You have no context...This is a stylized character in exaggerated world. Its super boring if everything has to "make sense" check out Cloud Strife's buster sword. Sephiroth's extremely long katana. Look at some anime weapons and Guilty Gear Xrd. Super impossible but it makes the characters more powerful and extraordinary because of bending real life rules.
