BTF ? You've experimented and worked with so many different mediums & materials throughout your many builds over the years. (Everything from leather work & interior design to creating a 170 ft rug.) Is there a skill, a technique or material you have not yet dived into, but would love to explore one day?

Doug Steinmiller

Amazing! Loved that it wasn't animal leather as well

BTF? Have you ever tossed around the idea of publishing a book of your many projects. Complete with lots of photos and funny behind-the-scenes stories, challenges and/or how-to tips? A Nerdforge book would be epic! ( & a bestseller for sure :)

Martina mixed several stains (Roc) to achieve the desired color. She then sealed the piece using a liquid leather finish (Eco Flo) followed by a sprayed leather wax finish (Fiebing’s). For the final touch, she combined leather grease (Gold Quality) with an antique finish (Fiebing’s) to create a rich, glossy surface. Hope that helps :) - Isabell

BtF question: did you get to work on the backpack product design (other than aesthetics, of course), or did you find a design already available that checked all your boxes for requirements?

Kapoteeni

I just got my cryptic sweatshirt in! I love it!!!!!!! I can’t wait until my backpack comes in!

Matthew Pelkey

Wonderful technique

Robert Palumbo

I haven’t done leather work since middle school about 40 years ago…. Ugh. That really looks amazing!

Kevin H

That was really cool!

I bought the cryptic joggers and sweatshirt and am so excited to get them in the mail!! Hansi, since you have a background in computer engineering, do you build your own computers?

Krista Smith

What a fantastic build! I love how this one turned out and how it looks on the desk. I noticed you used several different products on the leather during the staining process, could you give us a quick step-by-step breakdown, especially for the varnishing? Thank you :)
