuff but meh, here you go.

I have been advertising my patreon on several of my booru and I'm happy to say we're now a bit over 10% of getting it done. I also added a 2th milestone in case we do ever get to that point :)
